The Hudson-Hummel family ate dinner in awkward silence that night. Finn shot Kurt a dirty look when Kurt assured his father that he was doing fine adjusting to high school. Kurt held his breath anxiously as Burt asked Finn if anything interesting had happened in school that day. He shrugged his shoulders halfheartedly and gave his stepfather a tightlipped smile before shoving a forkful of roasted potatoes into his mouth. Carole scolded Finn for his wolfish eating habits, then proceeded to engage Burt in a conversation about a new movie she was hoping they could watch on their next date night. Kurt finished off the last of his dinner before excusing himself from the table and ran down to his room. He threw himself onto his bed and reached for his phone, intending to call Clarissa and update her on the days events. He audibly gasped when his phone lit up to reveal that he had eighteen new text messages. Every single one was from Blaine.

'Well gawsh golly, I'm sorry Mr. Prude.'

'Well, I guess I'm just going to have to annoy you relentlessly until you pay attention to me.'

Kurt ignored the last of the messages. He turned off his phone and shoved it into his nightstand drawer. Suddenly the idea of Finn beating Blaine o a pulp sounded much more appealing.
