Somewhere Then I'll See Your Face
Loosely based on Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks. It's 1910, and Blaine Anderson meets and is immediately enchanted by Kurt Hummel, the husband of a wealthy French woman.
Author's Notes: So yes, this is my first lengthy fic. As I say, it's loosely based on the wonderful Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks - both the book and the recent BBC drama. (I recommend watching & reading both!) However, because I'm no Sebastian Faulks, this fic isn't split between 1910 and Blaine in the First World War, so everything follows in chronological order. The title of the fic comes from A Letter Home, a stunning poem by Siegfried Sassoon, a WWI poet. I have deliberately recast only a few central characters to those from the Glee 'verse because, well, I'm a little lazy. Also, it's rated M because there'll probably be some swearing at some point and because the book's pretty porny, so I'll have to man up and write some.Anyway, enjoy.
