It was the week of Kurt’s NYADA audition, he’d been distant, he was ignoring everyone. Blaine tried numerous times to get Kurt to come get coffee with him but he refused, Blaine just wanted to take him to do something that’d take his mind off the impending audition. But Kurt withdrew, he wouldn’t even talk properly with Blaine, which led to Blaine thinking the worst… Kurt was going to break up with him.

Blaine's mind reeled over this going over everything in their relationship, to figure out where he went wrong … and there it was clear as day, Kurt was cheating on him with Sebastian, that’s why he didn’t like Blaine talking to him, that’s why he wanted to go to scandals, and when Blaine had been asking him out on dates this past week he’d had ones with Sebastian. He couldn’t believe Kurt would do that to him, he thought Kurt loved him…

It was also Whitney Houston week in Glee Club, and Blaine had found the perfect song to let Kurt know that he knew, he knew about Kurt and Sebastian.

“So Blaine, you said you’d been working on something?” stated Mr Schue

“Yes, I recently discovered something” he said looking pointedly at Kurt “and this song fully expresses what I feel”

“Well you have the floor whenever you’re ready”

Kurt was confused, he was just staring at his boyfriend trying to figure him out, what did he mean?

Blaine signed for the band to start playing, this song fitted with the assignment and told Kurt how he felt about, the inevitable break-up because obviously Kurt was much happier with Sebastian, because why would he leave Blaine, Blaine was certain they we’re happy… they had been. It broke his heart.

Why is Blaine singing this song to me, I’d never cheat on him ever he means far too much, Kurt thought as he sat watching Blaine sing. He had slightly neglected Blaine this past week, but he’d be worrying about NYADA auditions… He thought Blaine understood, He loved Blaine… if he really thought this it was time for Kurt to change that. The cogs began to turn in his head as he planned the best Whitney number for him to do for Blaine, he began to hatch a plan…

Blaine felt his anger rising, why didn't Kurt just come out and tell him instead of playing this little game, blowing him off… for Sebastian the obviously ‘better’ option. Blaine could see Kurt's point, he was taller than Kurt, his ass wasn’t too bad and once you got to know him he wasn’t all that bad… he was the polar opposite of Blaine, he supposed Kurt fancied a change. There was a break-up coming soon anyway, when Kurt moved to New York with Rachel, they’d live to far away… It’d be hard, But Blaine had never thought the boy he loved, the one he saw himself spending the rest of his life would dump him for someone else…ever. Blaine's vision clouded with tears, hot angry sad tears, they stung his eyes, but he refused to let Kurt see what he’d done to Blaine… he shattered him, he’d never be whole again.

When he’d finished Blaine fled the choir room. He ran down the corridors, when he felt he was a sufficient distance from the choir room he collapsed and broke down. He honestly couldn’t believe that Kurt would do this, which made it all the more painful.

“Blaine?” said a quiet voice from down the corridor “Blaine, what was all that about?”

It was Kurt, he had some nerve… he knew exactly what it was about, he must know, what else could it be…

“Shouldn’t it be me asking that huh?” Kurt just stared blankly at Blaine.

Oh he was good, he had the innocent little boy down to an art, it used to make him adorable but right now it annoyed Blaine more than anything why wouldn’t he just do it, or break-up with already, most of the pain was waiting for the inescapable discussion.

“Blaine, I really don’t know… I’m guessing it’s about how ive been acting this past week…”

“You think? Kurt, you been blowing me off and when you are with me you’re not actually with me was I really supposed to not figure it out?”

“Figure what out Blaine.” said Kurt

“Oh, so you’re going to play it like that then? Fine! I’ll just pretend that I don’t know… and we’ll continue how we are. Yeah is that what you want?”

“What are you on about Blaine? erm yes I’d like to continue the way we are” said Kurt, he really had no idea what Blaine was on about.

“Well, I’m not sure if I do” Blaine shouted, “I want all of you, not just a fraction… I figure out your little ruse, well played, but one question… why him? Kurt why him, after all he did to us?

“Okay, Blaine what ruse? And why who?”

“Sebastian, you’re dating him now! Don’t get me wrong it was very clever. Bravo Kurt… Bravo.”

“I think you may be a little delusional, why would I one, cheat on you I love you and two, I hate the guy especially after the slushie” Kurt snapped.

