Author's Notes: Okay, this is a oneshot in which I had no idea where it came from. And in the middle of the story after the break, it switches from Kurt's POV to 3rd Person POV because something happens! *le gasp* Rated PG-13 for language.
I can’t breathe. Today’s the day. The day when the love of my life will be mine and mine alone. This is the day that everyone will remember for the rest of their lives.
This is the day when I become Mr. Kurt E. Hummel-Anderson.
I peeked through the chapel doors and saw Blaine on the alter, looking as if he were about to pass out. His best man, who just happened to be his brother, Cooper, was whispering things to Blaine to calm him down. He pulled the walkie-talkie from his pants pocket and told Rachel, my Maid of Honor, “The cowardly lion has built his courage. Time for Dorothy to find no place like home.”
“Roger that, Cooper!” Rachel whispered back. She rushed over to me in the earthy green bridesmaid dresses I picked out and hugged me. “Are you ready, Kurt?”
“If by ‘ready’, you mean passing out when I get to the alter, then yes,” I assured her, getting a laugh from my bridesmaids and my father.
My father looked like he was about to cry. “Dad, don’t cry. You’re not saying goodbye to me forever! I’m still that little Kurt you always took care of and loved for nothing more than being myself.”
My dad sniffled and said, “I know, Bud, but seeing Blaine up there and you dressed beautifully in white, it just...” He wiped a single tear from his eye and continued. “It reminds me when your mother and I got married. And then when Carole and I got married. And now, I’m letting you go to be with the love of your life. And if he ever treats you wrong, tell me and I’ll handle everything. Okay?”
I dabbed the tears away from my eyes with my handkerchief and nodded. I hugged my dad tight and whispered, “I love you, Dad.”
I felt him smile as he replied, “I love you, too, Kiddo.”
“Uh, guys?” Mercedes interrupted. “I’d hate to ruin the moment, but I think if we wait any longer, Blaine is going to think you left him.”
I wiped the tears away quickly and put the handkerchief back into my blazer’s inner pocket. I grabbed the bouquet of flowers from Tina, wrapped my free hand around my dad’s arm, and nodded to Rachel. Rachel queued the organist to start playing the bridal march.
All my bridesmaids walked out in front of me into the church up onto the alter. Next was the adorable flower girl that was now my niece, Tiffany, Cooper’s daughter. She looked just like her dad, except she had her mom’s green eyes. After Tiffany went to stand by her dad and uncle, I made my way down the aisle. I was practically crying again. I saw Carole, Rory, Sugar, Mr. and Mrs. Schuester, Coach - I mean Ms. Sylvester and Becky, and even the Karofsky family showed up. I saw so many family and friends there, it was almost heart breaking.
After my father gave my away to Blaine, I looked into Blaine’s eyes and smiled. He smiled back as the priest began to say, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today...”
Blaine and I didn’t pay attention to what the priest was saying. All we could think about was the future. We were going to get a nice little house in the suburbs of Chicago, have a little baby, a boy or a girl, and be the greatest parents anyone could ask for.
“And now, the real moment of truth,” the priest said as he chuckled lightly. “May I have the rings?”
My blood nephew, Jonathan, brought the rings down and handed them to me and Blaine. Jonathan pulled on my sleeve and I kneeled down to him. “What is it, Jonathan?”
“I just wanted to say congratulations to you and Uncle Blaine,” Jonathan said with a smile. I hugged my nephew. As soon as the hug came, Jonathan ran back to sit with his grandma and grandpa - in other words, my parents.
Blaine and I exchanged our vows, saying that we will love each other forever. That we will never give up on each other. That there won’t be any sadness or sickness as long as we’re with each other.
The priest asked Blaine, “Blaine Nathaniel Anderson, do you take Kurt Elizabeth Hummel to be you lawfully wedded husband through richer or poorer, through sickness and in health, with one love that will last a lifetime?”
A tear dripped down Blaine’s cheek as he said, “Of course I do.”
The entire chapel let out an ‘awww’ as if we were the cutest couple on the planet or something. Blaine slipped the white-gold band onto my left ring finger, then kissed it, as if it was sealed.
The priest turned to me now. “Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, do you take Blaine Nathaniel Anderson to be your lawfully wedded husband through richer or poorer, through sickness and in health, with one love that will last a lifetime?”
I opened my mouth to say ‘I do’, when -
I died.
No.
That was the only thought going through Blaine’s mind.
No, this can’t be happening! Not here, not now! Why would anyone do this? Who hates my beautiful Kurt so much to kill him? Who would -
I know. Sebastian Smythe.
Blaine saw him standing behind Kurt’s dead body, still holding the gun. The gun that released the bullet that killed Blaine's husband, Cooper’s brother-in-law, Jonathan and Tiffany’s uncle, Finn’s brother, Burt and Carole’s son, and the one person anyone could trust.
Blaine turned to see that all the girls were crying; Carole, Rachel, Mercedes, Tina, Quinn, Brittany, Santana, and Sugar. All of them were crying into each other’s shoulders. All of the guys wanted to attack Sebastian, but Cooper held them back. “This is Blaine’s fight. Just get everyone out of here.”
