Kurt and Blaine go to the park with their son, but Blaine realizes he's not as young as he used to be.
"Slow down, Trev!" Blaine called after his son, trying to keep up as they charged toward a large tree that was too enticing not to climb. Trevor began his ascend, Blaine right on his heels.
"Careful, honey," Kurt called from the ground. Blaine looked back at his husband.
"I'm fine, Kurt. It's just a tree."
"Well, I worry about you." Blaine started to smile. "You're not sixteen anymore, you know." Blaine glared at Kurt's smirk.
"I'm not that old," Blaine grumbled as he turned back to the task at hand, heaving himself further up the wooden ladder. "Besides, not all of us can look like Greek gods when we're thirty-five."
"Hurry up, slow poke!" Trevor called from above and Blaine looked up, only able to see his son's Spider Man shoes flashing red and blue as he trekked further.
"I'm coming, buddy," Blaine called, but he was already getting tired; he definitely wasn't sixteen anymore. Blaine grabbed another branch and pulled himself up higher. "I just gotta- whoa!" The branch Blaine had grabbed tore away from the tree, and Blaine let out a breathy laugh as he watched it fall to the ground. Well, that was close.
"B, I think it's time for you to come down."
"Kurt, relax, I'm fine." Blaine extended his arm to grab the next branch. A second later his back was colliding with the grassy floor.
"Oh my god, are you okay?" Kurt cried and ran to his side. Blaine groaned as pain seared through his spine. Kurt touched his arms, his chest, his hands moving frantically, not knowing where he was hurt but wanting to do something. Blaine grabbed one of Kurt's hands to still it and squeezed slightly, forcing a smile so his husband would relax. Blaine rolled onto his side and reached behind him with his free hand, withdrawing a branch that had snapped under his weight. "Oh, Blaine." Kurt's eyes were large and he looked so worried.
"I'm fine, Kurt, really." Blaine heard feet drop on the grass beside him and a second later saw the curly hair and bright blue eyes of his son.
"Are you okay, Dad?"
"Of course I am, buddy. You're dad's indestructible." Kurt sighed and Trevor stared at Blaine for a moment. Kurt lifted his hand and placed a kiss on Blaine's knuckles.
"Daddy!" Trevor said, suddenly excited. "Kiss Dad's owie so it can heal better." Kurt smiled at his son, then at his husband. Blaine stuck out his bottom lip and gave Kurt his best puppy dog eyes which he was way too good at. Kurt poked Blaine's side.
"Alright, roll over Hummel." Blaine's face lit up and he rolled over onto his stomach, smiling as he felt his husband's lips through the thin cotton of his t-shirt.
"You know, I think I hurt my lip, too."