“Don’t lie to me Kurt! I figured it all out”

“Okay, there’s no point trying to make you see reason, Just will you come to the auditorium tomorrow at 2:30 please, I could really use your support, Just please Blaine, as a friend…”

Blaine needed to be there, Blaine’s thoughts had been clear from the moment he started singing that song, he thought Kurt didn’t love him anymore, which killed Kurt, Blaine had to be there tomorrow Kurt had big plans.

“Fine! I’ll think about it” said Blaine before storming off down the corridor.

Kurt had a lot of planning to do, he quickly dialled a number on his phone.

“Hey H. I need your help, I have a big plan for tomorrow Lima Bean 40 minutes” said Kurt walking quickly towards the parking lot.

He climbed in to his car and sped towards the Lima Bean, ready to plan the big surprise for tomorrow, he just hoped that Blaine would show.

As Blaine entered the auditorium, he saw a short brown haired girl sitting near the stage, she must be the NYADA scout, Blaine hid himself in the darker half of the auditorium. He had been on the fence about coming but Kurt meant a lot to him, even if he’d broken his heart. Then Kurt walked across the stage…

“Hi, my name is Kurt Hummel, and I’m auditioning singing Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing…”

“Hello, Kurt I’m Harmony, begin when you are ready.” said the dark haired girl.

Kurt’s eyes scanned the seats and settled on Blaine, thank god he’d come Blaine needed to hear him sing this, if he really thought that Kurt didn’t love him anymore.

Why was Kurt singing this song, was he singing it for Blaine? Was he wrong about Kurt and Sebastian? Kurt started singing his eyes fixed on Blaine.

Blaine didn’t know what he was doing but before he knew it he was walking down the steps towards the stage his eyes fixed on Kurt, he was wrong Kurt did still love him… Blaine had never felt more in love with Kurt than he did now.

When the song finished Kurt dismounted the stage and ran in to Blaine, Blaine had his arms open and enveloped Kurt in a hug.

“I love you so much Blaine,” said Kurt into Blaine shoulder, tears still running down his face.

“I know, I’m sorry about yesterday Kurt, I let my mind run away with me and I’m really sorry” said Blaine eyes glistening with tears.

“No Blaine, it’s me who should be sorry, I shouldn’t have pushed you away, I was just really worried about my audition”

“Oh yeah, you should go find out how it went” said Blaine pushing him forward towards Harmony

“Well… I already had it, and I got in” said Kurt, smiling mischievously

“That’s great Kurt, but what was this”

“Well, I knew that in the state of mind you we’re in you wouldn’t just want to meet me and we didn’t have glee and I needed you to hear that song… because I couldn’t believe that you thought I didn’t still love you. So I planned this with Harmony, she’s a fellow NYADA finalist, me and Rachel met her a while back, she’s the lead singer of the Unitards…”

“Wow, you put a lot of work into telling me you still love me, but what about when you go off to New York next year, what’s going to happen to us? I don’t want to lose you Kurt”

“Well… Nothing is going to happen to us Blaine I love you, and I don’t want to lose you either, so…” Kurt was literally shaking with excitement.

“What…?”asked Blaine.

“Well, the NYADA scout loved me and my singing so much that they 100% want me at NYADA… so they are letting me defer a year, so I can go to New York with you next year…”

Blaine was shocked into silence after a few moments he spoke again.

“You-you would do that for me? what about Rachel?”

“Rachel has Finn, and I’m not doing it for you, I’m doing it for us… because I want to, because I want to spend the rest of my life with you and one day get married” said Kurt as he pulled a small black satin box out of his pocket and got down on one knee.

“Blaine, you mean everything to me, you’ve helped me though a lot, and I love you, would you wear this promise ring, to symbolise my promise that I will always be faithful to you, and will always love you”

“Of course I will Kurt, I love you!” said Blaine, tears of joy streaming down his face, Kurt slid the simple silver band up Blaine’s finger and stood up.

Blaine took Kurt in his arms dipped him and planted a kiss on his lips.

“Oh you boys” said Harmony, dabbing her eyes “Kurt, you’ve got yourself a Keeper, and Blaine don’t ever let him go, Kurt is amazing”

“We know” they said in unison.

With that Harmony left.

“I’m so glad I came” said Blaine, his arms looped around Kurt’s waist, his forehead resting against Kurt's.

“Me too” Kurt smiled and pressed a kiss to Blaine’s nose.