“No,” Blaine told him fiercely. “Tell the Burt, Rory, and Artie to get everyone out of here safely. As for you, Finn, Sam, and Puck, I’ll need your help.”
Cooper nodded and told Tiffany to go find her mother, who was waiting for her before they both ran out.
Blaine looked up at Sebastian, then back down at Kurt.
Kurt’s eyes were still open. His beautiful ocean-like eyes remained the same as they were before. Blaine began to cry. He cried into his almost-husband’s shoulder and screamed, “Why, Sebastian?! Why did you have to do this?!”
Sebastian chuckled. “You’re pathetic, Blaine. Normally, I would expect you to fight back, but you’re just as much of a girl as Hummel.”
Cooper took a step forward, ready to punch Sebastian in the face, but Finn and Puck held him off. That didn’t hold back his words, though. “Shut the fuck up, Sebastian! If I hear another insult like that about my brother, you’re dead next!”
“Coop, settle down,” Blaine assured him. “You said it yourself. This is my hill to climb alone.” Blaine looked down at Kurt, closed his eyelids, and kissed his forehead. Blaine lay him down on the next step of the alter, then stood straight up, looking into Sebastian’s eyes. “Since you shot him, you have to shoot me, too.”
Sebastian’s smirk left his face. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’m saying that since you killed Kurt, you’re going to have to kill me,” Blaine repeated even more ferociously than before. “But before you pull the trigger, tell me why you did it.”
Sebastian rolled his eyes and annoyingly replied, “That’s none of your business, Blaine.”
“You killed my husband,” Blaine repeated. “It is my business.”
“It’s my business, too,” Finn added. “He’s my brother.”
“Me too,” Cooper chimed in. “Brother-in-law for me.”
“Same with me,” Sam piped up. “He helped me when I lost everything. I deserve to help him now.”
“I owe him, too,” Puck said. “I kind of owe him a lot from what I did to him Sophomore year.”
Blaine took a step towards Sebastian and repeated once more, “Why did you kill Kurt?”
Sebastian looked at Kurt, then the gun, then at Blaine. Sebastian dropped the gun, grabbed Blaine’s face and kissed him. Blaine pushed Sebastian off and started to cry. Sebastian fell backwards from the force of Blaine. “Oh my god,” Blaine repeated. Now I know how Kurt felt when Karofsky kissed Kurt, Blaine thought.
Little did Blaine know that Dave was standing in the doorway with a gun in his hand. “Back away from him!” Dave shouted aggressively. Sebastian backed away from Blaine and Blaine cried in his brother’s shoulder. Dave held the gun up to Sebastian and told him, “Now you listen to me, you little fucker. You take this bullet like a man and it will all be over. All of your jealousy, all of your hate, and all of your disgrace will be gone. Understood?”
Sebastian chuckled nervously. “Yeah, I understand. I understand that you are just the same scared little boy you were back in high school.”
“And I understand your just a little slut who stole Blaine’s kiss at the alter,” Dave fought back. “Now I have two opportunities for you, Smythe. You can either report to the police who happen to be waiting outside and suffer in jail for the rest of your life with the guilt killing you inside, or you can take all the guilt and suffering away with one click of the trigger. What do you say?”
Sebastian now realized he was sitting on the step of the alter with his hand on his gun, still loaded. Instead of aiming for Karofsky, who he thought was a total asshole, he pointed his gun and Blaine and shot him. Blaine fell to the floor next to Kurt, dying with Kurt.
He gave Blaine what he wanted.
Cooper started to cry. He started to scream words of hate at Sebastian as Puck and Sam held him back. Finn couldn’t do anything. He just collapsed to the floor, consumed in confusion and hurt and anger. He wanted to kill Sebastian, but he had to raise his son. He couldn’t grow up like his dad. Finn snapped out of his phase and told Dave to run out and grab the police, but he was too late.
Sebastian was already dead.
There was another loud bang of the gun Sebastian was using. He used it on himself. He loved Blaine, but couldn’t admit it in words. He didn’t want to live with the guilt and suffering of killing the one he really loved. He thought dying was the only answer to be free.
Cooper was finally released from Sam and Puck’s grasp. He ran over to his brother and cried over him. “I’m so sorry, Blaine! I know I said that I would protect you, but I let you down and I’m sorry! This is all my fault! I’m so sorry...”
The police, paramedics, and detectives were now all in the church examining the bodies, the gun, and asking Cooper questions.
The sad thing is that no one ever noticed that Kurt and Blaine had their wedding bands on and were laying together, hand in hand, on the steps of the alter where they were supposed to be walking down by now. Kurt and Blaine died together. Sebastian died alone.
And now Sebastian will never know how to be loved.
And Kurt and Blaine cannot show the world what the true meaning of love is.

Aww i'm crying now this is one of the only stories that have acctually made me cry.
ThIs is the most depressing fic I have ever read...
i just finished reading this and it just feels very dream-like. kurt and blaine: married in real life, living together for eternity.
I think a unicorn just died... I didn`t think they were gonna get killed when I started reading this. I don`t like klaine deaths... Other than that, it was really good. The marriage scene was cute . until .. ya know... the whole dying thing. Keep writing (:
