This story is based off of (http://cheatersyd.tumblr.com/post/14002607321) this post on tumblr. Kurt and Blaine dance to Never let Me Go by Lloyd Price in Blaine's room before Kurt goes to New York.
It had been a week since they talked.
It all started when Kurt suggested that they take a break while he was in New York. Just to look around, nothing serious. But as soon as the words left Kurt’s lips, he regretted them. Blaine’s face had fallen and he simply said “Okay” and left.
Kurt felt horrible. He tried to get a hold of Blaine, but Blaine seemed to be avoiding him.
Kurt was running out of time. The summer was over and he was headed to New York the next morning. He had to talk to Blaine before he left.
Kurt pulled up to Blaine’s house around 7:15. He knocked on the door and Blaine's mother, Elaine, answered. He gave her a short greeting and asked to see Blaine.
He walked into Blaine’s room without knocking. The moment he opened the door, Blaine’s expression changed. It was as if he went from being happy to see Kurt to tearing up again as he remembered everything that had happened between the two.
Kurt sat next to him on his bed.
“Blaine”
Blaine looked into Kurt's eyes with a hurt expression.
“I’m so sorry. I- I never should have even said what I did. It was just- my dad said that we were too young to be so serious and that I should just try looking around. I was so stressed out and I am so stupid. I love you and I never want to let you go Blaine-"
Blaine kissed him, and Kurt sighed with relief. That kiss had made everything right in the world. He realized he and Blaine could and would make it... Through anything.
“Kurt, I love you. I’m sorry I didn’t text you back or answer any of your calls. I was just so broken. The thought of you being with someone else just killed me.”
Kurt pulled Blaine into a hug.
“Blaine, can you do something for me?”
“Anything.”
“Dance with me.”
Blaine realized what Kurt just had told him and became confused.
“Here? Now? There’s no music.”
"Then sing with me.”
They both got up and danced around Blaine’s small room gently. Kurt hummed in Blaine’s ear and slowly started singing.
Darling, hold me...
Blaine immediately recognized the song and cried silently into Kurt’s shoulder. Kurt had felt the tears, and his heart broke, but he continued singing.
Hold me. Hold me...
He whispered into Blaine’s ear the next lines of the song.
and never ever ever let me go...
They continued to sway while Kurt finished the song. Afterwards they reminisced of their high school memories and talked about how soon Blaine would be in New York, with Kurt.
Eventually Kurt had to leave.
He promised Blaine they would pick him up on the way to the airport in the morning. They shared a quick kiss at the doorway and in seconds Kurt was gone.
Morning came too soon for the both of them. Kurt was at Blaine's house to get him at 5 and they held hands in the car the entire time. They barley said a word, as they both knew that no words could express how either of them were feeling right at that moment.
When they got to the airport, Kurt asked himself why he didn’t just decide to wait another year in Ohio for Blaine. Blaine was on edge and knew that the moment he tried to say something he would break down. So they just stood in the middle of the airport holding each other. Trying to memorize how it felt. Or maybe trying to hold on tight enough to see if it would last until Christmas break.
As soon as they heard Burt’s voice, they knew their time was up.
“It’s time Kurt.”
They both broke down. Kurt grabbed Blaine’s face between both of his hands.
“Look at me. I love you, Blaine. And we can get through this. I promise everything will be fine. I will see you soon, okay?”
Kurt wiped the tears from Blaine’s eyes and Blaine nodded.
“Okay. I love you so much Kurt. I’ll be strong for us. I promise.”
They shared a passionate kiss, not caring who saw, and hugged one last time. Blaine brought his mouth close to Kurt’s ear and whispered,
I’ll never say goodbye to you.
When Blaine finally released Kurt, he wished he never had. Kurt turned around and walked away.
As he walked up the steps to the plane, he turned around and found Blaine's eyes and mouthed
“I love you.”
With a tear running down Blaine’s face, he whispered,
“I love you too, Kurt. More than anything.”
