Blaine collapsed at the desk in coopers class, “I can’t feel my legs or arms.” He said. His first week of school had officially ended with the weekend to regain strength Blaine just wanted to sleep all weekend.
“Yeah, July told me that you needed to hit the gym, your lifts suck.” Cooper laughed throwing an orange at Blaine.
Blaine caught it and winced, “I do solo and ensemble work, this pairing and partnering crap sucks.”
“You’ll be fine.” Cooper said. “Abby weighs like 100 pounds.”
“130 to be exact I’ve got 30 pounds on her coop,” Blaine complained.
“And how much does Kurt weigh?” Cooper teased.
“150 and I’m not lifting his ass either.” Blaine laughed. Things were going very well with Kurt. They talked all the time about school most the time sometimes about the latest fashion trends or what recipe Kurt has masted out of Julia child’s cookbooks.
“I for one can’t wait to see it. I’m taking my introductions classes since I don’t want come up with something basic to do while they prep for west side story callbacks.” Cooper said.
“Rachel told me not to tell July my weaknesses. As soon as I let slip I didn’t do much partner work the next assignment was contemporary duets. And I have the dance with the most lifts and acting. Acting because I’m also paired with a girl. But there is a beautiful dance I wanted to do about two guy stabbing each other in the back and overcoming a friendship that had ended.” Blaine said.
“Stop complaining, she’s making you better.” Cooper said biting into an apple.
“Well, I like being a shitty dancer it didn’t hurt this much.” Blaine said putting his head back, Kurt walked in at the same time and Blaine shot up not even carting if he was in pain. “Hey Kurt.”
“Hey shitty dancer.” He said making Cooper laugh. “Why don’t you eat lunch in the cafeteria?”
“I’m scared. I tried Monday but you new directions kids were dancing on tables again.” Blaine said with a laugh.
“Blaine, we have all told you, any day now you are going to be on the tables with us.” Kurt said sitting on top of a desk across Blaine. “Do you need help with your pair dancing?”
“no, but I do need help picking a song to sing for the musical, I can’t decide between somethings coming and tonight.” Blaine said.
“Easy, something’s coming, tonight is a crappy song if you ask me. You’re the four o’clock this evening. I'll be there do you want to grab dinner after?” Kurt said.
“Yeah, that sounds great.” Blaine said.
“I’ll see you then. And Monday please come eat lunch with us, I promise no one will dance in the cafeteria, we planned a number in the library this time.” Kurt laughed, “see ya later Mr. A.”
As soon as Kurt was out of hearing distance Cooper whistled, “someone’s got a date tonight.”
“Its not a date.” Blaine said, “is it?”
“If you pay it is.” Cooper said smugly. The bell rang and Blaine sighed, “I don’t want to go to theater, we’re practicing accents and building characters. Ms. Rhodes calls me her Tony, I haven’t even auditioned yet.”
“I’ll write you a pass to hit the gym. I’ll even sign it Cassie July so it looks real.” Cooper laughed.
“I’m done. I quit see you at home.” Blaine said walking out. He went to his theater class then English with Kurt and as much as he just wanted to skip his second vocal class he went and sung a falsetto in the first ten minutes which allowed him to sit the rest of the class out. math was a breeze and Blaine reluctantly went to the gym after school to lift weighs until his audition.
Blaine saw Kurt at the back of the auditorium as he walked on stage. The teachers perked up as Blaine walked on stage, Aprils smile could be seen from space as he introduced himself to the other teachers. He sung Something’s Coming(
Watchand everyone was thrilled by the end Blaine swears he even saw ms Tibideaux in the balcony in the middle of it.
Kurt met Blaine right in the halls, “well sung Tony.” He said with a smile.
“Thank you, too bad I missed your audition I’m sure it was perfect.” Blaine said.
“It was okay, I was singing upside down and twirling knives.” Kurt said passively.
“Of course you can twirl knives.” Blaine said under his breath. “Where are we going for dinner.”
“Breadstixx, I love their cheesecake.” Kurt said.
“I haven’t been there since I was a kid.” Blaine said heading towards student parking. “Do you want to ride together?”
“separate, I live like walking distance from the restaurant and this school is in the middle of no where.” Kurt laughed.
“Okay, Ill follow you.” Blaine said walking towards his car.
At dinner Kurt quickly told the waitress they were ordering separate. Blaine took that as a warning, this was not a date. He kept the topics light, told Kurt about his troubles with the dance class. And Kurt told him about how he never took July’s class because she started last year and he was in a special Latin ballroom class and this year he wasn’t taking dance.
Kurt ordered dessert and Blaine skipped ordering a cup of coffee instead.
“You have to at least try a bite Blaine, worlds best cheesecake.” Kurt held a bite out for him. Blaine took it and nodded his head.
“Its good.” he said.
“When I’m sad this is all I’ll eat.” Kurt said taking another bite himself.
Blaine took that fact to memory and said, “I eat cereal. Well fruit loops and coconut milk.”
“You are adorable Blaine.” Kurt said.
Blaine excused himself to go to the bathroom and when he walked out the bathroom, he saw Kurt was talking with a guy. Blaine returned and the man left.
“That’s my friend Adam, he graduated two years with Jesse St. James, the boy Rachel raves about. It was really nice seeing him.” Kurt said mostly to himself.
Blaine knew exactly what that meant, they dated and probably hooked up a few times after breaking up.
“The waitress dropped the bills off, yours wasn’t even half of mine I paid for them both.” Kurt said standing up.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Blaine said.
“No biggie, you can buy me lunch next week or something.” Kurt said walking to the door. He waved bye to Adam and Adam mouthed call me.
Kurt gave Blaine a quick hug, “see you Monday.”
“Bye.” Blaine said walking to his car.
