Author's Notes: Klaine Week Day 4: Klaine Anniversary Sorry the about the uploading problems. It should work now.
It was midnight on March 15th and Kurt couldn’t sleep. His heart was racing and he was filled with joy. His phone lit up with a text from his boyfriend.

Hey, babe! I’m outside waiting!

Kurt smiled at the text. He immediately grabbed his coat, put it over his shoulders, and ran quietly out the door to Blaine’s BMW. He opened the passenger door and climbed inside. When Kurt got settled, Blaine kissed his cheek. “Happy anniversary, Kurt.”

Kurt returned the kiss to Blaine and replied, “Happy anniversary, Blaine.”

“So which present do you want now?” Blaine asked. “The big one of many meanings or the small one of many memories?”

Kurt pondered on the thought to which one he wants first. “Do either of them involve sex?”

“Kurt, the sex comes after the romantic night together,” Blaine explained.

Kurt sighed and decided. “I’ll take the big one first.”

“Why am I not surprised?” Blaine playfully rolled his eyes at Kurt and he pulled out of the driveway.

“What?” Kurt squeaked, slapping Blaine’s arm. “Bigger is better.”

“Which is why you love certain areas of me?” Blaine asked, smirking at Kurt, and finally driving to their destination.

“You mean like your big mouth you can’t keep shut?” Kurt retorted.

“Hey, be nice, it’s our anniversary!” Blaine exclaimed. “Aren’t you happy? I’m just happy that you could put up with me for a year.”r32;
“Now, stop that,” Kurt demanded. “You were never a fuss. It’s just... Don’t get drunk, okay?”

“No drinking tonight,” Blaine confirmed. “Now,” Blaine began as the pulled up the red light. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a blue and red sleep mask. “Put that on and no peeking,” Blaine instructed, handing the mask to Kurt.

“Oh, a surprise,” Kurt said all giddy and happy. “I love surprises.”

“I know you do,” Blaine said, pushing the accelerator pedal down. “Now, put it on. It’s not a surprise if you know what it is.”

“Okay, Mr. Bossy Pants!” Kurt said in an annoyed tone. Kurt put the blindfold on so he couldn’t see anything. “Okay, Blaine. Everything is gone.”

“Great! Because we’re here!”

“Can I take it off now?”

“Nope,” Blaine said as he closed his car door and walked around to open Kurt’s. Blaine grabbed Kurt’s hand, pulled him out of the car, and shut the door behind him. The two boys walked hand-in-hand towards the building. When Blaine opened the double doors, they immediately ran to the staircase. Blaine set Kurt on one step and himself on another. Blaine took off his jacket to reveal his Dalton Academy blazer and he pulled out a tiny box from his blazer and put it behind his back and told Kurt, “Okay, you can take the blindfold off.”

Kurt gently removed the mask and saw where he was. The spiral staircase he was standing on, the dome shaped ceiling, and the blazer Blaine was wearing made Kurt’s breath hitch in his throat. “Blaine, I -”

“Don’t say anything yet,” Blaine told the beautiful boy in front of him. “Now, this is where I first met you. I remember I was going to be late to a Warblers performance, so I checked my watch and it just broke. It stopped time right when I looked at you. And so did my heart.” Blaine pulled out the box from behind his back and gave it to Kurt.

Kurt took the small black box and slowly opened it. His eyes widened as he said, “Y-you’re giving me your pocket watch?”

“This is to remember the first time I saw you. My entire world stopped when I met you, and I’m sorry I didn’t realize that until you sang the most beautiful song ever,” Blaine confessed. “Speaking of which, it’s time to go to our next stop.”

“Do I have to put on the blindfold?” Kurt whined.

“No, but I know a shortcut,” Blaine said, grabbing Kurt’s hand as the ran through the halls of Dalton together. It felt like they were still a year younger when they just met. Everything seemed to go by in slow motion. When they finally arrived at the doors of the senior commons, Blaine opened them and sat down on the couch. “This is the place where I found out I loved you. But I-I think I always knew that I did. When you sang ‘Blackbird’, it was just a reminder of how much I really love and care about you. And it’s all thanks to one little guy.” Blaine pulled out another black box and gave it to Kurt.

Kurt opened the second box and saw a small golden bird charm on a gold chain. Tears started to form in his eyes as he whispered, “Pavarotti...”

“It was all because of Pav that we met,” Blaine said, standing up. “I thought maybe we could pay him a visit later.”

Kurt ignored all the words Blaine said and kissed him. It wasn’t needy or sloppy like they kissed sometimes. This was just a perfect, tender, passionate kiss. “Blaine, I-I don’t care about anything else you do tonight for our anniversary. I don’t want to visit Pav. I don’t want to have celebratory sex. I just want to be with you tonight. Here. Where I knew I loved you.” The two boys smiled and kissed again, this time much quicker. Kurt sat them both back down on the couch as Blaine sang ‘Teenage Dream’ softly to him. When Kurt finally fell asleep, Blaine carried him out back to the car, drove him home, and slept with him in his bed. Before Blaine went to sleep, he kissed Kurt’s forehead and whispered, “Happy Anniversary, Kurt. I love you.”
