Finn walked over to place his hand on Kurt's shoulder but Blaine pulled his arm down, "Touch him and you'll wish you were the one on the side of the road."
"Point taken," Finn said as he cleared his throat.
He made his way over to his bed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. He let out a sigh before he began, "I can't explain it, Kurt. I was just so pissed with your dad about what he did-"
"That is still no excuse for what you did, Finn!" Kurt screamed, now escaping the confines of Blaine's grasp. "No person who has a soul would ever do what you did to him, Finn, especially after all he did for you… after all he's still doing for you!"
Kurt walked up to Finn and slapped his cheek with all of his force and might. The sound of the smack echoed throughout the house. Kurt had a tear roll down his cheek, as Finn got up to place the final remains of his room in his now-overstuffed luggage bag.
"I need to leave here, Kurt," Finn said, making his way towards the door.
Blaine's hand pushed his chest before he reached the entryway, "You're right. Where you are going will be a lot worse than this, I can assure you."
"Let him leave, Blaine," Kurt said.
"What?" Blaine hissed in Finn's direction. "This bastard deserves what's coming to him!"
"Blaine, let him leave. All we'll be doing is making his life a whole lot harder than what it already is," Kurt said, holding back a sob.
Without another word said or glance spared, Finn had run down the wooden staircase and out the door. He was gone. Just like that, the one person who managed to turn their lives upside down left their presence. The air in the room seemed to get more breathable as Kurt fell to his knees in a state of panic.
Blaine rushed over, crying over his boyfriend, grasping him with his arms. "Why did you just let him leave, Kurt?" Blaine asked.
"I remember when my mother died," Kurt said. "It was the most depressing moment of my life. I would never take it out on anybody, and my father thought that maybe it was because I was different than other boys. I never took anything out on anybody in a violent way. Dad always told me most boys would take their anger out by punching the hell out of a guy they didn't even know. That's how Finn's handling the situation, and until he comes to terms with Carole's death, the only way we can help him out is to support him in whatever decisions he sees fit."
Blaine's breath was immediately taken away by the angel in front of him. He was so much mature than Blaine would ever be, and that made him the proudest man alive. Kurt was all his, and he didn't deserve him. They slept in each other's arms throughout the remainder of the night, dreaming of what was to come in the future.
"What do you mean Finn's gone?" Rachel asked the two boys by the piano in the choir room.
Glee club rehearsal was still scheduled for the remainder of the week, and Kurt knew that at some point, they would all have to find out about what had happened with Finn. Even though most of them could probably care less, Kurt also informed them that Carole's funeral was arranged for that Wednesday, which was two days away.
The entire room fell silent as Kurt finished his story, and Blaine confronted the taller boy by putting his arm around his shoulders. Rachel, Tina, and Mercedes had already begun their soft cries of mourning, while the rest of the club began to look depressed and agitated. Even Mr. Shuester had tears streaming down the sides of his cheeks. Finn wasn't only the lead singer of the club, but he was their family. It took them all until now to realize how important family was.
For the remainder of the day, Rachel tried calling Finn's phone, but as usual, there was no answer. She, more than anyone else, worried for Finn's safety. How could he make out there all alone? No one knew the answer, but they didn't want to think about finding out.
Before Kurt left with Blaine hand in hand, all of the club's members went up to Kurt and made sure to tell them that they would be attending the funeral and that they're prayers were with their family. Kurt, despite his disbelief in religion, nodded in approval as he walked away.
After they got in the car, Blaine put his keys in the ignition and found himself staring at his boyfriend. The sun-set had cast a beautiful glow upon his face and made him look more heavenly than his usually did. He sighed to himself as he backed the car out of the school's lot.
"I love you so much, Kurt Hummel," Blaine said.
"I love you too, Blaine," Kurt said, grabbing his hand and kissing his knuckles as they drove to Blaine's house for the night.
