Chapter 12

Usually when Blaine drops Toronto off at school, he'll stop to chat with his teacher, who is always so kind. However, today she was occupied talking to someone else. He was tall, with bright green eyes and bushy red hair. Blaine chuckled, probably a Weasley. The man handed something to her, telling her she'd forgotten it at home again. She giggled and he kissed her cheek and left, nearly bumping into Blaine.

"That's Mr. Percy," Toronto had whispered to Blaine. "He works with my dad, but he's married to my teacher."

For Kurt sitting through work on Friday was brutal. The day dragged on as he bounced through it, excited for the evening he and Percy had planned. Percy wasn't too fond of public outings with Kurt, for obvious reasons. If someone were to see them, he would have a lot of explaining to do. But tonight they were doing it, and hopefully they wouldn't have to pretend they were on a buisness meeting again. Percy and Kurt went straight from work to their date, so Anali wouldn't be suspicious and doubt their "working late" lie.

Blaine and Toronto sat on Blaine's couch, the Lion King playing for them in HD. For the third time that day. Neither of them were watching it. Blaine, who had his mind set on Chinese food tonight, even though Kurt had canceled, turned to look at Toronto.

"What do you say we go out to eat, little man?" The boy nodded, hopping off the couch and hurrying to put his shoes on.

"Then can we rent a movie and come back here a watch it?"

"Sure," Blaine chuckled, ruffling his hair. "Put your sweater on first."

When the pair reached the restaurant, Toronto was so caught up in listing movies they could watch, that he wasn't paying any attention to what was going on around him. But Blaine was aware and that's why he saw it. Kurt was there eating with another guy. So, that's why he canceled, Blaine thought, he got a better offer. Upon entering the restaurant, he told the hostess he was here to pick an order up, which he'd placed on their way there. She nodded and directed him to the back where they did pick ups.

"Toronto, why don't you wait up here?" Blaine asked, having the small boy sit at the front of the store. He didn't want him going and crashing Kurt's date. Although, maybe that wouldn't be so bad, Blaine thought heading towards the back. But, when he looked over his shoulder and saw who Kurt was with, he realized it's best Toronto doesn't see him. Kurt looked up and saw Blaine, eyes growing like a deer in headlights, then he turned his eyes back to Percy as if he hadn't seen Blaine.

He was angry, incredibly angry that Kurt had cancelled on him to go on a date with Percy. Percy, being the husband of his son's teacher. This man is married; married to someone very instrumental in his son's future. What was Kurt thinking?

Blaine retrieved their meal and payed, quickly exiting and taking Toronto with him. They found themselves at the video store, Toronto going through every inch of their family and kids section, before giving up. "Can I get a movie from my house?" He'd asked Blaine, who agreed.

After seeing Blaine, Kurt was reluctant to stick around for much longer. Once they'd finished their dinner and payed the bill, they made their way to Kurt's house, trusting Toronto would be spending the night at Blaine's, as planned. Kurt had unlocked the door, the two of them entering. Then Percy had him pinned to the door, kissing him so passionately Kurt had dropped his keys, mouthing inching open.

Blaine cleared his throat and suddenly the men and their lips were miles apart. Kurt and Perch and Blaine and Toronto all just stared at each other. Until finally Toronto spoke, with a watery voice, "aren't you married to Mrs. Dutton?"

"That I am." Percy admitted, looking at his shoes. "I should go."

"Wait, Percy," Kurt began, but he didn't stop. "Toronto," but his son's eyes began to water and he ran into his room. It was just Kurt and Blaine standing and staring at each other. Kurt was crying, while Blaine looked harshly at him. "I didn't know you two would be here."

Blaine shrugged like he was considering that. "Okay," he nodded, "did you know that man was married?"

"I'm sorry." Kurt pleaded.

"Married to your son's teacher," Blaine continued as though Kurt hasn't spoken.

"I'm sorry." Kurt reiterates.

"What were you thinking?" Blaine demands.

"I didn't know she was Toronto's teachers when Percy and I first started." Kurt explained.

"But you knew he was married!" Blaine yelled. Kurt shouted back another apology. This time Blaine listened. "Don't apologize to me, apologize to his wife. And your son." The last part hurt more than maybe Blaine intended. Kurt let out a small whimper. Blaine sighed and started walking towards Kurt, who lightened up thinking Blaine was coming to hug him. He was wrong. Blaine simply stepped past him and opened the door. "I might have to take a raincheck on dinner tomorrow."

Kurt didn't bother trying to stop him, he just went straight to his room. Lying on his bed he tried not to cry, but it was hard not to. He knew he was screwing things up with Blaine and Percy, even Toronto. He was stressed out and angry with himself.

"I want to go to Blaine's house." A small voice demanded. Kurt hadn't even heard Toronto leave his room, but now he was standing glaring at his father.

"Go to bed right now." Kurt hadn't meant to snap at him, but he was just upset. He was angry with Blaine now, too. For yelling at him and making him feel awful about a situation he didn't mean to end up in and for making his son love him more than Kurt. With huff, Toronto stormed back to his bed, while Kurt curled around himself and began to cry.
