Blaine woke up to find that he was sweating profusely. Kurt was wrapped tightly around his torso. His left hand draped across Blaine's chest and his legs were swung over his waist. Kurt snored softly, his button nose flaring every few seconds as his chest expanded and heaved slowly.
Blaine lowered his lips down and pressed a chaste kiss on the boy's forehead, before gently untangling Kurt's limbs away from his body. Kurt's skin was basically on fire, no wonder Blaine had beads of sweat all over his body. When he pulled his arm from under Kurt's neck, the boy stirred around and groaned at the lost of skin contact. His eyes shot open and looked at Blaine confusingly.
"Go back to bed, baby. I just need to get a glass of water," He whispered to Kurt before planting a soft kiss on his lips. Kurt smiled weakly and nuzzled himself back into the pillow, falling asleep almost immediately.
He took Kurt's jacket that was lying limb on the computer chair before ascending up the stairs to the kitchen. Blaine was surprised when he pushed the door open and found Burt bent over, his elbows flat on the kitchen counter- a deep sob coming from the man.
"Mr Hummel?" Blaine said cautiously as he approach Kurt's father.
Burt was startled. He jumped at the mention of his name and almost trip over his own two feet. "Blaine- what are you doing up it's three in the morning." Burt stammered through his words as he tried with all his might to wipe away his tears that were still streaming despite Blaine's presence.
"I- I'm sorry," Burt apologize, though Blaine simply gape sympathetically at the man. "It's okay, Mr Hummel. What the doctor said wasn't easy to hear- especially when you're his father." Blaine said timidly, feeling a bit awkward to be standing in front of a crying Mr Hummel.
"It's just- I know he wasn't going to live long. I know the cancer would one day take him away from me, but now that it's here..it's feels more real than ever. His mother shared the same fate, you know? She died of cancer too." Burt revealed. Blaine never really knew the story of Kurt's mother. Kurt had only mention his mother once, back when they had exchange information to each other- the night Blaine first kissed Kurt.
"She didn't really live very long though. She died two months after being diagnosed. Kurt was a mess when she died. He refused to eat, he screamed in the middle of the night- it was a very dark time for the both of us. After some time, he finally accepted his mother's death, but he hated cancer for taking her away from him.
"When he was diagnosed, he didn't take it very well- who would, right?- I walked past his room one night and I heard him crying, and he was sort of praying to his mother. Asking her to take away his cancer. Asked her, to heal him."
A warm, salty tear rolled down Blaine's cheek as he envisioned Kurt, his Kurt, curled up on a bed crying himself to sleep. It stung his heart, the image. "After some time, he accepted it though. But some times I would hear him cry himself to sleep. Even now. You helped him, though, Blaine."
Blaine stared at Burt confusingly, "Helped him?"
"When he met you, he stopped crying as much. I saw a light in his eyes when you came into his life- a light that died when his mother passed, and when he was diagnosed with cancer. He was miserable, before he met you. You brought happiness back into his life, Blaine. Something I thought nobody, not even me, could do after everything he went through."
Burt was smiling at him, a smile that made his insides flutter in awe. Burt had only said the same thing once, when he was bidding Blaine's father goodbye, and that seemed more like a casual brush off. This time, Blaine actually felt Burt was being genuine- that he truly believed Blaine is the cause of Kurt's happiness.
"Thank you sir. Kurt deserves every bit of happiness."
"I don't know what I'm going to do when he- when he dies. The doctor said to me that they're going to allow him to spend the rest of his time at home, since they really can't do anything more to lengthen his life span. They said he's going to get weaker, and weaker everyday. They think he's not going to live past the fourth week-"
"W-what?" An innocent voice came from behind Blaine. He spun around and found Kurt, standing there at the door frame, his sleepy eyes stung with tears- a look Blaine hated to see on the love of his life. "K-Kurt, why are you up-"
"Is it true? Am I- am I going to die in a couple of weeks?" His voice was broken, fear littered everywhere in his speech as he mumbled the words with his soft, precious lips.
Blaine was in horror, his eyes widen in shock at the sight of Kurt over hearing what Burt had said. "Kurt you weren't suppose to know.." Burt was shaking where he stood, his eyes fixated at his son in utter shock.
