HELLO GUYS. Sorry not taking so long but I love this chapter and it took some time to perfect....well as perfect as my imagination can be tsk. Have fun and I'll post 16 by Friday!!
When Blaine woke up, he did the exact same thing he did the day before. He got up immediately, jumped into the shower, donned whatever he could find in his closet & left. He drove slowly because despite wanting to be outside Kurt's house, he couldn't deny he felt extremely exhausted still. Blaine parked his car next to a magazine store and went inside. He felt extremely awkward lurking around the fashion magazine section, but he picked up about 8 different brands of magazines, paid & left. He made another pit stop, this time to a BurgerKing drive-thru & bought a few meals. He knew he was going to be there all day so he wanted to be prepared to fill his stomach.
When he arrived at Kurt's house, he was walking towards the front porch but he stopped in his tracks when he realized something was different. The front porch was more decorated now. There was a comfy, old-looking couch, a small coffee table with a vase of flowers standing in the middle, a fluffy carpet floored the furniture & a few metal wind chimes hung lazily on the ceiling.
Burt Hummel suddenly emerged from the front door, crowning his usual raggy baseball hat. He looked at Blaine and smiled immediatey. "This was his idea, and he did basically everything. I tried to help, but everything I did he said was wrong or looked hideous, so I left him to it. He was out here all night."
"H-he did this all of this?"
"Yeah." Burt said. "For you."
Blaine smiled at the vision of Kurt being out here, alone decorating the front porch, just for him. He needed to see Kurt's face so bad, and the thought of him being just a few walls away killed him.
"He's asleep now though. I think he'll be awake probably by eleven."
"Could you maybe leave these inside for him before you go?" Blaine handed Burt the stack of fashion magazines.
"He loves reading these. He collects them I think." The man dissappeared into the house, and reappeared a few minutes later. "Well, I have to go," he went into his truck & drove off.
Blaine stood on the front porch & admired Kurt's work. The place looked so elegant & homey. He dropped onto the couch & almost let out a moan of pleasure when his butt sunk deep into the cushion. It felt so comfortable. He took out the food he had bought & laid them on the coffee table before digging in. Since Kurt was asleep, Blaine had to somehow let Kurt know that he was outside, so he took out his phone & typed a message to Kurt, pressing send afters. He took out the book he had borrowed yesterday, flipped to the chapter he stopped at & began reading.
When Kurt woke up, he realized it was past noon. He had been up all night, and only went to bed at 5am in the morning when his front porch deco was up to par. Kurt grabbed his phone on his night stand & was immediately greeted with two text messages. One from his dad, and the other from Blaine.
He opened the one from Blaine first, feeling a little anxious as he did so.
'Hi, I'm outside. Your deco looks amazing btw'
Kurt checked the time stamp that wrote 10.34am. It was already 2pm in the afternoon. He immediately ran up the stairs, into the living room & peeked out the window to see the front porch. Blaine was seated on the couch, peacefully reading a book. He smiled to himself at the sight of the beautiful boy, wanting so much to just go out there & cuddle up next to Blaine, but he couldn't. He still wasn't ready to face the boy.
Kurt slumped onto the couch and checked his phone once more. He opened the text message from his dad this time.
'Hey kiddo. Blaine's outside & he bought some magazines for you. I left them on the dining table. See you tonight.'
He got up & made his way to the kitchen, smiling when he saw the stack of Vogue, Marie Claire & Harper's Bazaar magazines laying on the table. He started flipping through the one on the top, but closed it because he wasn't in the mood to read. He took out his phone, hesitated for a while but he knew he had to. He typed a text message to Blaine and locked his phone immediately, feeling nervous when the send tone ringed.
Blaine sat quietly on the front porch, the only sound was of a lawn mowing machine somewhere far in the distant left side. He'd been so engrossed in his book, he lost track of time. The vibration of his phone caught his attention and he had to pry his eyes away. Blaine slid the unlock key & felt a wash of sudden excitement when he noticed the text was from Kurt.
