Author's Notes: I'm not too sure if I'm happy with this or not I've rewrote it about 3 times but I feel like it's been forever since I posted something. Let me know if there's any mistakes and review if you'd like, I always appreciate it. :)

"Where do we start first?" Blaine asked as they walked back to his room, climbing onto the bed. Kurt crossed his legs, wrapping his arms around his waist. "Well, first, you could put some pants on, otherwise this will be sufficiently more awkward than it already is."

"You weren't complaining about me having no pants on last night," Blaine smirked, wiggling his eyebrows. Kurt's face reddened and he threw a pillow at the boy, hitting him right in the face. "Blaine. Put some pants on now, or I will castrate you."

Blaine's eyes widened and he scrambled off the bed, moving around and quickly pulling on an old pair of sweatpants. He clambered back onto the bed, his breathing slower than normal as he stared at Kurt, wanting to say something, but he didn't know what. He played with the drawstring of his pants self-consciously, his mind replaying the events of the previous night over and over until he thought he was going to throw up.

"Blaine," the boy started timidly, interrupting Blaine's thoughts, "why — why did you kiss me? Back there, when I was about to leave?"

The shorter boy suddenly became immersed in the design on his comforter upon hearing Kurt's words. What was he going to tell him? He contemplated this for a moment; he had two choices. He could either tell Kurt the truth, tell him that he liked him, or he could lie. But Blaine was never very good at lying, so he wasn't sure how that was going to work out. He bit his lip and kept his head down, giving off a simple shrug in response.

Kurt growled in frustration, tossing his head back. That wasn't the answer he wanted — he wanted to hear Blaine's voice, not a shrug like he'd given him. Wasn't Blaine the one who wanted to talk in the first place? He'd stopped him from running out of the building, begging him to talk, and now he wasn't going to talk? He sighed, closing his eyes and taking a moment to calm down. "Blaine," his tone was stern, "tell me. We aren't going to get anywhere if you don't speak."

Kurt leaned forward, placing his hands on either side of Blaine's face and tilting his head up, locking his hands so that the other boy had no choice but to look at him. He wanted an answer, and he would stay here, just like this until he got one. No matter how long it would take, he wasn't moving until Blaine gave him a response he was satisfied with, a response where Blaine actually spoke.

Blaine sighed in defeat, his now watery honey eyes staring right into blue. Kurt's expression was soft, but he was still irritated with the way Blaine responded to his question. "I — I don't know," he stumbled over his words and Kurt was about to open his mouth when Blaine continued, "Kurt. You're beautiful, and I don't really know what had gotten into me, and your lips — god, your lips just looked so pink and full and amazing and I couldn't help myself."

He shut his mouth quickly after that, thankful that Kurt's hands had loosened and he wiggled out of his grip, looking everywhere but at Kurt. Kurt, on the other hand couldn't stop staring at the boy in front of him, his face coloured a dark pink with Blaine's reply. He opened his mouth a few times to speak, but nothing seemed to come out. So they just sat in silence for a while, both of their minds reeling.

Blaine hadn't lied when he answered Kurt; he really didn't know what he was doing. He'd just broken up with his fiance not that long ago, and here he was, kissing and having drunk sex with the man he was slowly falling in love with. He didn't know what to do, and his mind was so fuzzy it didn't know how to react and all Blaine wanted to do was pull out his hair, scream, or cry. Or all three, but neither of them happened. Instead, he seemed to stay quite calm, much to his surprise.

His head was starting to pound, though, and he still felt like he was going to be sick. He wanted to get some aspirin but he couldn't move. It was like his body was glued to the bed. He half-wanted Kurt to say something, because he was really starting to feel self-conscious all over again, and that was definitely not a good thing. He had the habit of getting too worked up about things.

"I'm sorry," Blaine blurted out, shocking both him and Kurt with the raspy noise that came from his mouth, but he kept going. "For last night. God, Kurt, I feel like such an idiot, and I knew suggesting going to a club was a bad idea, and I would probably end up doing something I'd regret, but I just wanted to spend time with you and I already asked you to go before I could get a chance to come up with something else, and then I was too nervous to ask if you wanted to do something else and—"

Kurt interrupted, pushing his hand up against Blaine's mouth to quiet him. "Shut up," he said flat-out. "It was both of our faults for what happened last night. We got drunk, and we weren't thinking properly. Not to mention, I think I was the one who suggested doing it," he blushed, mentally smacking himself. He'd told himself it was wise to only have one drink, but he ended up drinking about five margaritas and some vodka, causing him to basically lose control of himself.

To say Kurt was embarrassed was an understatement. He hadn't been in a situation this awkward since the time he'd agreed to give Blaine a lap dance, for the money his friends were willing to give him. Great, of course the two most awkward situations had to involve Blaine. Only this time it was way more awkward than the first, and Kurt was terrified of what was going to happen.

