Blaine walked into the Choir room glancing shyly around for the group but it appeared that he was first. Mr. Schuester came around the corner shocked to see the football star in his room.

"Blaine Anderson, what do I owe the honor?" Mr. Schuester asked shaking Blaine’s hand.

"If I’m not too late I’d like to join the glee club." Blaine said honestly.

"Glee Club is always open, we need all the members we can get. Can you sing?" Schuester asked.

"Yes, Rachel told me I had to audition so I picked out a song, I just need a guitar." Blaine said looking at the 3 guitars sitting next to the drums and the red electric piano.

"Go right ahead and set up, here come the group now," Mr. Schuester said walking to his office for a moment. Blaine picked up a tan acoustic guitar and sat on a stool strumming it softly making sure everything was in tune. Mr. Schuester came back out just as the New Directions walked into the room. They looked between each other then to Blaine

"Hey guys," Mr. Schuester said, "Blaine wants to join so let’s give him a warm gleeful welcome." There was an attempt at applause all coming from Rachel who was smiling wide as she took her seat. Everyone stared at Blaine, unsure what was to come.

"Thanks guys... um, I guess I’ll just start." Blaine looked the guitar and strummed a very basic beat. Kurt raised an eye brow, he didn't expect Blaine to be able to play a guitar. Then Blaine opened his mouth, "It's 3 in the morning and I'm still not sleeping," The entire group collectively dropped their jaws staring in disbelieve that the smooth tenor melody was leaving Blaine’s mouth. “Because I'm finally running your race. The mountains you've been climbing seem like they have steepened, since I decided to pick up the pace," Blaine looked away from his cords timidly to Kurt’s shocked face.

"If the whole world told me I should disappear, Could I fall right next to you?" Blaine’s voice carried through the hall where Santana and Puck were walking, from their lockers towards the gym. Santana stopped and saw Blaine's back singing softly. Puck turned to see why she stopped.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing, I'll meet you on the field." Santana said, her protective instincts kicking in not wanting Puck to see Blaine at this moment. Puck rolled his eyes and walked out the doors.

"Just let me burn the night away," he held the note a bit, "Oh baby let me burn the night away. By thinking of the simple things you say to me, that get me through the day." He drummed against the guitar starting to feel the song as the next verse progressed. "You keep me wide awake. You keep me wide awake."

Santana crept closer to the door as she fell in love with his voice alone. The initial shock of Blaine was over and Artie couldn’t stop smiling. Mercedes was swaying with a soft smile on her lips, she kept looking to Kurt and Blaine seeing the yearning in their lingering eyes.

"So don't look back the hourglass is running empty, you’ve got me buried with your every move," Blaine held Kurt's glaze while he sung, "Your fine lines have me at a loss of memory. I'm right beside you in an empty room. If the whole world told me I should disappear, could I fall right next to you?" Blaine held another note but he was waiting to really shock them.

"Just let me burn the night away. Oh baby, let me burn the night away. By thinking of the simple things you say to me that get me through the day." Blaine sped up his fingers and sung his favorite part, "And it's so hard to catch your feelings When you always run away," he stopped strumming for a moment, "You keep me wide awake" Two cords "You keep me wide awake." Blaine looked back down to his quickly moving fingers remembering the reason why he picked the song. His felt tears prick at his eye lid he quickly blinked them back. This is going to work. He told himself taking a breath.

"You're making it hard for me to just start over like were new. Oh the whole world told me I should disappear," Blaine stopped strumming as he raised his head. he Turned it to the side to push his emotions out, "Cause I'm falling in love with you" Blaine his the falsetto he spent all night perfecting causing Rachel to cheer him on with her claps. Her eyes were watery and she couldn’t stop smiling; Artie joined with her as Santana walked into the room to watch him.

Blaine returned his hands to the guitar and strummed hard. "Just let me burn the night away " Blaine held another note, his eyes traveling over to her but he didn’t really react to her. “Oh baby, let burn the night away." he strummed over the notes he carried. "By thinking of the simple things you say to me that get me through the day. And it's so hard to catch your feelings when you always run away " Blaine finally slowed down and strummed softly like he did when he first started. "You keep me wide awake. You keep me wide awake."

The room busted in applauses Santana included.

"Oh my god, Blaine," Santana said in awe. "I'm speechless."

"Join the Club," Mr. Schuester said, Blaine smiled blushing slightly, his eyes looked for Kurt's, but was bombarded by Rachel.

"We have to sing together," She announced, Blaine stood up and set the guitar down.

"Sure, I'll sing with you."

"ANDERSON!" coach Beiste walked into the room after spending the first 10 minutes of her practice looking for him. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" She yelled.

The whole glee club went silent as she approached him. "YOU DON’T QUIT THE TROJANS NO MATTER WHO YOU'RE MAD AT. GET YOUR ASS ON THE FIELD RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME GOD. THIS IS THE FINAL GAME!" Blaine returned to athlete mode as his yelling coach pointed out the room.
