Kurt had never served a detention before. When he reported to detention after school the next day, he was prepared for the worst. The detention room smelled thickly of cigarette smoke and coffee. Kurt wrapped his new Burberry scarf tightly over his mouth and nose, inhaling the signature scent of his favorite vanilla and apricot lotion. He took a seat at a desk in the front row and waited patiently for the detention moderator to arrive. He was surprised to find that no other students came into the detention room. He refused to believe that he was the only kid in a school of over 600 students to have received a detention. To his great displeasure, he wasn't the only student. He'd been waiting about ten minutes when the detention moderator, a tall blonde woman wearing a navy blue track suit, followed closely by none other than Blaine Anderson.

"Late as usual, Anderson."

Blaine scoffed on his way to his seat, a desk in the third row. Kurt audibly gulped as he felt Blaine's eyes on the back of his head.

"In trouble already new kid? What're you here for? Sucking some guy off in the janitors closet?" A devilish smile spread across his lips as Kurt turned to glare at him.

The detention moderator rolled her eyes in disgust as she looked over a clipboard, which she tucked into her bag before speaking.

"Now listen up bottom feeders, as you know, I could care less about watching over you delinquents, so instead of doing so, I'm going to be in my office working on things that will actually benefit me. If I come back and you two aren't here, I'll make sure you're in detention everyday for the rest of your high school careers."

With that, the woman stomped out of the room. As much as Kurt wanted to protest, he knew it was pointless, the teacher was already gone. He felt his heart race with terror as he heard the door slam shut and he was left alone with Blaine. Kurt did his best to appear calm as Blaine moved to the desk next to him.

"So, doll face, what really landed you in here?"

Kurt remained silent, pulling out some textbooks from his bag so he could start on his home work.

"Giving me the silent treatment for that little slush incident yesterday? How cliche."

Kurt rolled his eyes, attempting to concentrate on the pile of French homework he had before him. Blaine smirked before angling his chair to face Kurt.

"So, you're gay right? Well, who am I kidding, you wore a fucking corset yesterday," Blaine said with a snort.

Fueled with anger Kurt pulled his Post Its out of his bag, scribbled a brief message and thrust it in Blaine's direction.

'Fashion has no gender.'

Blaine burst into a fit of raucous laughter after he read the message, crumpling the Post It in his fist.

"Ok, I'm just going to pretend I didn't read that." He waited until his laughter had subsided before continuing, "So, the rumors are true, you are mute. That's some fucked up shit. I couldn't go a day without talking."

Kurt angrily wrote out a new message.

'I can see that.'

Blaine's expression quickly turned sour.

"You think you're funny, huh, new kid? You're lucky I haven't tried to burn one of my cigarettes out on your precious McQueen jacket yet, and thats only because you're kind of cute, in a weird baby lamb kind of way."

Kurt scoffed before handing him his next message.

'Screw you.'

"With pleasure." Blaine winked before returning his chair to its original position, kicked his feet up on the desk and lit a cigarette.

To Kurt's surprise, Blaine really did leave him alone after that. He breathed a sigh of relief before turning back to his French homework. He worked diligently until the blonde, track suit clad woman shouted into the room.

"You can go home now, maggots."

Kurt began to pack up his bag when he realized he was missing one vitally important item. His precious cellphone. He searched his bag inside and out, patted his pockets, and searched the desk frantically for his phone.

"Looking for this?" Blaine held up Kurt's iPhone, a look of triumph on his face.

Kurt clenched the strap of his bag tightly as he pondered what he could do in his current predicament. He swallowed hard before stepping towards Blaine slowly, then lunging for his phone. He hadn't even brushed Blaine when he realized his wrist was suddenly pinned behind his back. Blaine snickered at Kurt's defenselessness.

"You're gonna have to beg for it if you want it," he whispered into Kurt's ear.

Kurt let out a whimper as he struggled to grab the phone with his free hand, but Blaine kept pushing it further out of his reach. Kurt soon reached his wits end and decided to abandon his inner inhibitions and do what Finn had always taught him to do. Fight back. Kurt threw the toe of his shoe as hard as he could against Blaine's crotch, causing him to double over in pain. Blaine dropped Kurt's phone as he let out a howl of pain and fell to the ground, curled in the fetal position. Kurt quickly grabbed his phone off the desk, grabbed his books, and ran out of the classroom. He ran as fast as he could to the front of the school, where Finn was waiting for him to get out of detention. Finn caught sight of Kurt running over to him and quickly bounced off the ledge he was sitting on.

"Hey, slow down, are you okay?" he asked, holding Kurt steady by his shoulders.

"I'm f-fine, l-lets go h-home."

"Are you sure you're okay? Was someone bothering you? Did something happen in detention?"

"N-no, it's just…the smell in there made me sick, I needed to get away from it."

"Oh, I know what you mean, I hate the smell in there!" Finn released Kurt's shoulders with a smile and began to ramble on about his experiences in detention as they walked to Finn's car.

Kurt didn't listen to a word of Finn's rambling during the drive home, as he was too busy processing the events that had just occurred not even ten minutes ago. He knew Blaine would make his life hell starting tomorrow. He'd slushied him and stolen his phone for no reason, and now he had a reason to be upset with him. Kurt's body became with paralyzed with fear as he thought about what lay in store for him tomorrow. Kurt's terror intensified when his phone went off once he got home. He saw that he had a text message from a contact he didn't even know he had. Blaine Anderson.