"Why? Why, dad?" Kurt's voice broke as his tears streamed down his flawless cheeks. Blaine made a step towards Kurt, but the boy backed away as if in fear Blaine might hurt him. "Don't, Blaine," Kurt mumbled under his breath.
"We didn't want to scare you, Kurt. I want you to be happy. I don't want you to be scared-"
"I deserve to know when I'm going to die, dad!" Kurt screamed shakily. "You can't keep something like that from me! I know my cancer was going to kill me one day!" Kurt knew he was being irrational. Deep inside, he agreed. He wish he hadn't over heard their conversation.
"Kurt, please listen to your dad. We only hid it from you because we didn't want you to be scared. We wanted to see your smile-"
"That's not for you to decide, none of you!" Before they could utter a single word, Kurt ran to his bedroom, descending down the stairs, but on the last step he slipped and fell to the ground. "Kurt! Oh god Kurt-" Blaine dropped on his knees and helped Kurt to a sitting position on the ground. The boy threw his arms around Blaine's waist and started weeping into his shoulder.
"Shh, I know baby. I know," Blaine whispered comfortingly into Kurt's ear, trying to hold back his own tears- but a tear slowly fell out of his own eyes as it trailed down his cheek like a river. Every whimper, every sob that Kurt made only tighten Blaine's beating heart as he pulled the boy as close as he can to his chest.
It was awhile before Kurt's wailing finally died down to soft sobs. The jacket Blaine had on was soaked, drenched in salty, painful tears. "I'm right here, okay? I'll be here every step of the way, Kurt. I love you- so much," Blaine managed to choke out, his voice cracking at every word- not really sure what he could say to take Kurt's fear away.
"I'm scared," Kurt mumbled into Blaine's shoulder.
"I know you are. I wish there was something I could do. It kills me that I can't protect you from this, Kurt."
Kurt stifled out a sob as he tighten his grip around Blaine's waist. Neither of them notice that Burt was sitting on the middle step of the staircase, watching his son cry his eyes out to his boyfriend. "I know this would come sooner or later, but I just-"
"It's okay to be scared, Kurt. I know you are, but I'm here. I'll be here."
"I love you so much, Blaine." Kurt whimpered.
"I know, and I love you too. Come on, lets get you back in bed." Blaine helped Kurt to his feet and slowly brought him to the big king sized mattress, before getting under the covers behind Kurt. The door shut as Burt left the room.
"Please don't be angry at your dad, or me. We thought not telling you was the best option. We wanted that bright beautiful smile on your face. We didn't want you to be miserable. You're his world, Kurt. You're my world." Blaine said as he draped his arm around Kurt, pulling the boy closer into his arms.
"I know," Kurt stifle as another sob escaped his lips. "Can you promise me something?" Kurt asked timidly.
"Anything, Kurt. Anything."
"Can you promise- that you'll always remember me once I'm..I'm gone?"
Blaine tighten his wrap around Kurt's frame, almost feeling offended by the question. "Kurt, you are the only boy that I will ever, ever love. Please don't ever ask me that again. You'll always be alive in my heart, I told you that." Blaine kissed the back of Kurt's earlobe and the boy stifled out another sob before he leaned into Blaine's embrace and slowly drifted into sleep.
"I love you, Kurt." Blaine whispered into the silent room before drifting off, to the sweet scent of Kurt's neck.
---------
Morning came and Kurt woke up, feeling uncomfortably weak- more so than he was the night before. He could barely move in his own bed. When he searched around the bed with his hand, he was glad to fine the familiar warmth and skin laid beside him.
"Mmm, good morning beautiful," Blaine mumbled before wrapping his arm around Kurt's waist.
Kurt only managed a weak smile, closing his eyes to fight back his tears. "Hey, please don't cry, Kurt. I love you, so much." Blaine pushed himself up so his face was hovering over Kurt's crying blue eyes. He used his thumb and stroked Kurt's jawline, not really sure how to comfort Kurt- he hated feeling useless.
