Kurt picks up the dishes from the dining table and heads to the kitchen on the other side of the room. Blaine hasn't spoken all night. He just ate in silence. He hadn't even looked at him, not once. Kurt looks back at Blaine who hasn't moved as he settles the dishes in the sink. He'll clean them tomorrow he thinks but first he needs to talk with Blaine.
"Please say something" Kurt begs as he sits back down and places his hands on the table in front of him. He watches Blaine's chest as it goes up and down with his breathing. He wants nothing more than to know what his thinking right now. "Please" He begs. He pushes his hands towards the centre of the table hoping Blaine would take them but nothing.
Blaine finally takes a sip of wine before raising his head to look at Kurt. His eyes look tired and red. Kurt feels himself gasp at the sight. He wants to make everything okay but he also wonders how much more drama Blaine can take in his life before his back in the hospital. He shakes the thought out of his head. He can't think like that. It's going to get better.
"Ple..." Kurt goes to say again but it's lost somewhere in his throat. He can't get the word up.
"Was it good?" Blaine finally says as he settles his hands on his own lap.
"Was what good?" Kurt asks slightly confused but also happy that Blaine is talking.
"The kiss... was he...."
"Blaine, you know I would never" Kurt stops to think of what to say next. He knows the wrong words could trigger something in Blaine just like before. "I love you so much and what Adam did wasn't right. You, Blaine Devon Anderson, you are the love of my life. You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you."
Kurt watches as Blaine looks around the apartment. He doesn't say anything. He watches him with slight fear of what he will say next. His heart feels like it's breaking again.
"I know... Kurt, I really want to kiss you right now." Blaine says in an audible whisper. "Can I?"
Kurt nods his head inviting Blaine over to his side of the table. Blaine gradually gets up from his seat and walks over to Kurt before grabbing his hands. He leans down and captures Kurt's lips with his own and for a second everything seemed right in the world as they lose themselves to each other.
After what seemed they years they finally pull apart from each other both slightly out of breath. They look at each other and laugh before they fall silent again.
"Can I ask you a question?" Blaine says as he pulls Kurt over to the couch in the main living area. They sit down.
"Sure"
"You and Adam, you guys were together for some time..."
"He was here because he said his mother had died. That's why he came to see me. I guess he was lonely and that's why he kissed me." Kurt butts in.
"Oh" Blaine grabs Kurt's hand once again and slowly strokes it. "I'm guessing you and his family were close."
"Kind of, they live halfway across the world. I only meet them a few times and all the rest was really over Skype. But that's in the past. There his family, you're mine." Kurt moves forward and kisses Blaine's forehead. "I think he wanted me to go back to England for the memorial service."
"You should."
"What?"
"You were part of his family for a long time."
"No they wouldn't want me there. I'll send them some flowers or something." Kurt starts to kiss Blaine again but he pulls away.
"I just don't want you to feel like I'm keeping you away from something that's important."
"I've made my decision. You're the only thing that's important to me now." Kurt reassures him as Blaine nods in agreement.
Blaine cuddles into Kurt on the couch but something is still not right and Kurt can tell. Kurt kisses his forehead as he closes his eyes and whispers.
"You would tell me if something was wrong?"
"Sure" Blaine mumbles as he adjusts his head against Kurt's chest.
They stay like this for most of the night just enjoying each other's company and listening to music.
Neither of them brings up the topic of Blaine moving in especially after what happened the few hours earlier. Kurt wants to ask him again, this time more official and not over the phone. He sees Adam's old key that he had put out on the table ready for Blaine but he can't help think of all the memories he had with him in this apartment. He knows for sure that he had fallen out of love with Adam, he knew that for some time but he couldn't deny the history they had. They had been together for almost nine years, nine years that he wanted rid of from his life and that makes him feel guilty. He wants to forget them. He wants to erase Adam from them and replace them with Blaine. He wishes it had been him instead that he had spent those years with. He thinks about all the history they could have had by now but then he thinks about what's to come and he smiles. He sighs The as he plays with the curls in Blaine's bushy hair as he sleeps on his lap. He kisses his forehead before he lets his body fall to sleep to.
The morning sun shines through the windows waking both of them up from there deep slumber. Blaine yawns as he pulls himself away from Kurt's warm chest.
"Neck hurts." Blaine moans as he gets to his feet and adjusts his pants which have slowly made their journey south during the night. "Need coffee. Want?" He announces as he looks back at Kurt.
Kurt isn't really moving he just turns to his side and falls back to sleep.
"Lazy" Blaine laughs as he heads to the kitchen.
He finally gets to the fridge and looks inside. He decides on a yogurt for breakfast but soon regrets it after he pulls at the lid and ends up spilling it over his black pants. He swears to himself as he looks for anything to wipe it off before it stains them but he gives up as there is a sudden knock at the door.
He heads to the door and opens it to find Adam standing in front of him. Blaine didn't get a proper look at him last time he saw him but now he can now see what attracted Kurt to him in the first place. His blonde messy hair was kept tidy with a beanie. His clothing style was more causal then he had expected, just a simple pair of jeans, a blue shirt and a rucksack. And his accent, he wasn't surprised at all how he ended up dating someone British; it made sense after all Downtown Abbey marathons Kurt had forced him to watch while they were still dating the first time.
"Please can we talk? I need to apologise." Adam whispers. Blaine looks back into the apartment before he walks out closing the door behind him. He looks up at Adam who's clearly taller and waits for him to say something. He watches Adam's eyes as they scan his face before they look at the yogurt stain on his pants then back at him again.
"I guess you must be Blaine?" Adam asks before he continues. "I just wanted to apologise about yesterday and well it's not Kurt's fault and" Adam stops.
"I understand and I really should ask for your forgiveness to. How Kurt and I got back together. We should have waited and believe me when I say I had no intention of hurting anyone." Blaine looks at Adam who was clearly expecting a different reply. "He told me why you came last night and well I'm sorry about your lose."
"Thanks I guess." Adam pulls at his rucksack straps feeling like a little kid again on his first day at school. "Well I should go. I have an early flight."
"Do you need to speak to Kurt?" Blaine asks.
"No I will stay away but I wish you guys the best of luck." Adam smiles as he puts his hand out. Blaine gladly accepts and shakes it. "By the way you have some white stuff on your trousers."
Blaine can feel his face going red as he looks back at the stain on his pants. "IT'S YOGART!" He shouts a bit too loud as Adam laughs. "It is I swear, I tried to open one and it went everywhere."
"Sure.... I better be on my way." They both smile before Adam shakes his hand one more time and heads for the lift.
Blaine heads back into the apartment and sits next to Kurt who's fast asleep.
"I think everything's going to be alright." Blaine whispers as he kisses his forehead.
