"Fuck", The boys heard through the forest. Suddenly Cooper burst through the trees behind them cursing. "He fucking escaped. Blaine, he is gone."
"No. What if they don't find him? What if he finds Kurt's Mom? Or Kurt?" Blaine was whispering, he was so angry at his dad. Still he was too scared and just the thought of Kurt hurting, either if his dad found him or his mom, broke his heart. Pictures started flashing through his brain. Kurt lying on the ground, bleeding. His body lifeless. Kurt at the grave of his Mom. Crying. Blaine started crying and held on to Kurt. "I'm so sorry, Kurt."
"Hey, shh, It's okay."
"We have to get you to the hospital, though." Cooper said.
Kurt nodded.
"Can someone maybe help me up? I think my leg is broken"
"Sure" Blaine said, jumping to his feet. Instead of helping Kurt up and helping him walk, he just bend down and picked him up carefully. Kurt winced, but relaxed after a few seconds, knowing Blaine would never hurt him, even though his Dad had other intentions.
Kurt had been checked. The doctors had to perform a complicated surgery on his leg, because it was broken into several small pieces. The surgery went well, though. Kurt had to be wheeled around in a wheelchair for the first couple of days so the leg was going to heal earlier. The police had searched for Blaine's Dad for ages, but he wasn't seen.
Now, 2 weeks after the attack Kurt was finally able to walk on crutches. He had seen his Mom. She was awake now, shortly after Kurt had run out of the hospital, she started to wake up. Kurt had talked to his Mom but it hadn't been a really nice conversation.
"Kurt." Mrs. Hummel whispered, as soon as she saw her son entering the room in his wheelchair.
She knew what he went through and the thought that it would happen again, scared her to Death.
Although Kurt was happy to see his Mom, awake and nearly healthy he couldn't help himself and asked the question he wanted to have answered for ages now.
"Mom, why isn't there a name on my wrist?" His Mom stayed silent for a minute then she answered "Kurt, you know that you didn't have a name. You never had. Didn't you read that article on the person without a name, who found her soulmate because he didn't have a name either?"
"Mom, I know I found my soulmate, but he used to have a name. My name. So why don't I have a name? I'm serious. Please, just tell me the truth."
"How do you know, it's your name, sweetie?" She said. "There is more than one Kurt Hummel outthere, Blaine might have another soulmate whose name is Kurt Hummel. Maybe in France, maybe in Italy, or in Germany or whereever. You can't be sure it's your name, sweetie."
"Mom, I am sure. It's not about the name. It's about my feelings for him. I never felt like I was home, or somewhere I belonged. Like I was missing something. But now I feel whole and whenever I'm with him, It is home. This is where I belong. And I'm sure about that."
"Look, sweetie, I know. I know, he is your soulmate. And I know I made a mistake when I removed your name.But-"
"You did what?!" Kurt interrupted her.
"I- I didn't have a choice. He was threatening your life. I- I couldn't let him take you away from me." without his name being mentioned, Kurt still knew his Mom was talking about Blaine's dad.
"I was trying to protect you. I wanted you to have a normal life. Without living with the fear of being killed. I didn't want you to feel that way."
"Mom, Do you seriously believe that made me have a safe and normal life? There were still threats and bullying everyday. I was threatend to be killed and someone nearly succeeded and it was not Blaine's Dad. I couldn't go to school and not be scared, because you know, there are a lot of assholes out there."
"I know, Kurt, you have to understand the difference between some jokes at school and a guy chasing you. There is a difference. If someone tries killing you in school, like you put it, they don't mean it. But if a person, an adult, tries to make you suffer, you shouldn't taking it easily.
So that is why I think you should break up with Blaine."
"Mom, are you kidding me?! I don't even care if you think I'm pathetic or anything but I'm not gonna take a bully who nearly stabbed me easy, nor will I break up with Blaine. No way." Kurt was yelling now. He couldn't help but be angry at his mom. How could she say something like that.
"Then, I will have to forbid Blaine to come close to you. I can go to the police if it's needed, you aren't eighteen. I can decide, what is good for you and that boy isn't. Blood is thicker than water. His father probably means more to him than you. I'm not gonna let him be close to you anymore. My decision is made. Do whatever you want, but get away from Blaine."
"No." Kurt said. "I can make choices like that on my own by now. And if you can't accept that, I think I have to live on my own from now on."
Then he wheeled to the door where Blaine was waiting for him and just cried. Blaine held him that night let him cry and comforted him as much as he could. "We have to leave." Kurt whispered. "Your Dad is gonna try to find me since the police stopped searching and my Mom is probably going to try keep us apart."
"Maybe your Mom is right, though. I am the only one who can stop my Dad from doing such a thing."
