EXCLUSIVE: Kurt Hummel comes clean about his relationship with Rachel Berry!

Well-loved Broadway star, Rachel Berry, and grammy-award winning singer, Kurt Hummel, have decided to come public with their relationship, we can exclusively reveal. There have been rumours circulating for months about the couple, since it was discovered last September that the two have been living together for several years. They have, in fact, been sharing an apartment since they moved to New York together after leaving high school, as Kurt revealed in our exclusive interview. Read it here:

Q: So, Kurt, why have you decided that now's the right time to come clean about you and Rachel?

A: Well we've been together for nearly a year now. We didn't want people knowing early on in case it didn't work out the way it has, but we're comfortable together now. We don't want to have to hide the truth anymore.

Q: Do you want to tell us the story of the romance that's had people speculating for months?

A: (laughs) Sure! I guess you could call us high school sweethearts. We've been best friends since our junior year, and then when we realised that we both wanted to go to college in New York, we decided that we wanted to do it together. It was easier on both of us financially and emotionally to just get an apartment together, so that's what we did. We haven't been in a romantic relationship for the entire time, but about a year ago it started heading in that direction, and now here we are!

Q: And are you happy with how things have turned out?

A: I fell in love with my best friend. What is there to be unhappy about?

We're sure fans are going to be absolutely ecstatic about this exciting news.

Tina laughed out loud once she'd finished reading the article over Blaine's shoulder.

"See I told you that they were together!" she said gleefully.

"Yes, okay, I was wrong, you were right. Are you happy?" Blaine replied, sticking his tongue out at her.

"Extremely! You know it's only... One week until we meet him, right? I seriously can't wait!" she was bouncing up and down slightly at the idea of finally meeting her idol, and Blaine had to admit that he was pretty excited too.

They'd both been avid followers of Kurt Hummel and his career since they'd found his cover of 'Blackbird' on YouTube three years ago. His voice was hauntingly beautiful and incredibly unique, something which had helped him exponentially in his rise to fame. Currently, he was going around the country promoting his new album, which he was signing copies of in several music stores. That was how it wound up that Blaine and Tina would be meeting him in just a few days, and Blaine couldn't wait.

Tina was fuming. Blaine could tell. He had no idea what was happening, but she'd just hung up the phone looking angrier than he'd ever seen her.

"You okay, T?" he asked her, tentatively. She spun round to look at him, but instead of answering let out a frustrated grunt and stormed off to her bedroom. Blaine sighed, hoping that this wasn't about her relationship with Mike again. The couple had been fighting more and more recently, and Blaine was getting worried about an impending break up. He desperately wanted them to stay together though, as they'd managed to last since high school.

He got up and knocked quietly on Tina's door, not wanting to disturb her, but needing to know that she was okay.

"Tina? Can I come in?" he called softly. There was a sniff, and a quiet confirmation, so he opened the door.

All in all it was better than he'd expected. Tina was sat on the edge of her bed with tears in her eyes, but just looked resigned and frustrated rather than overly upset.

"You wanna talk about it?" Blaine asked. Him and Tina had always been close, and generally told each other everything. Tina sighed, and patted the bed next to her.

"You're going to laugh at me." she said. Blaine was taken aback.

"Come on, when have I ever laughed at you?" he said incredulously.

"Okay then. So the reason I'm so upset is because I just got off the phone with my boss and he told me that I have to work all day Saturday." Blaine was confused.

"But... You've worked Saturdays before! I don't get wha-" Then it clicked, and Blaine honestly did have to stifle a laugh. "You can't come to see Kurt with me, can you?"

"See I told you you'd laugh!" she said, pointing an accusatory finger at him. Apparently his stifling hadn't been as successful as he'd thought.

"I'm sorry, really. But it's not worth getting this upset over is it? There'll be other opportunities to meet him!" he said, putting an arm around her shoulders in what he thought was a comforting move. Tina just looked at him disdainfully.

"How would you feel if it was the other way around, huh? You'd lock yourself in your room for hours with his album on a loop to 'drown your sorrows', and then you'd make me feel guilty for even considering going without you. So you don't get to laugh at me for being annoyed and a bit upset that I can't go!"

