Blaine ignored the smirks from Wes and David as he checked his phone. He was probably making a fool of himself but he couldn’t help it, Kurt was just his type and he wanted nothing more than to have the beautiful teen as his boyfriend. He had resigned himself that it might never happen if the Glee Club grapevine was right. The grapevine insisted that the pale, beautiful singer wasn’t interested in having a boyfriend. Blaine hoped it was wrong because to wanted nothing more than to have Kurt in his arms.
“Don’t look at me like that!” Blaine said annoyed.
“Have I said anything?” Wes said with a conspiring grin to David.
David laughed, “Blaine, it’s only six thirty and you’ve checked your phone ten times. He probably isn’t even awake, who gets up this early in the morning? Hell, we’re only up because you woke me up writing a song for your ever so endearing spy. Not that it helped, we've been up an hour and you haven't got any further than the first line.”
Blaine answered quickly, “Kurt does. It takes him at fifty minutes to get ready and then he spends thirty minutes practicing the song he has chosen for Glee Club.”
Wes arched an eyebrow, “I find it kinda creepy that you know that. Does he know you have turned into a stalker?”
“I don’t stalk him. It just came up in conversation.”
David said sceptically, “I can’t think of a conversation where it would come up, Blaine. We all know you are head over heels with him so just let him know how you feel. At least then we won't have to put up with you getting us up at the crack of dawn.”
Blaine explained, “I don’t want to make him freak out. He probably hasn’t even thought about dating anyone, he’s probably still trying to understand his sexuality.”
David snorted, “Mr Endearing doesn’t strike me as the confused type. I’ve had enough of this, either you phone and ask Kurt out or your entire Katy Perry collection gets destroyed. I'll melt the CDs and wipe her from your hard drive.”
“There’s no need to be malicious,” Blaine said aghast that his friend would even contemplate doing such a thing.
Wes explained calmly, “Blaine, you have regaled us with details of the wonder that is Kurt since you met. I know more about how beautiful his eyes are than I ever wanted to know. You need to man up and ask him out.”
Blaine sighed, “If I call him... and he agrees to go out with me, I don’t want you two to ruin everything. I remember what you did to the last guy I started seeing.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Wes said innocently.
“You interrogated him about his intentions while David just happened to have his Sai swords in his hands.”
“I had a class.” David protested.
Blaine said seriously, “Yeah, the next day!”
“I promise we’ll go easy on him but if he hurts you all bets are off.”
Blaine said relieved, “Thanks, Wes. What should say?”
Smirking Wes answered, “Tell him how his eyes are like stars and how you want to kiss his rose tinted lips.”
David continued, “Or how his smile brightens your day and his effortless grace is simply breathtaking.”
Blaine scowled at his supposed friends; he couldn’t believe they were using his own words against him. There was no way he could say any of those things to Kurt without looking like an idiot, and there was no way Kurt would want to go out with a fool. No, he had to be suave...he could do that, at least he hoped he could. Blaine stared at his phone and hoped for some kind of inspiration. He wanted to make it something Kurt would never forget. Suddenly inspiration hit, there was only one way he could ask Kurt out that would blow the younger teen's mind.
“Wes...have we still got the costumes from last year’s show?”
“I think so...why?” Wes asked confused.
“I’ve got the best idea.” Blaine said with a wide grin.
“I don’t think he’s into role play.” Wes said giving David a worried look.
Wes wondered if it had been a bad idea to convince Blaine to ask Kurt out when he had only slept for around four hours?
“Stop looking at me like that and help me,” Blaine said sternly.

Sitting at the back of the music room, Kurt ignored Rachel’s latest diatribe of how she was so much better than everyone else and deserved the solo. He had learnt how to drone out the sound of her incessant whining, while he had to admit she had a fairly good singing voice, she was a little too focused and sometimes oblivious to how it made others feel.
Startled by the sudden silence, Kurt looked up from his phone where he was checking the new Gucci range and his mouth dropped open in shock.
Blaine was standing at the door wearing a navy uniform looking like something out of a romance novel...not that Kurt read them, of course. With a charming, breath taking smile, Blaine walked into the room and up the steps to where Kurt was sitting.
Looking into Kurt’s beautiful eyes Blaine said seriously, “Kurt, you are everything I always wanted. Your smile brightens my day, your eyes haunt my dreams...the grace with which you move is simply breathtaking. Would you do me the honour of going a date with me?”
“I...I’d love to. I can’t believe you did this, Blaine!” Kurt said breathlessly.
“I remembered you liked Officer and a Gentleman. It’s okay, right?” Blaine said nervously.
“Of course!” Kurt said blushing slightly.
Rachel stood up saying, “Wait! Kurt, you can’t go out with him. He’s going to pull a Jesse! Why else would he want to go out with you!”
Kurt couldn’t help but flinch at the girl’s words, while he and Rachel had never been friends; he didn’t realise she thought so little of him.
“Rachel, that’s enough!” Mr Schuster admonished, causing the girl to turn red.
Blaine narrowed his eyes at the upright, arrogant soloist, he had no idea how she could think so little of Kurt.
“That’s harsh, Berry.” Puck said shocked at the girl’s cruelty.
Blaine said coldly, “Ms Berry, I'll have you know that I have asked Kurt out because unlike others I recognise how beautiful he is internally and externally.”
“So where are we going for our date?” Kurt said excited.
“I have tickets to the Lima Players performance of Easter Parade and then we can go to Breadstix.”
Kurt said awed, “That sounds wonderful.”
“Just like you. I am going to make today the best day of your life.”
“It already is, Blaine.”
With a polite smile at the people standing around Kurt, Blaine said, “Are you ready to go now, Kurt?”
Kurt said seriously, “Yes but you are not carrying me out of here. This is my favourite outfit and you are not going to crease it.”
Blaine bowed softly before holding out a hand, which Kurt took before leading the dark haired teen out of the room. As they walked down the corridors, Kurt ignored the speculative glances and frowns from the general population. He wasn’t going to let anyone ruin this moment for him, he had just been asked on a date by the boy of his dreams and that’s all that mattered.
