High school junior Kurt Hummel of San Francisco, California, has a boyfriend named Sebastian. Sebastian, with his self-proclaimed "bad habits," has turned young, naive Kurt on to prescription drugs and alcohol. One fateful night, Kurt's father discovers everything Kurt has been hiding from him. Immensely disappointed, but still hopeful, Burt sends Kurt to spend the summer at his old college roommate's ranch just outside Walla Walla, Washington, thinking it will turn Kurt's life back around.Little does he know that it's not the ranch, but Buster Anderson's son, who will change Kurt's life in all the best ways.Warnings for potential triggers: drug addiction, self-harm, alcoholism.
Author's Notes: Hey, guys! Back with a new WIP, as I'm having a very specific, Incandescent-flavored writer's block issue right now. This is a story that has become very close to my heart, as it deals with some very serious, emotional subject matter. Warnings for potential triggers: drug addiction, self-harm, alcoholism.I have never had experiences with any of these things--nor do I have the slightest clue how a ranch is run--so please, PLEASE do not hesitate to let me know if something is depicted inaccurately (ranch, triggers) or insensitively (triggers)...just don't tear me apart for it.The title of When the Stars Go Bluewas taken from Ryan Adams' song of the same name; however, the title came to me after listening to both Tim McGraw's version (beautiful song, and my only exception to the I-don't-like-country rule) and Blake Lewis' killlller version from American Idol. It brought to mind the world that I wanted to create within the story. Also, I know I tagged this thing with all the tags!!, but there will, in fact, be angst and OMG CREYS in the same story as cotton candy fluff. :)
