Author's Notes: so this is one of the moment where it helps a great deal if you read Second Chances.(;
When I returned from the music store, Blaine and Rachel were still out shopping. I cleaned up the house and rearranging the living room furniture. I was folding laundry in my room when the front door opened Blaine and Rachel laughing as they tried to carry all the bags in.
I walked out and saw them dumping bags on the couch, coffee table, and floor, “Jeez, is there anything left in the store," I commented.
"Well there's more in the car, I don't know about the store though,” Blaine joked as Rachel walked back outside to get the rest.
"I got you something," Blaine said scanning bags. He pulled out a picture frame and walked over to me, "so Rachel was looking for a frame to put my picture in when I saw this." He handed me a picture frame with soul mates written in script at the bottom. "Then we printed the picture of you and me from your birthday party." The picture wasn't posed, Blaine and I were coming down from the roof we stood at the stair case and were just looking at each other love in our eyes before we even declared it to each other. "When I'm with you I feel whole. Our connection was so instant we must be soul mates, only we were split up in years rather than location." He said as I stared at the picture.
"Thank you so much Blaine." I pulled him in for a kiss as Rachel came back in.
"Hey love birds; will you give me a hand unpacking all this stuff?" She asked nicely.
I unlatch my mouth from Blaine’s but pulled him into a hug instead, “What is all of this crap?"
"Clothes, shoes, home dcor, oh you should smell the candles I got from Bed Bath and Beyond," she began to search for the navy bag with little luck.
"I'm going to put my picture away, and maybe stay there until I have a living room again...." I said taking steps back with Blaine still in my arms. He walked with me trying to avoid stepping on my toes as he laughed into my shoulder.
"Wait, I need help. Blaine," she whined as we disappeared shutting the door behind us. I let Blaine go and sat the picture of us on the night stand.
Blaine flopped his back on the bed yawning, "I don't want to go to school tomorrow," he complained, "it feels like summer vacation just started."
I walked over to lie beside him, "I don't want you to go to school either," I confessed.
"I think I'll hide here," he said pulling me closer to him, "in fact, can I just hide underneath you?"
He kissed me as I straddled his legs and pressed the length of my body on top of his. "Like this?" I asked on his lips. He moaned what I considered yes and kissed me passionately. His fingers ran through my hair as mine trailed down the sides of his slender waist. We spent the afternoon tangled together melting into each other as if we real could become one.
When we finally emerged Rachel practically redid the whole house, she had modern abstract painting on the walls in the living room and dining room along with strange candle holders in the halls, I was afraid to see what she did to her own room. "It's about time you two came out." She said from the couch reading one of my Vogue magazines.
"Sorry," Blaine smiled, "I got carried away."
"No, Blaine, we don't have to explain to her," I said kissing his cheek.
"I feel like eating cake," Blaine said.
"You shouldn't eat after 6 it makes you fat, especially sweets." Rachel said in a childish tone.
"Like you need to worry about your figure," I said to her then looked to Blaine, "you too, you could use some late night snacks."
"The only thing I eat late night is you," Blaine said in a haughty whisper.
"Oh god I need to teach you two the scrunchy system," Rachel said under the roar of my laughter.
"I'm going to run to Lima Bean for a piece of cake, do you two want anything?" Blaine said still giggling at his previous comment.
"I'm fine thank you," I said letting him out of my arms and walking to sit next to Rachel.
"Black coffee please," she requested.
"Okay, I'll be back in a few." Blaine said leaving swiftly.
"Where did you find him, he is better then you give him credit for. This afternoon was so much fun; it was like hanging out with you way back in the 50's” Rachel exclaimed.
"He is one of a kind isn't he?" I said smiling softly.
"One in a billion. He might keep a lot bottled up but the funny side he showed me this morning is unforgettable. I don't think I will ever be able to look at a girl walking down the street without asking myself, working or walking, ever again." She smiled and pulled her legs up into the chair.
I gave her a confused look, "I don't think I want to know." I said, "I'm glad he had fun and you did too. You both need more reasons to smile."
“Thanks, I think. But you are the angsty brooding one.” Rachel said with a teasing smile. “I think the three of us need each other.”
“Yeah, we are just messes when we are apart.” I comment.
“But together we are the three musketeers.”
“Worse comparison ever Rach,” I snorted picturing all of us in Spanish hats. She laughed covering her face in my shoulder apologizing.
She sat back up suddenly remembering his birthday. "What did you get him for his birthday, I want to collaborate."
"He told me he wants to be a composer so I got him an electric piano. It’s super fancy with a built in microphone and recorder." I explained to her.
"So uncomfortable amounts of sheet music it is," she laughed, "I'll come up with something,” she thought for a moment, “I’m going to get my scrunchy for you two." She stood and walked into her room.
She returned a few minutes later, "the nineties need to come back in style I miss scrunches and bandanas so much." She sat beside me, "he's not back yet?"
"Nope," I glanced at my watch and noticed it’s almost been twenty minutes, "I'm going to go find him." I decided as I started to get worried.
I walked out the door and headed to Lima Bean but was stopped by the scent of blood in the air, Blaine’s blood.
