Based off of "the shove" between Blaine and Karofsky.

"I can't believe he actually went for it! It's going to be fantastic, Blaine!" Kurt didn't expect for things to be going to smoothly his first week back at McKinley. He also didn't expect for Mr. Schuester to agree with his song selection for this week's number.
With their history, it was usually a hit or miss when it came to Kurt's suggestions for New Directions, but Mr. Schuester was all for Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." Apparently the whole 'accepting yourself and not being ashamed of who you are' message really appealed to him.
To say Kurt was excited was an understatement. So when he slipped out of rehearsals to use the rest room, he immediately called Blaine afterwards. He needed to share his excitement and good news with Blaine. "It's going to be flawless! Flawless, I'm telling you."
Kurt lingered in the locker room, taking a seat on the nearby bench in front of him. He never understood why every bathroom was locked after school except for the locker rooms. However, at the moment he didn't mind. It gave him some privacy to talk to Blaine anyway.
"I do, but the downside of it all is not being able to see you every day." Their conversation quickly changed subjects when Blaine mentioned how Kurt obviously favored being back at McKinley over Dalton. When Kurt informed Blaine that he was transferring back, Blaine flipped. The two hashed it out so bad they didn't talk for days.
Blaine thought the idea was idiotic. Going back to a school where you were physically abused and taunted on a day to day basis sounded like the worst idea ever. But Kurt felt like he needed to make the transfer back. He didn't fell whole at Dalton and Blaine knew that without a doubt.
He remembered how difficult it was for Kurt to try to blend in amongst The Warblers but that still wasn't a good enough reason for Kurt to transfer back in Blaine's eyes. Kurt going back to McKinley meant Kurt had to deal with Karofsky once again and that terrified Blaine. How could he let Kurt go back without fearing that something terrible would happen to him?
Secretly, Kurt was terrified too, but he made sure to keep Blaine at ease by letting him know he had everything under control. Karofsky hadn't touched Kurt since that day in the locker room. Since returning to McKinley, Kurt only noticed the stalker-like glares he received from him on occasion.
As his first week progressed, he realized Karofsky didn't frighten him anymore. Kurt never once looked at him and the only time they saw each other was now in Glee Club. Even then they never spoke to each other.
Karofsky had joined New Directions soon after his performance during McKinley's big game of the season. Kurt noticed the jock prancing around with his friends during the game and he wasn't going to ignore the fact that Glee Club would be good for Karofsky.
It was where you could express yourself freely without being judged. Kurt knew Karofsky would benefit from joining Glee Club; it was a safe haven and a good outlet for emotions.
Kurt knew that Karofsky needed an outlet heavily. He related to Karofsky all too well. Karofsky was so far in the closet he was having tea with Mr. Tumnus. He wasn't going to come to terms with who he was anytime soon. Karofsky was in denial and Kurt knew these feelings all too well.
Losing himself in the conversation, Kurt was still on the phone with Blaine. Abruptly, he was pulled back into reality when he heard someone burst through the locker room doors. "Blaine, I… I've got to go." Startled, Kurt flew from the bench to behind a row of lockers. The only students that would still be around McKinley besides Glee Club members would be jocks who were possibly working out.
It could have been another Glee Clubber in search for an open bathroom but he knew those chances were slim to none. Who else would come into the locker room though? Assuming it was, Kurt thought if he hid behind a row of lockers, he could wait it out until the jock left.
The loud obnoxious noise of fists colliding against a locker filled Kurt's ears unexpectedly. Okay, so this jock was angry to say the least. This intrigued Kurt, so peaking around the lockers, he searched around for the jock. The angry jock turned out to be none other than David Karofsky, who clearly thought he was alone in the locker room.
"I can't do this!" Bang! Another fist pounded against a locker. Kurt noticed frustration and sadness in Karofsky's eyes then. Something in the way that Karofsky looked tore at Kurt for some reason. Kurt genuinely cared for every human being, so Karofsky was included in that category. Kurt flat out pitied him. Stepping out from the lockers, Kurt mustered up the courage to speak. "What can't you do?"
Karofsky spun around, locking eyes on Kurt. He looked like a deer caught in head lights. Alarmed, Karofsky turned back around in an attempt to avoid eye contact with Kurt. "What are you doing in here, Kurt?" Kurt? That was different. Karofsky rarely used Kurt's actual name. Fancy or Lady Face were names he was accustomed to.
"I could ask you the same question, Karofsky." Kurt stepped forward, unbeknownst to Karofsky whose back was to him. He repeated himself again. "What can't you do?" Kurt swore he saw Karofsky shudder when he asked again. Karofsky realized Kurt wasn't going to let this go.
"I can't do that song. I won't." Karofsky spoke softly, his voice laced with sadness. Kurt stepped in front of Karofsky, unafraid. Karofsky was too torn to hurt Kurt, he was sure of it. His guard was definitely down and Kurt sought this as the perfect time to try to reach out to the broken jock.
"I know you're scared shitless of coming to terms with who you are." Karofsky's eyes shifted from Kurt to the floor, a familiar sight Kurt recognized. Kurt thought back to the conference held between him and Karofsky in Figgins' office, the one where both their fathers were present. The look reminded him of the desperate one he saw Karofsky shoot him while leaving Figgins' office.
