Author's Notes: I don't own Glee, Blaine Anderson, or any characters associated with this beautiful plotline. Although, i really wish I did.
The steamy water ran over my skin as I rinsed the last bit of conditioner out of my hair, slowly twisting the warm glass knob in my hand, the water stopping abruptly. Inhaling deeply, I took one last breath before exiting the small tiled cubicle.

For the longest time, everything was looking up for Blaine Anderson. Ever since I transferred to Dalton Academy. Ever since I moved into this new house. Ever since my dad had left for a few months on business.

I went to sleep happier, could actually get a few hours of sleep without being woken by the sting of bruises, got better grades, and most importantly, I just felt better about myself in general.

This morning, I woke up to silence. Which was nice, but made me feel uncomfortable.

My mother was never home anymore, she would leave after work to go out with friends, and come back sometime early in the morning. But on her days off, she wouldn't show up until dinner time, just to disappear a mere hour later anyways. And although I miss her, I take advantage of the serenity I have without her screaming in my ear every second.

So I turned on the stereo to a popular radio station, cranked up the volume, and entertained myself with dancing and singing while I got ready for another day at school.

You love to drink, so do we!

Get more bottles, bring 'em to me.

My voice was rough and low, and the pitch jumped around as I hopped in place into my dark grey slacks.

Hold ya glasses up, people everywhere

Now everybody put your hands in the air

I searched around my room for my white blouse, because I just had it on my bed a second ago. As I made my way around the room, I stopped to look at the time and almost screamed. I was so going to be late for school. Which was just a big no. Blaine Anderson was never late.

I finally found my shirt, threw it on, grabbed my all too familiar blue blazer with red piping and ran downstairs, throwing my books together and running out the door to my car, sliding in and pulling out of the driveway with haste.

The day seriously couldn't get any worse.

I had been late for my first class, in which I was humiliated by the teacher while all of the boys laughed along. Though I don't blame them, running into class in a sweat with my shirt not even done up and my tie a mess is really silly.

Then I had forgotten some homework, tripped over someone's foot in the hallway, and completely failed a Science pop quiz.

But now things were going to get better, because I was about to do the one thing that makes me happy.

I made my way through the hallways, jumping between people, saying hi to friends along the way.

I looked at the pocket watch my grandfather gave me when I was young, checking the time. I had a few minutes to spare so I slowed down, just before being tackled from behind.

"Anderson! Shouldn't you be getting ready?" A deep voice called from behind. I shook the figure off my back, turned around on heel and came face to face with Wes, a good friend of mine and a member of the Warblers.

"I should be asking you the same question, Wes." I smiled, rubbing the back of my neck. "And let's be real, I'm always ready." I smirked.

"Keep that attitude up Anderson and I'm taking all of your solos, got it?" Wes joked before brushing past me, giving me a quick pat on the shoulder. I watched as Wes made his way with the crowd down the stairs, boys literally squeezed together, all trying to go to the same place.

I decided I would stand there for a moment or two, at least until most people got down the stairs, and hopefully in one piece.

This, this was amazing. All of the hype for the school's a capella group was intense, and though it made me feel so important, I still felt some sort of emptiness inside.

Adjusting the strap on my messenger bag, I began to walk with the last few stragglers of boys heading down the marble staircase. I glanced at my pocket watch again, and holy shit look at the time I'm so going to get yelled a-

"Excuse me!"

I stopped in my tracks, looking up at the boy who called at me.

"Uhm- hi, can I ask you a question? I'm new here." He said, clutching onto the rail for support.

I blinked twice, looking up at the boy with curious eyes. He wasn't exactly in uniform, and even if he was new here, he knew that there were prefects floating around that would answer all questions for him. But the boy's delicate face just looked so confused that I couldn't help but smile.

"My name's Blaine." I said, taking the boy's hand and shaking it firmly. The boy looked down at our hands meshed together, a look of surprise on his face.

"Kurt." Was all that he could say in almost a whisper.

I pulled my hand away, maybe Kurt wasn't one for contact. So I just stood there awkwardly, staring up at Kurt with kind eyes and wait what was his question again?

"So what exactly is going on?" Kurt asked.

This came as a shock to me again. Seriously, the guy had no clue what was going on? I studied him for a second longer, he defiantly didn't go here. But instead of calling him out on it right away, I thought I'd play this out for a while. There had to be a reason he was here anyways.

"The Warblers!" I exclaimed. Seeing the excitement and confusion on Kurt's face, I kept going.

"Every now and then, they throw an impromptu performance in the Senior Commons." I explained.

Kurt's face twisted in a way that was completely adorable and so sad.

I almost felt for him, recalling the first time I had stepped into Dalton, in my crisp uniform which I had grown to love over time. I was so scared, and so confused, but everything was just so much better compared to my previous school.

"It tends to shut the school down for a while." I finished, readjusting my shoulder strap as we both looked into the narrow hallway where what seemed like an infinite amount of young men were all moving quickly in one direction, yelling over top of each other's voices.

"So wait- the Glee club here is kind of cool?" Kurt asked, more confusion written all over his face. I smiled once again- yup, he wasn't from around here.

"The Warblers are like-" I tried to think of a comparison that was good enough to explain just how good the Warblers were. "Rockstars." I ended. Kurt raised a brow, and I laughed under my breath. If he didn't believe me, I'd just have to show him myself. Plus- I was going to be late.

"Come on, I know a shortcut." I assured him, grabbing Kurt's delicate hand and practically dragging him off the stairs to follow me the opposite way of the crowds.
