Takes place during 3x22: Good-bye. Kurt tells Blaine he didn't get into NYADA. Contains spoilers from 3x22: Good-bye, as well as minor spoilers from 3x20: Props, and 3x18: Choke
Author's Notes: I have this up on my tumblr, so I figured I would add it here too. This is what I would have loved to see in last night's episode. Kurt doesn't get into NYADA and what, we don't see if he tells Blaine at all? Are you kidding me? (I have feelings okay -- and lots of them) Disclaimer: I do not own Glee. I do not own Kurt Hummel, Blaine Anderson or any of the other characters from Glee.
Kurt didn't even bother to keep the letter in its unfolded form. He crumpled it up in his fist, limbs trembling.
He didn't understand. Madame Tibideaux had thought his audition was impressive.
"Congratulations on taking such a risk today."
Rachel had choked. She had stalked Tibideaux, begging her for another chance, to see New Directions at Nationals.
And she had...but Kurt was pretty sure that did not classify as Rachel's second chance...at least, he didn't think so.
The brunette reached for his phone and typed out a text to Blaine.
To: Blaine
Where are you? Rachel, Finn and I opened our letters.
His boyfriend's response didn't take long to reach him.
From: Blaine
I'm waiting by my locker. Everything okay?
Tears welled in the countertenor's eyes, but he fought the urge to cry as he watched Finn and Rachel leave the choir room.
Kurt sniffled as he sent another text to Blaine before collapsed into one of the chairs.
To: Blaine
No...come to the choir room? Please?
From: Blaine
I'll be there in five seconds.
The chuckle that came out of his mouth mixed with a sob, and suddenly, he couldn't stop -- he just broke. The letter fell out of his hand and dropped to the floor as he leaned forward, both arms wrapping around himself, crying uncontrollably.
He barely heard Blaine's breathless 'Kurt', but he definitely felt the gentle arms curling around him, and leaned into the jun -- senior's chest.
"I didn't get in," he sobbed, "Blaine, I didn't get into NYADA."
Blaine frowned as he sat down in the chair next to Kurt. He didn't understand.
"But -- how? Your audition was amazing. Tibideaux even said --" he broke off and tightened his hold on the other boy. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart."
"It's not fair." Kurt buried his face in Blaine's chest, trying to regain his composure. "I -- she didn't even get her second audition, and she got in. She stalked Tibideaux, badgered her incessantly on the phone...I just...I don't understand."
Blaine felt his jaw drop, but tried to mask his surprise as best he could.
"Rachel was accepted at NYADA?" He felt Kurt nod, and lifted one hand to gently stroke the soft brown locks of his boyfriend's hair. "I don't know what to say."
"W-What do I do now?" asked Kurt, terrified. It scared the crap out of him to not know what was in store for his future anymore.
"You're getting to New York one way or another," he said quietly. "We're going to look at other schools, and we're going to plan. Then I'll help you with the applications and we'll send them in...and you'll get accepted. You will." he said when Kurt looked up at him, tear tracks glistening on his cheeks.
"I love you." he said.
"I know." Blaine's lips brushed gently against his own. "I love you too."
End Notes: Like I said, I had a lot of feelings about the finale. I hope you all liked this!