He thought about all the possible things Blaine could reply with. He thought about how he might want to never see Kurt again, and tell him to get out. And he was afraid; he didn't want to lose Blaine. He was the best thing that had ever happened to him, and he was positive that he couldn't handle it if Blaine wanted nothing to do with him anymore. He closed his eyes, bracing for the worst.

"I need aspirin," Blaine said suddenly. He wasn't sure where that had come from, but he really did need the aspirin. Kurt stared at him, his eyebrows knitted. He nodded in confusion, "okay. Go right ahead then."

Blaine got up and shakily made his way to the bathroom to retrieve the pills. He used this time to open the bottle and fill a glass of water slowly, making it seem like he needed it so bad that it took a while to get open, so he could think about what he was going to say next. How was he going to respond to what Kurt said without making it anymore awkward? He probably couldn't, and he knew that.

He wanted to suggest just forgetting about what happened all together, but he knew he couldn't do that, either. How could he forget about something so amazing? Even if they hadn't done this while sober, it was still amazing. Do he ruled that option out. He downed the pills quickly and headed back to his room, not wanting Kurt to think he was avoiding his question, even though he really was.

"Sorry about that," he said sheepishly, running his fingers through his hair as he entered the room. Kurt was smiling slightly, and he waved it off. "Don't worry about it, Blaine," he said softly, rubbing his arm gently and Blaine nearly wanted to jerk his arm away because the touch felt really good, too good, actually, and he wasn't sure of what would happen, but he just willed himself to forget about it.

"I — Kurt," he started nervously after a while of silence, which seemed to be happening quite frequently today, "I wanted to talk — about last night. I wanted to suggest we just forget about it, but I realized that I couldn't do that."

Kurt stayed silent, and Blaine wasn't sure if he considered that a good thing or not. What if I scare him off? I definitely don't want to do that again. Shit, get it together, Blaine. He gulped before continuing, "I had no idea what I was doing last night — neither of us did, but I'm only going to speak for myself here. We definitely should not have done that, but to say that I regret it would be a lie. I actually really enjoyed it," his face flushed, still nervous about Kurt's reaction. "I know you probably don't feel the same way, but I just had to get that out."

It took Kurt a bit to reply, his mouth opening and closing repeatedly as he thought of how to respond. He hadn't really been expecting that, so the response he had earlier he tossed out the window. "To say that I regret or didn't enjoy it would be a lie, as well." Blaine smiled, but it fell when Kurt kept speaking.

"It's just — I've been hurt before, and my heart is still fragile. I don't trust people easily, and even though I'd really love to trust you, Blaine, I just can't. Not yet. And I hate it because you're the only person apart from my dad that I can be completely comfortable with. And you're the only one I know who can actually understand me. I just don't want to get hurt again, and it's going to take a while to convince my heart."

Blaine almost started crying when Kurt spoke, his velvet-like voice breaking a few times. He couldn't see how anyone could possibly hurt this boy. To Blaine, he was literally perfect. From his hair to his eyes, from his lips and voice and his skin, which made him look like a porcelain doll, but Blaine loved it. He just couldn't get his mind wrapped around the fact that this beautiful boy had been through so much pain, and he could see in his eyes he'd been hurt so badly, and Blaine wanted to be the one to make everything better, but he knew he had to get Kurt to trust him, and no matter how long that took, he'd be waiting.

He had his own problems to deal with, and he couldn't necessarily just forget them to help Kurt, but he would try his best to help piece Kurt back together. He knew it would take a while, and he wouldn't be 100% — no one ever was once they've been hurt — but maybe, just maybe if he got Kurt to trust him, he could help Blaine so that they might actually be able to be together.

He wanted so badly to be with Kurt; he wanted to hug him, cuddle him, learn all of his kinks and quirks and kiss him whenever he pleased. But they were both way too broken for that. But he still hoped it would happen one day.

"I know," Blaine nodded, "and take your time, we don't have to rush anything. I'm not really in the shape to take anything farther right now, either," he let out a short, light laugh. "I still need to figure everything out with Sebastian, and I have no idea how long that's going to take since he won't even answer me. We'll just see what happens as time passes — and we'll just go slowly."

Kurt nodded in agreement. "I'm really glad you understand. I was so scared you might not want anything to do with me after I told you, that I might've scared you off."

Blaine shook his head rapidly, denying the fact that Kurt could ever scare him off. "That's not possible, Kurt," he assured, pulling the taller boy into a hug so tight that they both fell off of the bed, tangled in a heap of limbs and sheets.

Kurt pulled himself up, laughing awkwardly. Blaine was smiling at him shyly, rubbing the back of his neck as he reached up to grab Kurt's outstretched hand.

"I should really go, though," Kurt said, causing Blaine to frown. "It's getting late and I have a cat to feed." Blaine nodded sadly and walked him out to the front door, Kurt promising that he would text Blaine later before he vanished.

