Author's Notes: Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?
I heard Rachel come home making more noise then normal, I looked over to Blaine who didn't even blink. I walked out of the room to see what was going on. She had four boxes in her arms and one had fallen. The picture of Blaine and I last year on my birthday fell out in its soul mates frame. I picked it up and felt my heart break for a moment.
"What's all this." I asked her.
"Everything from the apartment .... well everything that didn't have blood on it." She said. "Is Blaine awake?"
"Not really. He's just sitting there." I replied.
She closed her eyes and summoned him and he was in the room in a flash.
"Don't do that." He complained.
"Good morning to you too babe." She smiled setting the boxes down. She skipped over to him and kissed his cheek. "I though you might want your old things from Ohio."
Blaine's eyes got wide, "you have it all?"
"Most of it. Here is that picture of a Lilly you drew me." She said looking at one box. "And our day at the spa with the towels I took for you."
"Our picture." I said handing it to him. "It seems like decades have passed, yet its only been a year."
Blaine smiled at the picture, first time in weeks he smile. It wasn't big, but it was real, it went to his eyes and in that moment he was happy. "Get over here and unpack roomie, I don't want you're walls bare." Rachel said.
"Would you hate me if I said I wanted new things..." Blaine asked after a few minutes of looking though his things.
"God no! I'd be over joyed. I love shopping in new york." Rachel said. "Get what you want, we can go shopping tomorrow morning for something fabulous."
"Thanks," he said and continued to look though boxes. My phone rang and I saw it was Mercedes.
Excusing myself out of the room I answered in a hush tone, "hello."
"Good news, I can fix him." She started.
"Really, how?" I asked looking over my shoulder.
"I can't tell you over the phone. But I need some things that aren't easy to come by." She said.
"How can I help?" I asked.
"Its not that I don't trust you but I don't want to be screen with you just yet. The witch community have gossiping. I opened a safety deposit box at the field stone Capitol bank. there's a list of things I need you to get and I need ten thousand dollars in that box before night fall."
"Holy shit. What for?" Kurt said.
"We are on a need to know basis right now Kurt. Okay." She said. "If you want me to fix him, do just as I asked. The safety deposit key is in the mail box. You'll hear from me soon." She hung up the phone.
I sighed and shook my head, fucking witches.
I walked back into the living room and saw Rachel hanging some photos and Blaine flipping though one of his journals. I took a few strides over to him and kissed the top of his head.
"I need to run some errands, they shouldn't take long." I told him but spoke loud enough for Rachel to hear.
"Okay," he said his focus returning to the notebook in front of him.
I checked the mail and there was a envelope with a simple K written on the front and what felt like a key inside. I ran down to wall street thinking how the hell I was going to get the money. I hated the idea but I might have to steal it. I didn't have that kind of money at this time. With that in mind I hit a bank on my way to Mercedes'.
The teller at Capitol was getting on my nerves to the point were I wanted to drain the poor bastard. I went to the personal sitting cubbyholes and opened the box. There was another envelope with the same K on it. I removed it and replaced it with ten grand in cash. I left the bank quickly, sending Mercedes a text telling her the money was in place.
It was already getting late so I stashed the list in my coat and left straight to the bar. I had to admit I was really proud of Rachel. The place looked great, there were a hand full of people already there. Just as I was heading upstairs to get Blaine he stopped me at the base, shouting my name from the stage.
I raised and eyebrow shocked that he left his room in the first place. I took a few strides over there and saw he was set up to perform. "What are you doing?"
"Rachel wants me to open the night and play piano all evening." He explained.
"She's not..."
"No, she just asked. She's not making me." Blaine assured me.
"Okay good." I smiled at him, "what are you playing?"
"You'll see." He turned his back and returned to checking the piano. I watched him for a moment before walking over to the bar to sit.
"Kurt, I want you to meet my boyfriend." Rachel said coming from my left. I looked over and saw a talk handsome man holding her hand. "This is Finn, babe, this is Kurt."
"Its a pleasure to meet you. I've heard so much." He said offering his hand. I shook it and smiled.
"How long have you been together?" I asked?
"A year, since I moved back he owns this property. And I knew of him back in the 40s. He's a war hero, very rarely to vampires join the war and he did." Rachel started rambling.
"I consider jumping in at the end on WWI but instead I moved to new Zealand." I said awkwardly. "Rachel where's you bartender?"
"Santana should be here any minute." Rachel said glancing at her watch. "Oh and its just about time for Blaine to start as well." She turned to Finn and stood on her tip toes to kiss him, whispering something in his ear.
Finn watched her walk away before sitting next to me. I calmly looked over to him, "you know what happens if you hurt her right."
"I do. She told me you were more of a maker to her then hers. I'm only 200 but I've never been happier then when I'm with her." Finn said.
"Hey soft serve, where's your girl?" I turned my head and saw Santana rushing to get behind the bar.
"Hey Santana, this is Kurt."
"We know each other." I said smelling the werewolf blood in her veins. "You changed."
"It was an accident." She started but Rachel called everyone's attention.
"Good evening everyone. Tonight is a very special night here at callbacks. My protgs is home for good. Blaine will be our pianist for as long as he wants to be. He and I always sung songs together and tonight we thought we could kick off the night with a duet." She smiled and moved to sit next to Blaine at the piano.
"Thank you Rachel, this is a song I wrote a year asked, this might be have been the last song I wrote I don't really remember but I hope you all like it." He said before he began to play.
"I don't know where I'm at I'm standing at the back And I'm tired of waiting... Waiting here in line, hoping that I'll find what I've been chasing." He sung alone.
Rachel then joined him, "I shot for the sky I'm stuck on the ground."
He stopped for a beat while she sung, " So why do I try," then they sung together " I know I'm gonna to fall down I thought I could fly, so why did I drown? Never know why it's coming down, down, down."
Rachel then began to sing, Blaine singing softly under her beautiful soprano voice. "Not ready to let go Cause then I'd never know What I could be missing But I'm missing way too much So when do I give up what I've been wishing for."
Blaine started by himself but Rachel joined after a few lines. "I shot for the sky, I'm stuck on the ground So why do I try, I know I'm gonna to fall down. I thought I could fly, so why did I drown? Never know why it's coming down, down, down. Oh I am going down, down, down" Blaine sung alone, "Can't find another way around And I don't want to hear the sound, of losing what I never found." He stopped the piano and sung softly with Rachel, "I shot for the sky I'm stuck on the ground So why do I try, I know I'm gonna to fall down" he picked up with the piano again. " I thought I could fly, so why did I drown? I never know why it's coming down, down, down."
The room began to applause one by one standing. Rachel kissed Blaine's cheek and told him she loved him before stepping off stage. He started to play a familiar song but without the lyrics I couldn't put my finger on what song.
Rachel returned to us her eyes still blinking away tears, "Santana you're late." She said.
"I know, I'm sorry." She said looking away from Rachel.
"Rachel, can we talk?" I asked standing up hoping she would follow me upstairs.
we got to the landing outside the apartment door, "What is it Kurt? did Finn say something?"
"I can fix Blaine."