He stroked his thumb on the sides of his phone for a while, feeling anxious to know what could the text possible say. Gathering up as much courage, he slid the bar to the right & the text window popped up.
I'm awake, and thank you for the magazines & the cupcakes yesterday.
He let out a sigh, glad the text was innocent and harmless. Though he wanted to actually hear Kurt's voice, Blaine was glad there was at least some form of interaction between them today. He smiled and placed his phone back on the table, then going back to his book.
The next few hours were quiet. Kurt didn't send him any more text messages, no cars were driving by the neighbourhood everything was tranquil and serene, though how perfect the afternoon seemed, he can't help but feel like something was missing, something that should've been seated next to him. He sighed at how much he missed Kurt.
By 7pm, the familiar pick-up truck drove into the driveway, and once again Burt Hummel emerged. He smiled sadly at Blaine as a greeting. "No show?"
"No..." Blaine trailed off.
"I'm sorry..I tried talking to him yesterday, but all he said was he wasn't ready to face you.."
"I know, sir. It's okay, really. I'll wait."
"You should go home now though. You look exhausted."
Blaine smiled at the man's concern. "Kurt," he shouted into the house. "I'll go home now, but I'll be out here again, okay? I love you. And I miss you." Blaine gave Burt another smile before walking towards his car, driving off, leaving the Hummels. When he arrived home, he did exactly what he did the night before as well, he jumped onto bed & fell asleep.
When he woke up the next morning, Blaine laid in bed for awhile. He missed Kurt so much he was having trouble trying to picture Kurt's smile, because the last time he saw his face, Kurt had tears in his eyes and his lips were quivering, but even that Blaine thought Kurt still looked beautiful.
He left his house and started driving, making his way to Kurt's house. He drove slowly because he was thinking what he could get for Kurt, when he noticed a flower store. Pulling into the single parking spot outside, he entered the store and looked around then realizing he didn't know what was Kurt's favorite flower.
"Kurt, I'm off to the garage okay!"
Kurt jolted up at the sound of his father's voice. He grabbed his phone and looked at the time, glad he didn't sleep past noon this time. He decided to get some breakfast, but when he reached the first level landing, he heard footsteps outside the front door. Kurt knew it was Blaine, so he went to the window in the living room and looked out & was immediately in awe of the sight.
Blaine had boxes lined up on the pathway all containing all different kinds of flowers, a few bouquets sat on the front porch, neatly arranged. The boy was walking back and forth from the boxers. Every time he went to them, he picked up another bouquet, went back up the porch and laid it on the floor. He seemed to be focused on where to place the flowers, which Kurt thought looked positively adorable when he frowned at the flowers before picking one of the bouquets up and placing it at a different place or angle.
Kurt smiled at the sight, and then suddenly walked to the door with a sudden foreign emotional strength, he pulled the front door open.
"Did you rob a garden?"
Blaine looked up & was momentarily stunned when his eyes met a beautiful blue-eyed boy leaning on the door frame, arms crossed & donning a blue silky pyjamas. He stared straight into those blue eyes, suddenly at a lost for words. He took a long few seconds simply gaping at Kurt, before finally regaining his sense of articulation.
"H-Hi. Urm, I-I didn't know what's your favorite flower, so-"
"So you bought the entire store?" Kurt smirked.
"Basically."
They stood where they were for awhile, Blaine just admiring the face he had missed & Kurt looking around at the beautiful arrangement of flowers. "They're beautiful." Kurt said.
"I've missed you."
The words got Kurt's attention. He looked at Blaine sadly, though a small shy smile formed on his moist, red lips. "I-I'm sorry..I needed..needed time to think."
"I don't know what is there to think about though.." Blaine took a step forward. "I'm not leaving you." He took another step forward. "Even if you tell me to." Another step, Blaine was now on the steps. "I don't want to leave anyway, because.." Blaine was now standing right in front of Kurt, they were just a few inches apart. "I love you."
