"This is the first social party I've been at since freshmen year," he giggled as the door guard requested our names.
"Kurt and Blaine," I said the guard smiled and opened the door.
"You will find the host in the back." He Said. I took Blaine's hand as we walked inside. There were hundreds of people crammed in here just dancing.
The techno echoed through the speakers from all angles, then the lights danced around to the beat. There were booths tables and a bar, I finished the quick scan ending at the door reading Private Party. This must be me, seeing that I don't know one of these people.
I pulled Blaine along stepping through the door to a much more toned down classy party. About 50 people maybe a little less turned as we entered. "He's here," someone called causing Blaine and I to be the main focus of the room.
"Kurt," Rachel sung as she danced up to us. "Is this him?"
She smiled wide fixing her hair. She looked beautiful, single strap plum mini dress with black pumps and her hair pulled to the side with the strap.
"Blaine, this is Rachel, Rachel Blaine," I introduced them.
She went straight for the hug, "It's so nice to meet you."
"Yeah, its great to meet you too," Blaine said nervously. I winked at him and nodded my head telling him she was okay.
"Kurt," I turned to see Kellie standing with Aaron. She smiled wide at me and hugged me tight, "Happy Birthday." she said in my ear.
Everyone slowly made their way to me to grant me a happy birthday. Rachel pulled Blaine to a table to talk to him while I was being greeted. I saw all of my old friends and some new ones too. I don’t know if it’s the optimism Blaine brings me or what but I was actually happy to see all these people.
It took a few minutes but I finally got away from the hungry masses and made it to the table Blaine and Rachel were sitting at. "I can't find Chandler, I think he is at the big party," Rachel said as I arrived.
I kissed Blaine quickly, "Sorry about that, I didn’t realize I had that many friends." I told him.
"Don’t worry about it, Rachel is great. She was telling me about New York." Blaine said turning back to Rachel.
"Kurt, you know how that skyline looks a dusk over the Hudson River. It's just indescribable," she said, "Blaine, you will just have to come with me one day and look for yourself."
"There's a DJ," Blaine pointed, "Will dance with me?"
"Of course I will," I answered putting my hand around his chair.
"Wait before you go take a shot with me." Rachel said as a waiter came around with a round of shots.
The color in Blaine's cheeks faded as he shook head, "No thanks," he declined sweetly.
"Why not?" Rachel questioned, "No one is going to hurt you for underage drinking." she smiled assuming that was the problem. I looked back to him as she thrust a shot in front of the both of us.
"I just don’t drink," Blaine said staring at it. Rachel was about to protest when I stepped in.
"Rachel, please. He doesn’t want any." I looked at her.
"Okay then, sorry." she said shooting her back and slamming the shot to the table making Blaine flinch.
"I'm going to go request a song." He mumbled walking away from the table.
"Was it something I said?" Rachel asked as he ran off quickly towards the bathroom instead of the DJ booth.
I shook my head watching his retreat, "I don’t know, I think I'll go talk to him." I said but was stopped as chandler entered the room.
"Happy Birthday!" he screeched at me giving me a hug. "Well, best secret party ever right?" he said.
"Chandler," Rachel said taking the shot Blaine left.
"Whore," Chandler said back giving her a fake smile.
"Bitch don’t start with me." she returning his mischievous grin.
"No, you two are not allowed to fight." I said looking between the both of them. "Say something nice right now."
"I saw you on Broadway.... twice." Chandler said.
"I like your tie," she said raising an eyebrow to me. Good enough? She might as well said with a look like that. She stood up taking the shot she set in front of me, "Talk to you soon." She patted my chest and walked to the dance floor.
"See, I invited all of your friends," Chandler said snarling at her retreated. "Here is your ring, full of magic, don't lose it or gamble it away to a undeserving vampire" he said looking at Rachel dance with Aaron, I took the ring and put it on not exactly feeling anything but I knew it was working. "Enjoy your party, I'm going back to the Scank free room."
I shook my head and caught Blaine's laughed turning quickly to see him talking to Ally my friend from Germany. I walked over and smiled at the both of them as Ally walked away and Blaine turned to me. I put my arm around his waist, "Are you okay?"
He shook his head yes and smiled but it didn’t quite convince me. "Dance with me, I love Roxy Music." He smile as the DJ mixed music. We danced for a few songs before returning to a table with Kellie and Rachel.
"Blaine this is my previous landlord Kellie, Kells this is my boyfriend, Blaine." I introduced them. She held her hand out and smiled widely at him.
"Nice to meet you." Blaine said. She nodded in agreement.
The waitress came around with colorful cocktails setting one in front of Rachel and Kellie.
"Jesus, Rachel, are you trying to remember the night?" I asked jokingly. She shook her head at me and her eyes traveled over to Blaine who was staring off into the distance.
"Blaine," she called to him, he didn’t respond so she placed her hand over his and gasped.
"Rachel Stop." I hissed gaining Blaine attention causing him to move his hand from hers; Rachel stared at Blaine with sorrow feeling her eyes. "Don’t do that to him." I said.
"Do what?" both Blaine and Kellie asked.
"Kurt come dance with me." Rachel insisted running towards the dance floor.
I walked over there throwing my finger in her face. "Do not peak into his mind, that’s none of your damn business."
"No, it's yours," she said taking my hand showing me what she saw.
