Capital Pride
Blaine Anderson has had to be in the closet for years because his father is an influential conservative senator. Blaine has accepted his fate, but when his father is chosen as the vice presidential nominee the stakes become much higher. Then he meets the out and proud Kurt Hummel, which could either be the very best or worst thing for him.
Author's Notes: (Note: I know there are similar stories where Blaine is the son of a conservative politician, but I have never read any of them and I started this a while ago, so I don't see how this could be plagiarizing. It's just a similar premise!) For this AU to work, I've had to play around with the timeline a little bit. I'm pretending the whole storyline with Sue and Burt running for Congress happened a year earlier (there was no attack ad on Santana), so Burt is up for re-election this year just like the president. Blaine and Kurt are both seniors and go to their respective schools, but never met. This also got a little more political than I initially intended, so sorry about that. But most of the politics surround gay marriage, and if you are reading klaine fanfiction then I think I can safely assume you won't mind. :) Hope you enjoy! Warnings for homophobia, homophobic slurs, and flashbacks to homophobia-related violence (referencing canon backstory for Blaine).