"You make me sound like a five year old!" Blaine complained, but he knew she was probably right. Tina just gave him another look, one that obviously said 'shut up and go away'.

"Look I'm not that upset really, I'm just frustrated. But you're right, I'll get to meet him some other time. Now, we need to finish deciding what you're going to wear when you go."

Blaine shuffled forwards, about half way through the huge queue outside the music store. He'd received several texts from Tina already, and as his phone buzzed yet again he pulled it out to see what she had to say. The latest message simply read 'I hate you', and Blaine laughed quietly before shoving it back in his pocket. He'd reply later, hopefully with a picture of him and Kurt to send too.

He rounded the next corner, and he could tell that he was getting close. There were security guards standing around everywhere, although why one guy needed so much protection Blaine would never know. The queue kept moving slowly forwards, and he occupied himself singing quietly under his breath. He'd been working on writing his own song for the last couple of weeks, and he thought he might have finally worked out how to write the last line.

He took another couple of steps forward, bouncing slightly as his feet started to ache. He'd been waiting for nearly three hours now, and of course it was worth it, but he couldn't deny he was tired. And he needed to pee.

He shoved those thoughts from his head though, and focused on the fact that he was pretty sure Kurt was sat just the other side of the shelf to his right. If he moved just a few inches forward he could peer round the edge and-

He could see him. He could see Kurt Hummel. His idol, and the man he had an indecently large crush on. Blaine was completely freaking out, and did a dorky little dance in his excitement, one which he really hoped no one else had seen.

Of course that meant he had completely missed the fact that the queue had moved forward, far enough in fact that Blaine was now seven people from the front. He whipped out his phone and quickly dialled Tina's number.

"Blaine! Oh my god have you met him?" she cried as soon as she answered.

"No! I'm like, shit, six people from the front of the line. But T, what if I make a complete fool out of myself? What if he laughs at me? What if he isn't as amazing in real life as he seems in interviews? Oh god, what am I saying? Of course he will be... Oh my god, only four people left in front of me!" Blaine could hear Tina laughing at him down the phone and scowled, waiting for her to calm down.

"Are you done?" he snapped.

"Oh Blaine, you just need to calm down. You're worrying too much. Firstly, you're adorable, that's not a problem as long as you're just yourself. Secondly, you're going to be speaking to him for what, like two minutes, at the most? Sorry to burst your bubble honey, but he's not going to even remember who you are by the end of the day."

Blaine paused and considered that. He guessed she was right, and the thought was both comforting and upsetting. Comforting because he could make an idiot out of himself and Kurt wouldn't remember, but upsetting because he knew he was going to have no impact on the guy who'd affected his life so much. The guy who'd inspired him to continue playing and creating music.

"Okay, I know you're right. Consider me calmed down. Well, slightly more than I was before."

"I know a stupid wink accompanied that. Get off the phone and prepare yourself!" she told him. He grinned and acknowledged that she was right, before hanging up the phone, taking a deep breath. There was now only one person left before him, although they were now stepping up to where Kurt was sitting, looking perfect as always.

An attendant tapped him on the arm then, asking if he had a camera or phone that he'd like her to take pictures of him and Kurt with. He scrabbled around for a second in his bag, before pulling out his old camera and handing to her, barely acknowledging the smile she flashed at him.

Before he knew it, the security guard next where Kurt was sat waved him forward and he walked quickly, tripping just before the desk and flushing bright red. He looked up to see Kurt grinning kindly at him.

"Hi, I'm Kurt. And what's your name?"

End Notes: And there's chapter one! I know there was quite a lot of build up and then nothing really happened, but like I said before, bear with me! Also, I don't really know how signings go in the US, because I'm English, but that's pretty much how it was when I went to a book signing with Michael McIntyre. So, yeah. I hope you liked it!

Hi there - I like it so far can't wait to see where you take it although just wondering if Kurt and Rachel are really together or just acting like they are together for the public? :)

Thanks! At this point they're actually together and Kurt believes he's straight, but all that will get explained later on in the story :)