There were little drops of tears in Kurt's eyes, when he looked down the tears fell out of his eyes & onto the group. "B-but I can't put you through this Blaine.." Kurt's voice was shaky. "It's only going to get rougher from here & I don't know how long it is before I di-"
"Hey," Blaine cut him off, using his thumb and tiliting Kurt's face up so they were looking at each other. "I love you, so much and I know what I'm getting myself into, but Kurt, I don't care. Whatever time I have left with you is better than... than not being with you at all."
Kurt's tears streamed down his face. "I-I don't want to hurt you.."
"Kurt, this is my decision. I want to be with you." Then Blaine placed his palm on Kurt's left cheek & slowly eased him closer, until their lips were just mere centimeters apart.
"I love you too," Kurt whispered, his hot breath felt on Blaine's lips.
When their lips met, Blaine knew he had made the right decision. He knew that he wanted to be here for Kurt, until the end, not because he felt like it was morally the right thing to do, but because he loved the boy. With every fibre of his body, he loved Kurt. And even if he had listened to Kurt & left, he knew he wouldn't stop thinking about him..or stop loving him.
Blaine didn't realize that he too was crying, until they pulled away & Kurt wiped his tears. He smiled looking at Kurt, with absolute certainty that being with him was the right decision. He then looked around the floor & picked up 5 different bouquets of flowers.
Blaine handed him the first bouquet, filled with white flowers and a drop of yellow in the center. "These are daisies, right?"
"Yes, and they represent loyalty. It's apporpriate in this case, because I'm not leaving you..I promise."
He then handed Kurt the second one, a bouquet with purple flowers.
"Lilacs?"
"Yes. Lilac flowers are like you."
Kurt blushed. "How so?"
"Well, lilacs are known for their breathtaking beauty & irresitible aroma."
"So...you're saying I smell good?" Kurt smirked.
"You're like a lilac flower because you're beautiful & you're irresistable to me."
Kurt smiled shyly, but Blaine knew he was trying to conceal a wider grin. "You're going to make me blush.." Kurt said. Blaine then handed him another bouquet, this time of tulips. "Tulips represent protection. When I give you this, I'm promising you that I'm going to protect you...from any harm that I can protect you from.."
Blaine's voice was shaky, because he only realized that there was one harm he couldn't protect Kurt from at the end of the sentence. "Blaine..."
"No wait, I'm not done." Blaine said, trying to distract himself from the thought. He handed Kurt a bouquet that held a mix of flowers.
"What are these?" Kurt asked.
"Well, they're orchids & carnations." Blaine answered. "See, orchids represents affection & seduction.." He gulped, suddenly nervous. "and well...I feel very-urm-enticed & allured by you."
"How about in simple english.." Kurt smiled.
"You're not making this easy on me are you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Kurt said innocently.
"I -urm- I feel aroused every time I look a-at you.."
Kurt laughed at the satisfaction when Blaine's cheeks grew red. "Noted, so what about carnations?"
"Carnations should be given to someone who holds you captivated, and well...you captivate me." Kurt blushed hard this time, his cheeks burning red. "You need to stop being so romantic honestly it's like you read a book on how to win my heart."
"I still have one more bouquet, hang on to your heart." He stretched his arm out and handed Kurt the last bouquet of flowers.
"Roses, because roses simply mean I love you."
Kurt took the bouquet of beautifully arranged red roses shakily, but then he dropped everything and lunged himself onto Blaine, wrapping him in a death hug. Blaine had to stable himself because the hug was so caught off guard. He wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist, returning the gesture.
"I'm so scared of losing you.." Kurt whispered under his sobs.
"You're not going to, I promise."
Comments
This was definitely my favorite chapter so far. Blaine is so sweet and I just loved the moment where he was explaining what all the flowers meant and how they applied to Kurt. I am so happy that Kurt finally let Blaine back in and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Ah I need to admit that my eyes got a bit teary. It's so good and sad and I don't want Kurt to pass away. Nononono. :(