"The Glee Club, they won't judge you if… you come out, David." Kurt decided to use Karofsky's first name to stress the seriousness of the conversation at hand. "I… I'm not you. I'm not as strong as you are. I can't just…" Karofsky finally looked up, locking eyes with Kurt. Then all of a sudden, he snapped. Rage surged through Karofsky as fast as a speeding bullet.
"No! I can't… I refuse! I'm not…" Kurt knew Karofsky would never say "gay" out loud. Karofsky was too far in denial. So, Kurt finished his sentence instead. "Gay?" Shaking his head violently, Karofsky began pounding the lockers repetitively. No, Kurt wasn't going to let him succumb to this anger, this hatred he held towards himself for being born this way.
In an attempt to get him to stop, Kurt tried to pull on one of Karofsky's strong arms but failed miserably. "Lay off, Fancy!" And with that, Karofsky shoved Kurt away and up against a locker. This was the Karofsky Kurt knew all too well.
"If you lay another one of your ungrateful, meaty hands on him I will personally kick your ass."
Both boys froze, their eyes shot straight to the door. Blaine stood in the doorway of the locker room. What was he doing here? "Excuse me, what was that, hobbit?"
Blaine walked over to Karofsky and stood right in front of him. "Don't pretend like you didn't hear me. Keep your hands off of him." Kurt wondered where the hell all of this was coming from. He had never seen Blaine lose his cool like this before. To be honest, seeing Blaine act so aggressive was a turn on.
But Karofsky couldn't take Blaine seriously, so he laughed right in his face. "Control your little friend, Fancy. I don't think he wants to meet The Fury." Karofsky paid no mind to Blaine who was now getting closer. Looking past Blaine, he noticed a stunned Kurt whose fingers were pinching at the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
The last thing Kurt wanted was for this to be blown out of proportion and get out of control. "Blaine…" Calling his name out loud did nothing though.
"I don't want you talking to him let alone laying your eyes on him. And you better not think of laying another hand on him." Kurt was sure he saw steam coming out of Blaine's ears. He could see Blaine's jaw tighten in fury.
Karofsky shifted his gaze from Kurt to Blaine. "Oh please." Rolling his eyes, he stepped an inch closer to Blaine, holding his ground like the alpha male he thought he was. "I tried being nice to you, help you out. But clearly you're incapable of understanding simple sentences. So listen closely, meathead." Blaine's hands were now clenched into tight fists at his sides.
"Stay away from my boyfriend, Karofsky!" Kurt nearly choked upon hearing Blaine speak. Boyfriends? When did this happen? Sure things had changed after they kissed but Blaine had never asked Kurt to formally be his boyfriend. This whole boyfriend thing was news to Kurt. Karofsky didn't take this news well, it only enraged him.
"Stay away from your boyfriend, huh? Why don't you make me?" And with that, Blaine brought his hands up from his side and to Karofsky's chest, shoving him. Oh God. Kurt looked away in embarrassment. How old were they, 9? The whole 'make me' thing was so elementary. Plus, Karofsky would find Blaine's little shoving act hilarious.
But Kurt was wrong, so very wrong. Karofsky lunged back at Blaine, shoving him. Before this became into an outright brawl, Kurt stepped in the middle of Blaine and Karofsky. Stretching his arms out between them both, one palm laying on each boy's chest, he managed to separate the two. "Stop this!"
Kurt looked at Karofsky first with pleading eyes. It was fairly obvious that Karofsky would destroy Blaine in a fist fight. No offence to Blaine, but by their sizes you could tell that Karofsky would do some serious damage. His eyes quickly shifted to Blaine, confused and bothered. All three boys stood there in the middle of the locker room, silent.
Karofsky turned away and made his way to the locker room door in a huff. No one saw that coming. Once out of complete sight, Kurt turned to Blaine. His hands glided from Blaine's chest and onto his hips. Kurt, prepared with his infamous bitch sneer and widened eyes, looked at Blaine with disbelief. "Are you out of your goddamn mind? He could have killed you!"
Blaine's features softened as he shrugged. "I could have taken him easily." Kurt just stared at Blaine, his eyes saying "You've got to be fucking me!" Removing his hands from Blaine's hips, Kurt grabbed his hand and brought him over to the bench. He turned slightly to face Blaine. "What are you even doing here?"
"Well, I was going to crash your Glee Club rehearsal and whisk you away as a surprise. But when I showed up in the choir room and you were nowhere to be found I went to look for you. That's when I heard a bang." Blaine scooted closer to Kurt, their hips touching each others. "I expected the worst, and thank God I did." Worry and terror flashed through Blaine's face. He slipped his thumb over Kurt's. "Are you alright?"
It was hard for Kurt to be mad at Blaine when he just almost got his ass kicked for him. Kurt wasn't used to someone caring for him that much. Blaine was willing to get physically hurt for him. "I'm fine." Nodding, he dropped Blaine's hand and pulled him into a thankful hug. He heard Blaine release a sigh of relief as he pressed his face into Kurt's neck.
Kurt brought one of his hands up to the top of Blaine's head and stroked his curls soothingly. "Just next time you try to defend my honor, try picking a fight you're actually going to win." Blaine lifted his head in protest but Kurt quickly cut him off. "Challenge him to a sing-off or something." Both boys laughed at Kurt's obvious joke as they stood up from the bench.
Before making their way out of the locker room, Kurt pressed a soft, chaste kiss to Blaine's lips. "And yes, I'll be your boyfriend." Blaine took Kurt's hand with a beaming smile and together they strolled out of the locker room.
