Author's Notes: Sorry if this is abit short, I've been adding tiny bits to it over the weekend.disclamer: i don't own anything. Yet.

"Regionals!" Mr. Shue announced, clasping his hands together then pointing towards the white board, "So, we all descussed before-hand what songs would fit for the judges, but since we have new members, we need to re-think it over, so, ideas?"

With a shrug Rachel raised her hand, "Mr. Shue, my stance of singing paradise by the dashboard light is still foregoing," she crossed her hands over, "but may I suggest rewarding only the pupils in this group with a solo that actually work for their songs."

"So, meaning you and lady Anderson?" Santana snapped, rolling her eyes when Blaine forced out a grunt of disaproval.

"Frankly yes, since you and mostly half the rest of the glee club do not work up to their full potentional," she turned to Mr. Shue, "I'll happily accept the invitation to lead all songs for this year's regionals, infact I have some gr-"

"Rachel, the purpose of today's meeting was not to discuss what songs you will be singing for regionals," Mr. Shue provided, walking over to grab a whiteboard pen, "the purpose was to discuss what songs others will be singing for regionals."

With a sigh Rachel slumped backwards in her plastic seat, flicking her head towards Blaine as he started to speak, "M-maybe we should give a duet, to the new members."

"Ugh," Kurt and Quinn groaned in unison.

"Oh please," Santana smirked, "if Kurt wasn't around, you'd be snapping up that duet with your huge gay teeth, so stop joking around, we all know about your undying crush on, Hummel."

"What?" Kurt cooed, "Really?"

Blaine blushed, darting his eyes straight over to Rachel who was quaking in her seat, "Rach?"

"I-I'm sorry B, It kind of you know," she shrugged, "slipped out, it was an accident, but like I said last weekend, you can't keep this bottled up inside yo-"

"Rachel," He hissed through gritted teeth, "Stop it. Right now."

"Guys," Mr. Shue interupted, "I'd love to sit here and listen to you all bicker, but we have a set list to design don't we?"

And that was that, they got straight to work, after 20 minutes of non-stop searching for songs, listening to music on mobiles and having Rachel scream in their ears about what song she wants to perform, they had their list:

The New Directions Set List for Regionals

Opening song; Paradise by the dashboard light - New Directions.

Second song; Ready to go - Quinn Fabray and Blaine Anderson.

Last song; Primadonna - Rachel Berry.

"Hold on," Quinn spoke, pushing her hand infront of herself steadily, "Can Blaine even sing? I mean, not to be rude or anything but-"

And that's how they settled for the second song, with Blaine singing his heart out and everyone clapping, cheering, the usual applause.

Then Kurt sat near the back with a smirk on his face.

"So, Blaine," Kurt smiled, leaning against the cool locker.

"Oh, h-" he stopped, mouth agape, because damn, Kurt looked hot today.

"Kurt. My names Kurt." He laughed, streching a pierced eyebrow out.

"Y-yeah, I, um—I know who you are."

Smirking one last time, the pink haired boy handed him some sheet music with a questionable look on his face.

"O-okay, what are these for?" They're obviously for music Blaine, this is your first conversation with the boy you think you're madly in love with, play it cool.

Play it cool. Right, okay.

"I mean," Blaine flicked at his hair and skimmed quickly through the words "cool, simple plan, they're a good band, music, good ban—anyway, you've never spoken to me before, let alone acknowledged my existance, so why are you giving me this?"

"Because your voice is the perfect smoothness to match my tone, I've always wanted to sing this song," Kurt narrowed his eyes towards Blaine, "but I swear to god if you judge me about this your head wi—"

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Yeah, okay, let's sing the song."

"Cool."

"Blaine, Kurt, take it away." Mr. Shue said, sitting down in a plastic green chair.

Hey, Dad, look at me,

Think back, and talk to me,

Did I grow up according to plan?

And do you think I'm wasting my time?

Kurt silently laughed to himself, because the seriousness on Blaine's face was priceless.

Doing things I want to do?

But it hurts when you disapproved all along,

And now I try hard to make it.

I just want to make you proud,

I'm never gonna be good enough for,

You can't pretend that I'm alright,

And you can't change me.

They both made awkward eye contact with eachother, then suddenly they both belted out the chorus together, it felt good.

'Cause we lost it all,

Nothin' lasts forever,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

Now it's just too late,

And we can't go back,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

They smiled at eachother.

I try not to think,

About the pain I feel inside,

Did you know you used to be my hero?

All the days you spent with me,

Now seem so far away,

And it feels like you don't care any more.

And now I try hard to make it,

I just want to make you proud,

I'm never gonna be good enough for you.

I can't stand another fight,

And nothing's all right.

The awkwardness of singing together was gone, just the smooth overtones of eachothers voices which were blending together perfectly was the only sound in the choir room.

'Cause we lost it all,

And nothin' lasts forever,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

Now it's just too late,

And we can't go back,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

The music dimmed and Kurt softly started to sing.

Nothing's gonna change the things that you said,

And nothing's gonna make this right again,

Please don't turn your back.

I can't believe it's hard just to talk to you,

But you don't understand.

'Cause we lost it all,

And nothin' lasts forever,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

Now it's just too late,

And we can't go back,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

'Cause we lost it all,

And nothin' lasts forever,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

Now it's just too late,

And we can't go back,

I'm sorry I can't be perfect.

"I was never loved, by anyone, no-one ever loved me, not even my dad, I don't even think my mum did, but who cares right? She passed away when I was 8, I had no idea, I was away when she died, I remember coming home to her, seeing her on the floor, my dad, bawling his eyes out, he hated me from that day, I still have no idea why, is it because I'm gay? He never payes attention to me, no-one does.." Kurt laughed with no humor in his voice.

"Kurt—"

"And before you all start to judge me, and give me all your snarky come backs, I do like to sing, I do want to be in glee club, I love it here."

"Why, why are you telling us this?" Rachel asked raising her hand slightly and lowering it after she acknowledged the snark on Kurt's face.

"I honestly have no idea."

End Notes: that was bad i'm sorry.the song used here was perfect by simple plan!
