Once it was over, they all gathered in the cemetery's parking lot.
"Finn, where are you living?" Burt asked.
"Rachel and her dads have decided to take me in," he said, shaking it off.
"You know that your room is still here for you," Burt said, hoping his step-son would oblige to the offer.
"No, it's okay. Kurt told me about Blaine-"
"Look," Blaine stepped in, "I don't mind going back home. You are better off living with Kurt and Burt."
"No, man, I can't do that," Finn said. "I just got a job, and my money has been getting saved for an apartment in northern Ohio."
"Why are you doing this, Finn?" Kurt asked. "You just turned eighteen. You haven't even graduated high school yet!"
Finn shook his head, tears swelling the edges of his eyes.
"You know that Carole would have wanted you to graduate and to go to college, just so you could support yourself and, possibly, a family."
Everyone around them seemed to give nods and murmurs of agreement.
"As for Blaine," Kurt said, "you know that we have a spare bedroom near the basement. So don't give us that crappy excuse."
Rachel came behind her boyfriend, resting her hand on his burly shoulder. "Finn, sweetie, you should go back. I love living with you, but we can all tell that you're unhappy."
"I'll think about it," Finn said. "I promise that I will call you by Friday."
With that, he got into his truck with Rachel and drove off, Rachel's dads following in their Camry.
Kurt turned towards his boyfriend and leapt forward into a tight embrace. Blaine petted the nape of Kurt's neck as he whispered words of encouragement. The tears that gathered on the lapel of Blaine's suit told Kurt that he needed to get a grip on himself. He looked up into Blaine's eyes as he wiped away the remnants of the tears on his cheeks.
"Blaine, where are your bags?" Burt asked.
"I have them in the trunk of my car," Blaine said. "I really don't mind waiting a few weeks because I know that this just happened and-"
"Blaine," Burt said, cutting him off, "shut up and make yourself at home."
Kurt nodded, rubbing his boyfriend's back.
"Kurt, I have to go visit Carol's parents at their home," Burt said, "so I'll probably be home around ten o'clock. Make sure that Blaine makes himself comfortable."
Kurt chuckled with a nod. Burt turned around and got into his car, driving off to western Ohio, where Finn's grandparents lived. Kurt lifted his wrist up to view his watch. The time was four o'clock.
"We have six hours alone," Kurt said with a weak smile. "Do you want to rent a movie?"
"Only if you're up for it," Blaine said, grabbing the taller boy's waist.
"We probably won't even watch it," Kurt said. He buried his head into the crook of the younger boy's neck, inhaling his scent of vanilla and shaving cream.
"You're incredibly eager," he said. He lifted the brunette's chin to where their eyes both met. "I love you so much."
With that, Blaine leant in to close the gap by pressing their lips against each other. Kurt inhaled deeply through his nose, grabbing Blaine's neck deeper into the kiss. Blaine took Kurt's upper lip into his mouth and sucked gently before Kurt released a moan. He swiped his tongue at the entrance before Kurt reluctantly pulled back.
"This is highly inappropriate for a funeral parking lot," Kurt said with a shake of his head.
Blaine laughed and bent down to press a soft, but lingering, kiss on his boyfriend's cheek. "We should probably take it to a more discreet venue…"
"Discreet?" Kurt asked. "Look at who's being dapper this evening."
"Ha-ha," the curly-headed boy said sarcastically. "Honestly, though. If you don't want to go home and do this, I completely understand. It's too soon."
"No," Kurt said. "We haven't had a nice cuddle session in a long time. I think I'm in desperate need of one now."
"Okay," Blaine said. "How about we go and rent "Moulin Rouge"? Then we can pick up dinner and then have our longley-awaited alone time?"
"That sounds lovely," Kurt said.
With that, both boys grabbed each other's hands and walked to Blaine's truck. He opened the door for Kurt, and then walked over to his side. Driving out of the parking lot, the radio sounded with the song "Blackbird", reminding them of how lucky they were to have each other.
