Author's Notes: Just an adorable one-shot for Klaine Week Day 1
“Hey! Give her back!”
“Aw, does Kurtie want his dolly back?” Dave teased.
“Give Ariel back!” Kurt ordered. “She can’t breath for long if she’s completely out of water!”
“She needs water?” Dave said very sarcastically with an eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face. “Well, then...” He turned around, raised the Princess Ariel doll above his head and threw it into the nearby creek. “Let her live,” he finished with a proud smirk on his face.
“You meanie!” Kurt cried, tears streaming down his face. “Now she’ll never find her Prince Eric and it’s all your fault!” Kurt kicked Dave in the leg. Dave just laughed at the sissy-like kick from Kurt. In return, he pushed Kurt down into the wood chips, causing him to scrape his knees.
“David Paul Karofsky!” a man shouted from aside. “You get over here right now! We are going home and you are not coming back to this park for a week!” Dave pouted and marched over to his father.
“Now, Paul, no need to be harsh,” Elizabeth Hummel told the older gentleman. “I don’t think a week is necessary.”
Paul gestured to Elizabeth’s son, still crying on the wood chips. “I think it is. I’ve never seen him react like this. I don’t know what got into him.”
“They’re kids, Paul,” Elizabeth assured. “They have their moments. And don’t keep Dave from the park too long.”
“Elizabeth, relax,” Paul chuckled, grabbing his son’s hand. “A week won’t kill him.” Paul waved goodbye to Elizabeth and walked his son home to discuss what happened.
Elizabeth waved back and was ready to rush over to her son. She stopped her self when she saw a smaller boy with curly black hair, hazel eyes, and a gap where his two front teeth should be in his smile was sitting next to him giving Kurt and option of band-aids for his knees. Elizabeth smiled and said to herself, “He’s finally making friends.”
“I should say the same about my son,” a woman said, who happened to be standing next to Elizabeth. The woman with curly dark brown hair and dark brown eyes offered Elizabeth a hand to shake. “I’m Melinda Anderson,” she told Elizabeth.
Elizabeth took the hand and said, “Elizabeth Hummel. It’s nice to meet you, Melinda.” Elizabeth looked back to Kurt and Melinda’s son. “You’re son’s very adorable. He also seems to be awfully comforting to Kurt.”
Melinda giggled. “That’s my Blainers,” she said. “He was terribly shy when we first moved to Lima. We actually moved from Illinois, so it was like he would have to start his life over. But the way your son is opening up to Blaine is really something.” Melinda sighed. “I just hope we don’t move again. He’d be so sad if he’d have to leave your boy. He seems to really like him.” Blaine came running over to his mother calling, “Mama! Mama! Mama!” Melinda held her arms open and picked up her son. “What is it, Blaine?”
“Kurt wants to know if you brought any Princess band-aids with Ariel on them,” Blaine babbled out.
Melinda kissed her son’s forehead. "Sorry, baby, Cooper used the last one." She then asked Elizabeth, “So, Kurt likes ‘The Little Mermaid’, huh?”
Elizabeth nodded. “And what’s this one’s favorite movie?” she asked bending over to meet Blaine’s eyes, but Blaine shied away into his mother’s shoulder.
Melinda kissed her son’s head and said, “Come on, Blaine. Be nice to Kurt’s mommy.”
Blaine’s head immediately shot up at the words ‘Kurt’s mommy’. “You’re Kurt’s mommy?” Blaine asked with wide eyes and his mouth agape.
“Yes, Blaine, this is my mommy,” Kurt confirmed to his new friend.
Blaine glanced to Kurt, then to Elizabeth, then back to Kurt. He told the glasz-eyed boy, “You have your mommy’s eyes. They’re very pretty.”
Kurt blushed. “No one ever said my eyes were pretty before besides my mommy and daddy.”
Elizabeth picked up her son and kissed his cheek. “Well, it’s true, isn’t it, sweetie?”
Kurt giggled. “I think Blaine’s are prettier,” he replied.
Blaine blushed this time. “They aren’t as pretty as yours.”
Elizabeth and Melinda laughed at how their sons were already embarrassing each other. Melinda set Blaine down and Blaine reached for his mom’s purse and pulled two dolls. He brought them to Kurt and said, “I saw that big kid throw your doll into the river, so I want to give you one of mine. I only have princes, though.”
Kurt smiled and it slowly faded. “But Eric needs to marry Ariel or Ursula will marry him instead.”
“Well, you know, Honey,” Elizabeth began, “princes don’t need to marry princesses. They can marry other princes, too.”
Kurt and Blaine both looked up at Elizabeth in shock. “Really, Mommy?” Kurt asked, eyes wide.
“Of course,” Melinda added. “Love is love. It should be with the person you trust most.”
Kurt turned back to Blaine and picked up the Prince Philip doll. “Thank you, Blaine. I think Eric would love to marry a dreamer, don’t you think?”
“Yup!” Blaine said cheerfully. “And Kurt, one more thing.” Blaine gestured for Kurt to come closer to tell him a secret. Blaine cupped his hands around Kurt’s ear and whispered, “You’d make a very pretty Prince Philip.”
Kurt returned the secret with, “You’d make a handsome a Prince Eric.”
“I hope you will be my Prince Charming when I get older.”
“Me, too, Blaine.” The two boys hugged for a while until Kurt yawned as a signal it was time for a nap.
“Alright, Kurt, time to go home,” Elizabeth told her son.
Melinda grabbed Blaine’s hand. “Daddy just called and said lunch is ready, so we should go, too. What do you think, Blaine?” Melinda asked her 6-year-old son.
“Did he make peanut butter and banana sandwiches?” Blaine asked.
“Only the best for you,” Melinda said, picking up Blaine. “And we’d better get home before Cooper eats them all again.”
“Can I say goodbye to Kurt first, Mommy?” Blaine asked with his adorable puppy dog eyes.
“Yes, you can, munchkin,” Melinda said, putting Blaine down to say goodbye to his new best friend.
Blaine hugged Kurt again and kissed his cheek. “I’ll miss you, Kurt.”
Kurt blushed at the gesture. “I’ll miss you, too, Blaine.” And they all went their separate ways. They kept doing the same thing everyday until Blaine moved again. Kurt always called him saying, “I’m never saying goodbye, Blaine.”