"It's just- I'm never going to hear you say that to me again. I'm never going to hear your sleepy voice, I'm never going to hear you call me beautiful. I'm never going to have your lips on mine. I'm scared- I'm scared because I don't know what lies after death."
"Nobody knows, Kurt. But you gotta have faith. Think about your mother. Think about how you're going to see her. Think about how you're going to be reunited with her." Blaine tried, but Kurt's tears were still streaming down his cheeks.
"Please baby, I'm here. I know you're scared, but I love you, please. I don't want to see you cry, I want to see your smile. I melt at your beautiful, beautiful smile. Please, baby." Blaine begged, his lips tracing small tiny kisses on Kurt's neck.
Kurt's sobs gradually began to recede in response. He lingered his fingers on Blaine's arms as his body responded to each small kiss, tickling the sensitive skin on his neck. Blaine suck on each flesh he kissed, making Kurt whimper quietly.
He slid his hands up Kurt's thigh then rested on the small portion below his ass. Blaine could feel Kurt's growing erection on his stomach, pressing against his abdominal muscles. Thrusting his hips gently onto Kurt, Blaine could almost feel Kurt's entrance muscle through the fabric.
He slid his hand up Kurt's raggy t shirt and the boy moaned out something that strangely sounded like Blaine's name. Using the two of his fingers, Blaine touched Kurt's sensitive nipple, pinching them slightly- teasing them. "Blaine.." Kurt whimpered under his breath.
His eyes were tightly shut, but little tears slipped out of his eyelids, trailing down the side of his face. "I love you, Kurt- I love you so much," Blaine whispered into the boy's ear before licking the earlobes, which made Kurt groan quietly.
Kurt lifted his hips up an inch, and Blaine took it as an approval. He started to slowly pull Kurt's pyjama pants down, careful to trail kisses down the boy's stomach. Kurt dug his fingers into Blaine's dark curls, yearning for more. Once his pants were off, Blaine proceeded on to lift the t shirt off Kurt's torso.
Kurt followed willingly, but the tears still stung on his closed eyelids. "I love you," Blaine whispered before taking Kurt's lips on his own. He pulled his his boxer briefs off and chugged it to the floor, not wanting to allow Kurt a moment to think.
Blaine ran his hands up and down Kurt's beautiful, flawless body. Kurt reciprocated Blaine's kiss hungrily, his tongue swirling with no particular expertise. Every touch set fire on Blaine's skin, the heat of Kurt's skin was becoming unbearable but he couldn't stop. He needed to keep Kurt off his thoughts, keep him distracted.
Blaine started to pull Kurt's legs up so his knees were bent and his heels dug deep into the mattress. He groaned when Kurt grabbed a handful of his ass. Blaine started to plant small tiny kisses down Kurt's neck, slowly down to his chest, kissing and carefully biting the tip of each of Kurt's nipple. The boy's body tensed when Blaine's teeth contacted with the sensitive nipple.
He proceeded on to lick Kurt's stomach, kissing each surface of flesh descending down to Kurt's penis. "Blaine.." Kurt whimpered, his legs grew rigid and tense when Blaine kissed the head of his erection.
With no hesitation, he took Kurt's length into his mouth, Kurt moaning at the sudden warmness around his erection, "Oh god- Blaine," Kurt moaned softly. His nails digging into the sheets of the mattress, his calve muscles tense as if they were going to tear off his flesh.
Blaine took Kurt's entire length into his mouth, his tongue swirling and licking the veins on the sides, until the head was touching the back of his throat. He tighten his lips together before slowly pulling back. Kurt threw his head back at the sensation of having Blaine's mouth around him. His blue orbs rolled back into his skull.
"Fuck! Blaine- Oh god Blaine," Kurt groaned. His hips jerk forward, wanting the warmth of Blaine's mouth around his erection to stay, but Blaine pulled out before taking Kurt inside his mouth again, the boy whimpering when the warmth was again wrapped around his erection.
He followed a rhythm of pulling out with his lips tighten, then taking the erection inside his mouth to the back of his throat. Kurt whimpered every time his head touched the heat inside Blaine's mouth. Blaine could feel his own erection twitch every time a sinful moan left Kurt's mouth.
Using his index finger, Blaine graze the tip of his fingernail on Kurt's sensitive entrance. "Shit- Oh fuck Blaine-" Kurt shrilled when his hole was exploited. Blaine brought his hand up to Kurt and pushed his finger through Kurt's beautifully soft lips. The boy didn't take a second. He began sucking on Blaine's finger, moistening them.
Blaine brought his wet finger to Kurt's entrance and pushed it inside of the boy. His ring muscles tighten at the intrusion and Kurt began stirring where he laid. Blaine continued to suck of Kurt's dick, pushing the entire length to the back of his throat, and pulling out with his lips tighten.
"Blaine, I can't- I need you inside me please-" Kurt mumbled incoherently in between moans. "But Kurt, you're no stretched out enough-"
"I don't give a fuck Blaine. Fuck me, please!"
Blaine brought his lips down Kurt's erection on last time, his tongue swirling around the figure before pulling out hastily, Kurt whimpering at the sudden lost of contact. He pulled his finger out roughly, and Kurt nearly screamed, before positioning himself so that his face was above Kurt's, and his dick properly place in front of Kurt's entrance. He wasted no time, and pushed his entire length into the hole.
"Fuck! Oh fuck - fuck Blaine," Kurt whimpered. Blaine leaned down and pressed his lips onto Kurt's, drowning his cries of pleasure. He pressed his erection deeper into Kurt, searching for that spot he knew drove them both crazy. He pulled and his thrust deep, hitting that stop constantly Kurt was trembling, his fingers digging into Blaine's arms.
"So good - you're so good baby," Blaine breathed into Kurt's ear, licking earnestly on his lobes. Kurt's nails were digging into the flesh on his arms Blaine was pretty sure they were bleeding. They rhythm did not stop. Blaine continued to pound thrust deep into Kurt's anus. His breathing heavy, Kurt's as well.
"I love you so fucking much Blaine," Kurt mouthed desperately. It was strange how Kurt was so lost in the world of pleasure, but he was still able to sound convincing and truthful. "Blaine I - I'm going to- Oh fuck harder Blaine please," Kurt begged. Blaine follow through. He arched his back, pulling his dick out with only the head inside Kurt, before thrusting deep with all force he gathered.
Kurt whimpered. His legs rose to wrap around Blaine's waist, locking hit feet together. "Harder Blaine - Please," Kurt begged, and Blaine obliged. He fasten his pace of his hips, pulling in and pulling out of Kurt without taking seconds to even breathe.
"Oh fuck Blaine- I'm going to - Fuck Blaine," Kurt moaned, so Blaine wrapped his fingers around Kurt's erection and stroke on the tense dick. "Mmm fuck," Kurt moaned, and then he crumbled. He crumbled under the love of his life, shooting out his come all over Blaine's abs.
"Shit- fuck - Kurt you're so fucking tight," All the blood rushed down to his groin, the familiar heat settled on the area of his crotch and he let go inside of Kurt, the warmth filling the boy's hole. He let his hands go and dropped on top of Kurt, crushing the boy slightly but easing up so Kurt could breathe.
"I love you," Kurt whispered sadly into Blaine's ear. For awhile, Blaine was disappointed. He knew distracting Kurt with sex wasn't going to work, but a small part of him wished it did. He hated how broken Kurt's voice was.
"Please, baby. I just- it hurts to hear you sad. Please," Blaine softly begged, pressing Kurt's onto the side of Kurt's eye. "I know, I'm sorry." Kurt apologized as a tear streamed down his face. "I just- I'm going to leave you and it's scary to think about."
"Then don't. Because you won't leave me. Think about now, think about how much I love you."
"I'll try, but you need to go now."
Blaine lifted his head so he could bore his eyes into Kurt's beautiful blue orbs- that now every time he gazed at reminded him how they're going to drift out of it's light soon. "What do you mean?" Blaine asked confusingly.
"The final chemistry exam. It's going to factor into your GPA. You need to go." Kurt said.
"What about you?"
"Blaine, you know why. It won't matter if I take it." Kurt said. "But you have to."
"Kurt, I don't have to. I want to stay here with you."
"You're going to school. You're going to take the test. You're going to score, and you're going to apply to Julliard." Kurt force an encouraging smile. "Please, do this for me?"
"Okay, but I'm coming back here the moment I take that test," Blaine sighed. He slowly peeled himself off of Kurt's sweaty body and took a moment to stable his breathing laying next to the boy.
"You're going to go so far in your life, Blaine." Kurt said with a forceful smile on his face.
"Sometimes I think what my life could've been like if I hadn't met you," For awhile Kurt looked stunned, his eyes widen with sadness. "I probably wouldn't know the meaning of love."
Kurt smiled, his eyes wet his tears."
"I love you." Kurt said simply. Blaine smiled, and pressed a loving, chaste kiss on the boy's lips before getting off the bed, exposing his naked body. "Shower with me?" Blaine asked, with his big brown eyes. Kurt smiled shyly and took his hand.
"Sometimes I think what my life would've been like if I hadn't met you," Kurt said.
"And?"
"I can't, because I can't picture my life without you."
-------------
"Pens down!" exclaimed Mr Schuester.
Blaine finished his last word on the test before submitting his paper. "Mr Anderson, do you happen to know what happened to Kurt?" Mr Schuester asked before Blaine had the chance to leave the class.
"He's - urm- No I don't. He's probably sick."
"Okay well when he comes back he needs to take the test. He has one day."
"A month, actually. But okay," Blaine said sadly before leaving the class. He walked slowly to the car park, jumped into his car and made his way home, with the objective of taking some clothes because he planned on asking Mr Hummel if he could stay over for a couple of days.
"Blaine! Is that you?" The familiar voice of his father bellowed from the living room the moment Blaine slammed the door shut. "Hi, dad. Did you get back from Seattle this morning?" Blaine asked, knowing his parents had left for a meeting a few days ago.
"Yes, we did. How was school?" Mr Anderson asked teasingly.
"Fine," Blaine retorted.
"What's wrong?" Mr Anderson asked as he studied his son sombre face. "Is everything okay? How's Kurt?" He tried.
"Kurt is- he's not fine." Blaine said sadly, making his way to sit next to his father on the couch. "What do you mean? Didn't he just recover from a coma?"
"Yeah, he did. But it's his cancer, dad. It's - the doctor said he's going to lose to his cancer in a few weeks. He's so weak now."
Mr Anderson's face fell into complete shock and horror. He had barely gotten to the know the boy that his son loved to the core of the earth. "Isn't there anything they can do to make him live longer? Chemo or something?"
"No, dad. They seemed pretty certain. His cancer is terminal. Initially it should've killed him off a few months ago. It's a miracle he's been able to live this long."
"Blaine, I'm so sorry.." Mr Anderson said sympathetically, rubbing a palm up and down his son's back. A tear slowly streamed down Blaine's cheek at the comfort of his father. "I know you love him. It's unfair, I know."
Blaine sighed and wiped his tears away. "Keep the people you love close to you Blaine, for as long as you can." Mr Anderson said, and then a light switched on in Blaine's mind. He realized, what was there in front of him the entire time. "I have to go," Blaine bellowed as he dashed out of the house and into his car, his destination to The Hummels.
He knocked on the door politely, as he tried to contain his nerves. Burt pulled the white door open and smiled at the sight of Blaine. "Hello Blaine, Kurt's downstairs. But he's asleep. You can go down there though-"
"Actually, Mr Hummel. I wanted to talk to you."
----------
Kurt's eyelids flutter at the scent of lavender candles. His room was dark, so dark to the point that when he held his hand up in front of his face, all he could see was pitch black. The brightness of his iPhone blinded him for a few seconds before he blink his lashes to adjust to the lustre.
9:19pm
The digital clock read. Checking his text messages and phone call, he had none. Not even from Blaine. Sighing, he typed out a text message to Blaine asking where was him before flopping back onto his fluffy pillow.
His room was still swirling with the intoxicating smell of fresh lavender. After trying his best to ignore the smell, because he felt too lethargic to even leave his bed, Kurt forced himself up, stabling his balance by holding the nearest furniture he could reach.