Kurt was bored. Completely and utterly bored. He spent the last few days sitting around the apartment doing nothing, or just roaming the city. Rachel wouldn't be home until Sunday, so he didn't have her to keep him busy with. Blaine wasn't around either — he had an overly large amount of music lessons and work to get done, so he didn't have time to hang out with Kurt, much to both of the boys' dismay.

It was times like these where Kurt wished Mercedes wasn't in LA, and come to New York with him and Rachel. He didn't have many other friends around. There was Mike and Tina, who only lived a few miles away but they had just had a baby, so that was out of the question. He scrolled through his contacts, looking for someone to hang out with.

He soon realized the only other person he knew in New York was Max, and there was absolutely no way those two could hang out together. Sure, they were friends, and sometimes they went out for a drink, but really hanging out with the owner of the strip club you work at? That definitely was going to be awkward.

He was about to flop down on the couch when an idea suddenly popped into his mind. Standing up swiftly, he rushed down the hall and to his room. He opened his closet door and stepped inside, digging through what seemed like hundreds of boxes before he found what he was looking for.

Grabbing the remote on his nightstand, he turned on the stereo and climbed onto his bed, setting down the items he'd just retrieved. Taking the notebook in hand, he reached for a pencil in a plastic blue box before setting the book back down, skimming the pages for a blank sheet.

He chewed on the eraser of the pencil as he sat there in thought, finally coming up with an idea. He smiled and as soon as the tip hit the paper, he was completely lost, drawing along to the beat of the music softly playing in the background. He hummed quietly, sketching a male's body, complete with abnormally curly hair and triangular eyebrows before replicating the outfit in his mind onto the paper.

The weekend seemed to slip by quickly. Kurt went to work on Saturday, speeding through his performance at ease and earning around $200 in return for the outstanding show. He'd sketched all morning Saturday and up until he went to bed that night, and on Sunday he made his way to the airport to pick up Rachel.

He'd missed her quite a lot more than he realized when he saw her walking out of the terminal and through the baggage claim. He never thought he would miss her unnecessarily loud and obnoxious wake up calls, or her nagging, but he did.

He engulfed her in a hug when she made her way over to him and he helped her with the bags. "Everyone says hi," she informed as they got to the car and headed back home. "They all miss you a lot, and your dad wants you to call him soon."

Kurt made a mental note to call him as soon as they reached the apartment. Rachel went on and on about the trip during the whole ride, talking about spending time with the few people from Glee that had stayed in Ohio. She moved on rather quickly, basically jumping from topic to topic without giving too much information. She told Kurt her dads were doing well, and Leroy was back at home and healthy. The topic she stayed on the longest was, of course, Finn.

They were back together and Kurt had expected no less. His expression was bored when she rambled on and on. He was tired of going through the same thing between them every so often, and he didn't want to hear about it. Rachel noticed this and surprisingly shut up quickly. She turned in her seat to face Kurt and smiled softly, "how was your week?"

Kurt told her it was pretty boring, but told her about his night with Blaine, of course leaving out the part where they had sex. He would never hear the end of it if he let it slip, and he really did not want to deal with that at all. He was still confused about his feelings, and letting Rachel find out his actions would make it so much worse.

"Oh, speaking of, when am I going to get to meet this infamous Blaine?" she asked, prodding Kurt's side lightly.

Kurt shrugged. He didn't really want Rachel meeting Blaine this early, afraid of what would happen, but he knew she wouldn't shut up about it until she got to meet him. She already bugged him enough about not ever meeting him. "I'll see if he's busy tomorrow and maybe we can go to lunch," he said as they pulled into the parking lot.

He texted Blaine, asking if he was free tomorrow for lunch, and he received a text back a few moments later. Blaine unfortunately couldn't make lunch tomorrow, but he was free Tuesday which was actually better for both Kurt and Rachel anyway. He called his dad right after, then ordered take out for himself and Rachel when they hung up.

Kurt went about his day as usual when Monday came around, but his day took a turn off course around 1pm when he got a phone call from and unknown number. He hesitated answering, but little did  he know he would be extremely grateful for doing so when he picked it up.

"Mr. Hummel?" a male's voice rang through his ears. He was quiet for a moment, trying to figure who this was, but he had no luck. "Yes?" he replied, "may I help you with something?"

"Oh! Yes. Hello, sir. This is Joseph Somers. I'm calling about your audition the other day for the part of Alexander in Almost There," Kurt held his breath as the man spoke. He closed his eyes, expecting him to tell him he didn't get the role. But why would he be calling him to say that? They usually called after about a week, and if he didn't get a call after that time, he knew he hadn't gotten the part. So the only other reason he would be calling is because —

"I'd like to congratulate you, Mr. Hummel. You've got the part!"
