"Well guys, do you think we can get twelve in 3 weeks because I just got the invitation to sectionals." He stated holding an email.
"Why don't we preform? I bet that will bring members in." Blaine said.
"Because none of us want to die." Tina said stating the obvious.
"Oh please, tomorrow at lunch lets preform," Blaine stood and looked at the 5 other members and their solemn faces.
Kurt shook his head, "its not that easy Blaine, you just got here yesterday."
"And I'm willing to put the work in to get this club somewhere. This isn't my first rodeo." Kurt watched Blaine cross the room to talk to the additional band members. Kurt turned to Rachel.
"Stop him, I don't want to see him hurt." Kurt said Rachel nodded and stood to talk to Blaine. Kurt watched them intently as Mr. Schue joined the duo. Kurt couldn't explained the feeling he has had for Blaine. Since the first day he saw him just standing around with Mercedes.
"Whose the new guy?" Kurt had asked Mercedes as Blaine walked down the halls with Mike, Puck, Finn, and Sam.
"Blaine something, he just joined the football team." Mercedes said glancing at the moving football players.
"He's cute." Kurt commented, "I'm pretty sure he is gay those are H&M jeans,"
"Don't bother Kurt he's an athlete, he will only break your heart in the end." Mercedes closed her locker. "Lets go to glee club."
Kurt pondered with Blaine would break his heart or not. Last year they spoke mostly Blaine tell him he's sorry his friends are jerks. But this year started much different, Blaine threw a slushie in Rachel's face right in front of him.
Kurt was staring at the door so he didn't notice Blaine approach him. "Hey Kurt, wanna grab some coffee, you can help me pick a song." Blaine smiled softly.
"I have work but good luck, glee performance usually end in riots. Its not unusual if they throw things at you. Or ignore you entirely." Kurt shrugged, Blaine stared at him just gazing into Kurt's eyes. "Blaine?" Kurt said in a warning tone. Blaine blinked.
"I lost my train of thought," Blaine turned and blushed slightly, "have fun at work," Blaine turned away and spoke to Rachel.
"He is whipped." Mercedes whispered into Kurt's ear. Kurt turned to her appalled.
"Shut up," he teased stand up to leave. "I've got work Mr. Schue," Kurt said walking out the door, Blaine smiled and waved to Kurt. Kurt knew he couldn't ignore or avoid Blaine anymore so he smiled and waved back. The light in Blaine's eyes grew brighter making Kurt smile a bit more as he walked to his car and drove over to the shop.
Kurt got to the garage on a rather quite day. His father stood behind the register.
"Hey kid," Burt called as Kurt walked up to the register. "How was school?"
"Hey dad." Kurt leaned on the counter, "it was unusual, can we talk?" Kurt looked around the shop there was only one car and ralph was working on it.
"Sure," Burt led his son into their home. Kurt took a seat at the kitchen and Burt opened the fridge to grab a lemonade. "What's on your mind kido?"
"Remember last year when I told you about that Blaine kid?" At Burt's nod he continued, "well he has been asking me out all this year,"
"I don't see the problem. Is he bothering you, should I go to the school?"
"No dad its not that," Kurt quickly stopped Burt's accusation. "I don't want to like him but every day he makes me like him more and more. Yesterday he joined the glee club and sung a song to Me."
"Why don't you want to like him?" Burt asked confused.
"Well he's a jock, and he is stubborn. His best friend is Puck. Well those were my reasons, but now he is just different. He and puck actually got into a pretty bad fight last I heard." Kurt drifted off looking outside the window.
"Well, I really don't know what is going on between you two." Burt said honestly.
"Me neither. I want to give him a chance but I don't know him at all and the last 48 hours proved me that much. Rachel trust him." Kurt said.
"Maybe one date is all you need." Burt shrugged but heard a car pull into the drive. "We'll finish talking later, son." Burt opened the garage door leaving Kurt to his thoughts.
Blaine was different sure but Kurt was unsure about him. Regardless, Kurt now knew Blaine had no intentions of backing down.