Kurt had to hold the railing of the stars to ascend the stairs like he had to depend on his life by climbing up a rope on a rocky mountain. He pushed his door open and gasp at the sight.
The floor was littered with immaculate, soft rose petals, all making a blood trail out through the front door. The entire kitchen, living room and hallway were all dimly lit by the swaying light from purple candles that emit a scent so intoxicating and rousing his head was gradually developing a headache- a vicious one compared to the one he was already suffering from.
Kurt looked around the house- no one was around. The mere sight of the hauntingly romantic room gave him chills.
He took a step forward, following the claret carpet that were the rose petals, the soft texture comfortably hugging his feet as he walked. The candles cast shadows everywhere in the room, his own especially. Rose petals followed out the tiny gap between the front door and the floor. For some reason Kurt felt hesitant to pull the front door open, but he gathered his courage and turned the knob- his heart skipped a beat, a couple maybe.
Blaine stood at the far end of the stony pathway. His entire figure only vaguely lit by the gentle glow from the many, many candles that were held up by tall mental poles that branch out at the top to hold multiple candles. That were a lot of them, all standing tall on the frown lawn on both sides of the pathway.
The porch, on the other hand, had stalks of roses scattered every where to cover every inch of the plywood floor. The night sky only made the entire portrait more prominent, the tiny hairs on Kurt's arm stood at the sight. Everything else in the background was pitch black, only the beautiful painting in front of him mattered.
"Blaine, what's going on?"
The boy flashed his beautiful, quirky smile before strolling towards Kurt with medium pace. He held a hand up for Kurt to take, and led Kurt out before halting in the middle of the stony walk.
"Kurt, you are so beautiful," Blaine whispered, "You make my mouth go dry. You make my knees want to buckle every time I look a you. I have to take a few heart beats to stable my breathing every time you look at me. When you smile, it's like all the world problems are irrelevant. When you laugh, I have to physically restrain myself from kissing you so hard I end up devouring you."
"When you bat your lashes, you define the word stunning. The way your cheeks go crimson red when I tell you how beautiful you are- like now- I don't think I've ever seen anything even come close to how cute that looks. The way you smile, and how your eyes squint when you do, I want to hold you so close to me and never let you go."
"Your eyes. Your beautiful, beautiful eyes that constantly captivate me. The pallet of colours your eyes hold. The daytime sky blue that swims in your oculus. The meadow greens that mash like waves, then glints of sky yellow that sparkle them more. When you look at me- the way you look at me- it's like you look into my soul. Your eyes are spellbinding, Kurt."
"The softness of your voice, the gentle melody when you speak. How you envelope me into your arms the time everything in my world went to shit, and I thought I had no one to turn to- you were there. You. When I was scared out of my mind of going back to school when Puck outed me, how you held my hand. The protection you provided me- how I wish to provide you with every day."
"Kurt, when you went into that coma- it's like my entire world crumbled around me. I thought- when I thought I had lost you forever, I couldn't breathe. I prayed and wish and cried for you to wake up- wake up because I needed to profess my love for you, and even though I tell you every day how much I love you it never feels enough because you mean the world to me, Kurt- the world."
"I know you're- you're not going to be around much long, and I'm not ready for that at all, I don't think I'll ever be ready. But a wise man once told me, to keep the people I love close to me for as long as I can."
Kurt stood there shivering, his hand still firmly clasp with Blaine's held in the middle of their breathing bodies. A tear slowly fell from his eyes as he watched the love of his life pour his heart out in the gentle cast of candle light.
Kurt's heart almost stopped when Blaine abruptly let his hand go- before getting on one knee.
"So Kurt, my beautiful, captivating, stunning, slightly neurotic and stubborn, Kurt- will you make me the happiest man in the world and do me this extraordinary honour...of marrying me?"
A lump formed inside Kurt's throat. He stared at the orange glow the candle's painted on Blaine's beautiful face, his eyes dazzling, lights dancing in the diamonds in his eye sockets. His breathing escalated as he tried to find the the capability to utter the most basic word- that now seemed like understanding a chemical reaction- in the entire English language.
But he breathed a ball of oxygen, and moved his lips.
"Yes."