'I didn't expect you to fight back. You're feisty. I like feisty.'

Kurt bit down on his lip, contemplating whether or not he should respond to the text. Before he could make up his mind he received another text from Blaine.

'In case you haven't figured it out, I took the liberty of adding myself as a contact in your phone, so now you can send me all the sexts you want.'

Kurt rolled his eyes after reading the sleazy text and decided to respond with a brief message that would surely discourage Blaine's antics.

'Fuck off.'

He tossed his phone onto his bed and began to peel away some of his extra layers of clothing, so he could move around more comfortably. While he was undoing his silver vest his phone went off again. His brow furrowed as he leaned over to get his phone. He groaned when he saw that he had a new text from Blaine. He couldn't believe that this guy couldn't get the message.

'Wow, you actually wrote back. I thought you couldn't talk?'

Kurt rolled his eyes. He didn't think he'd ever met anyone this stupid in his entire life, well, except for Finn, but he was an exception.

'What did you expect me to send back? A blank text?'

'Pretty much.'

'You're as intelligent as you are charming.'

Kurt instantly regretted sending his last message. He shouldn't have even replied to Blaine's first text. He should've just ignored it. Instead, he'd written back, and with each text he sent he only fed into Blaine's trap for him.

'Your sarcasm is appreciated.'

'It wasn't sarcasm.'

Kurt smiled at his final reply.

"Kurt, dinner!" called Carole.

"Coming!" Kurt shoved his phone into his nightstand drawer. He didn't dare bring his phone dinner, for fear that Blaine would reply to him during dinner, causing his phone to go off, which would undoubtedly lead to intense questioning from Burt as to who he was texting at such a time.

He stepped out of his basement level room and walked up the stairs that led directly to the kitchen hallway. Kurt soon found himself ambushed in the hallway before he could make it to the kitchen. Finn pinned him to the wall by his shoulders, looking around the hallway anxiously.

"Finn, what the hell?" Finn shushed Kurt as he quickly glanced toward the kitchen, checking if anyone had noticed them.

Once he was sure that Carole and Burt hadn't noticed Kurt's sudden outburst, he turned back to his petite stepbrother.

"Why didn't you tell me Blaine slushed you yesterday?" he asked, a hurt expression spreading over his usually cheerful face.

"How did you find out about that?" Kurt looked away from Finn, knowing he couldn't resist the famous Finn-Hudson-kicked-puppy-look.

Finn stepped away from Kurt and crossed his arms across his chest, giving him a knowing look.

"Rachel isn't a very good at keeping secrets."

Kurt made a mental note to never tell Rachel Berry any of his secrets, and filed it away in the back of his mind, for future reference.

"Yeah, so what, he does it everyone. It's not a big deal, Finn."

"Yes it is, Kurt! You've only been at McKinley for two days, and you were already slushied and given a detention. I…I just want to make sure that you're time in high school is something you'll look back on and smile…not something you'll regret."

Kurt was prepared to object, but quickly shut his mouth after Finn spoke. He and Finn had been stepbrothers for almost a year, and he had never seen Finn so concerned for him as he did in that moment. A small smile spread across his lips as he patted his much taller stepbrother on the shoulder.

"Thanks Finn, I really appreciate that, but really, it's nothing you should be concerned about. Blaine Anderson is just some loser with nothing better to do than go around throwing slushies at new kids. Like I said, its nothing."

Finn wrenched his shoulder away from Kurt before he began to speak again, his voice raising several octaves.

"But you don't understand! Blaine is a terrible, terrible person. It's his fault I'm not on the football team anymore! Him bullying you just gives me another reason to bash his face into a pulp." The color from Finn's naturally rosy cheeks spread to the rest of his face as he grew redder and redder with anger, and just a bit of jealously, towards Blaine Anderson.

Kurt sighed. He knew there was no way to talk Finn out of confronting Blaine now. Finn wasn't just upset with Blaine over the slushie incident; he was still upset about Blaine taking Kurt's position as quarterback on the football team. The slushie incident just gave Finn even more of a reason to hate Blaine, and he knew Kurt was too weak to stand up to Blaine, so he saw it as the perfect opportunity to finally confront Blaine.

"And what exactly were you expecting to do about this situation?" Kurt asked in a bored tone, knowing what Finn's response would be.

"I'm going to confront him. Tomorrow, before football practice. There may be some fighting, I don't know if you'll want to be there to see it Kurt, it may get graphic." Kurt fought back the urge to laugh at Finn's self praise.

"Finn, you make it sound like you're going to film a porno with him, not get into a fight," he managed to spit out before erupting into a fit of giggles.

Finn's cheeks tinged pink as he rolled his eyes and walked to the kitchen. Kurt quickly composed himself, wiping a tear of laughter from the corner of his eye before following Finn to the kitchen. Perhaps letting Finn and Blaine have their moment of confrontation wouldn't be so bad, Kurt thought with a smile. It would definitely give him one hell of a laugh, and at that point, he really needed a good laugh.

Finn knows Kurt isn't talking at school right? What does he say about that? Even though Blaine's an ass in this I love him in it
