A two weeks had pasted since Blaine had left the hospital. They had manly stayed in Blaine's house, only leaving for food and clean clothes for Kurt. Kurt sighed as he picked up his watch from the bed side table.
"Do you really have to go?" Blaine asks from the comfort of the warm bed.
"I could only take twos week's leave. I think trying for another day might be pushing it." Kurt sighs as he quickly kisses Blaine on the lips. "You are going to be ok while I'm gone?" Kurt asks. This would be the first time his left Blaine by himself for hours and a little bit of him was scared, scared it was going to happen again and he knew it was silly, Blaine had promised he wouldn't do something like that again. But there was always going to be that part of him scared. Maybe it had been there since Finn died and had only really surfaced after Blaine's incident. He hated goodbyes and after losing him he always made sure that everybody he loved knew it, even if he was gone for just a few minutes. Blaine sighed as he took Kurt's hand and looked into his eyes.
"I know what you're thinking. It's going to be ok. You'll never going to get rid of me, even if you wanted to." Blaine laughed as he slowly kissed his hand. They both laugh. "Anyways I was thinking of maybe going out today. I really should speak to Frank." Blaine got up and grabbed some clothes and started to get dressed. Kurt knew if he looked he would be distracted and he would never leave for work so he finished tying his tie.
Kurt started to walk towards the door but noticed Blaine in the bathroom. He was half dressed and standing in front of a full length mirror. Kurt watched as he slowly turned around to look at his back, at his tattoos.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Kurt finally asks as he joins Blaine in the bathroom. Blaine quickly grabs his shirt and wraps it around his upper body while shaking his head no. Kurt sighs before he looks into the mirror; he grabs Blaine's hips and stands him in front of him. He rests his head on Blaine's shoulder before pressing small kisses along his neck.
"You still like, I mean how I look now?" Blaine asks, his voice small almost childlike.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I've changed, I've changed a lot. I'm not that boy from that private school you first fell in love with. The guy who had to gel his hair every morning before anybody saw him. The guy who wore a bowtie with all his outfits, because I'm not him anymore, Kurt. I have tattoos....."
"Hold on a second, Blaine, do you think....? No listen to me, Blaine. You could cut off all your hair and tattoo every last inch of your skin and I will still think you're the most stunning, no, most beautiful person I've ever seen. Do you think of me any different with my tattoo?" Kurt asks. Blaine smiles as he spins around in Kurt's arms. He looks him up and down, taking in every inch of his body.
"I think it's kinda hot." Blaine finally says as he leans into to kiss Kurt who refuses. "Hey!"
"Did I ever tell you about the time I got a tongue piercing?" Kurt slides himself away from Blaine, throwing him a sneaky grin that just shows the tip of his tongue as he leaves "But that I will have to tell you about some other time."
"What?"
"Long story I'm late." Kurt runs back to Blaine and gives him a quick kiss goodbye.
Blaine walked into the coffee shop for the first time since he'd been let out of the hospital. He sighed as he opened the door as the familiar smell of the coffee hit his nose.
"Blaine" a recognizable voice shouted across the heads of the customers. He knew who it was straight away without seeing a face, Frank. He had only visited Blaine, twice during the two weeks. Once to check he was doing ok and the other, well just to catch up. Frank had always considered him as a son, after taking him in when he was so lost and scared, he managed to help him to a point but that's were Kurt took over. He saw the happiness that he brought to his face and that was something he didn't want to get in the way of.
"Frank" Blaine laughed as they finally hugged each other in the middle of the shop. "It's good to see you."
"You too. No Kurt?"
"No he had to go back to work which is actually why I'm here. I want to come back to work as soon as you allow me." Frank nodded as he pulled Blaine along past the people towards the counter ordering two drinks along the way as they walk to his office.
His office was small, but it just managed to fit in an office desk and chair as well as an arm chair. Blaine took the arm chair as Frank pulled a picture from the wall. It was of him and Blaine, standing outside the shop.
Frank handed him the picture as he sat himself down on the office chair.
"I like that picture." He says as he watches Blaine inspect it. His eyes lighting up as the memories flood back into his mind. "You don't want to work here."
"I don't?"
"Blaine, I've known you for over 7 years now and I know you don't want to work in coffee for the rest of your life. You should be out there with your guitar entertaining crowds not making sure someone's coffee is the right temperature, which regrettably means I can't offer you your old job back..."
"What...but..."
"...but I want to offer you a different job as an alternative. I know you perform as much as you can when your here and the customers, well they love it. So as well as giving customers the chance to perform I want to officially hire you as a performer instead. You don't have to work every night and I'll pay you the same as you get now plus whatever you make in tips... Blaine, you have a talent. A talent that is worth sharing to the world, you can't keep it hidden anymore and maybe one day your make it big and you head to some award show, I don't know the MTV vm something or other..."
"The VMA's" Blaine laughs as he feels a single tear leave his eye.
"The VMA's and I'll be sitting here so proud to have known you." Blaine nods slowly as Franks gets up and they hug.
"But why now?" Blaine finally asks as they finish the hug.
"Kurt... his made you happier then I've ever seen you and that thing you were punishing yourself over you don't have to anymore. Go and live, do what you've always wanted to do but you won't be ever making coffee here again."
