Author's Notes: Spoilers Through 4.16, Spec for the rest of the season based on rumors. Written for Klaineweek2013 on tumblr, for the "reunion" prompt. So when I wrote this, I had a few headcanons floating around, as well as some desires for Kurt and Blaine's reunion and they all sort of manifested in this. Yes, this is probably unlikely, but for awhile I was wondering if Regionals was so late in the season because New Directions would lose. I've also speculated that Klaine this season is loosely paralleling Finchel from season two, and the idea that Kurt and Blaine would reunite at Regionals (and that's why they would lose), is a theory I still cannot shake.
Agreeing to come to Regionals when Blaine asks doesn't seem like that big of a deal at the time. He and Blaine are friends; of course he says he'll go. Rachel's already going, looking forward to see Finn again now that this whole Brody mess is over, and Santana's going because they're going (so she says, but Kurt's pretty sure she's really just going so she can talk to Brittany about her future plans). What he doesn't expect is that Adam would want to come along as well.

Because he does and he is.

When Adam makes the suggestion, Kurt agrees because he doesn't know how to say no without sounding like a dick. He also knows the only reason Adam even wants to go is so he can meet Blaine, the proverbial elephant of their relationship.

The four of them fly in the night before, Rachel heading off to her parents' house. Kurt's parents are in DC that weekend, so he and Adam are basically going to be sharing the house with Finn and Sam, who was still holed up in their guest room so he could finish out his senior year.

It's awkward, showing Adam around the house where he'd spent most of his time with Blaine. His room is still filled with a lot of his things – remnants of high school, of prom, and New Directions that he hadn't been able to take with him to New York, thanks to lack of space (and, if he's honest, after the break up some of them had hurt too much to look at, so he'd shipped them home to his dad). Adam's careful gaze travels the room and then, smile on his face, he suggests they go watch a movie downstairs.

On the way down, Kurt's pretty sure he hears Sam's voice – it sounds like he's on the phone with someone from the breaks in the conversation, though he can't really hear what's being discussed until they're at the top of the stairs.

"I don't know, dude. He's tall, blonde and British. You tell me if that's hot."

Kurt's face flames and he purposefully doesn't look at Adam. He wonders who Sam is talking to but he's pretty sure he already knows.

*

Regionals morning is hectic. Adam sleeps on the couch so he ends being the last one in the shower, something Kurt sort of feels bad about but he doesn't think he could have slept in his bed with Adam. He and Blaine have slept in that bed and it would feel weird.

Finn and Sam complain that they're going to be late and usher them out the door. Kurt wishes for a moment that he still had his Navigator, saying so on the drive. They're going to meet everyone there, and it is truly everyone, Kurt realizes when they arrive.

Sam disappears inside to find the other members of New Directions competing that morning. Finn sticks with Kurt and Adam, making small talk until former New Directions members start showing up. There are shrieks and hugs and squeals and Kurt has missed them all so much, he'd had no idea until then. He introduces Adam around and everyone's perfectly nice, maybe giving Adam a little third degree (where's he from; what's he doing in New York). Kurt can feel a tension running through them because somewhere in the building is Blaine and Kurt knows that he and Adam will come face to face with him at some point.

Finn eventually heads backstage to join Mr. Schue in corralling the others. The rest of them slowly make their way to find seats, arranging themselves and continuing their conversations. Kurt's not sure how it happens, but he ends up in the aisle seat, Adam right next to him. Rachel's on Adam's other side, so at least Adam has a buffer from the overwhelming, but well-intentioned former members of New Directions.

Kurt knows he's been quiet all morning, but Adam hasn't said anything about it. He just keeps giving Kurt these small smiles, like the one on his face right now. Kurt returns it slowly, as he has every time he sees one, and this time Adam reaches for his hand. He jumps a little, startled.

He tells Adam that they shouldn't – it's Ohio and McKinley - and even though things are better now, being gay is still not that widely accepted. Adam nods and Kurt feels bad because mostly he just didn't think he could handle it if Blaine saw.

The competition starts and Kurt notices with a snort that the Unitards are back with Harmony once again leading in a fierce number. He leans over Adam to tap Rachel and whispers, "Oh, my God, it's the Gerber baby."

Rachel dissolves into quiet laughter, hand over her mouth, shoulders shaking. It's easy not to be intimidated by Harmony now that they've made it to New York and NYADA.

An all girls' choir goes up next, but they're not even a flicker on Kurt's radar – this is pretty much going to come down to either New Directions or the Unitards, and as long as New Directions doesn't screw it up they should win. Kurt takes a deep breath when the girl group leaves the stage and New Directions is called out.

He glances at the program he's been handed, seeing that Blaine is down for a solo but it's not a love song, thank goodness.

Marley (the girl, Rachel reminds him, who'd fainted at Sectionals) and Jake (whom Kurt is shocked to find out is Puck's younger brother) are doing a love song, so it seems, but it's okay. Kurt can handle this. He just needs to get through this trip, get back to New York and everything will be okay.

The lights go out and fog fills the stage. New Directions files on in boy/girl pairs. Kurt is pleased to see Unique is in full force, paired up with one of the newer boys Kurt doesn't know. His mouth goes dry then, because right behind them is Blaine, holding the hand of a blond girl he thinks might be Kitty, Sue's protege.

His stiffened posture tips Adam off, because Adam's eyes are searching the stage intently. Kurt knows he's looking to see if he can figure out which one of them is Blaine.

Marley and Jake move to the front and stand across the stage from each other, the others behind them getting into position, as if they're about to launch into a ballroom dance. Marley starts to sing, the lyrics to P!nk's "Just A Reason" echoing through the auditorium. The coupled up members of New Directions start dancing behind them exactly as Kurt thought they would. It's simplistic and raw, and there is a lot of emotion happening on the stage. If he hadn't already known that Marley and Jake were dating (thanks to Tina) he'd definitely be able to tell now. Jake joins in and they sing while the others dance behind them, moving fluidly as a group and they are amazing and Kurt can't hardly believe his eyes. It had taken him and Rachel and the original New Directions years to get this good.

Jake and Marley meet in the middle and finally join in the dance on the last verse of the song and it draws to a close, met with thunderous applause. Blaine's up next, and Kurt knows there's no way he'll screw this up. New Directions has so got this in the bag.

The stage goes dark, and then one spotlight comes on. Blaine's on the stage by himself and Kurt can't keep from inhaling loudly. He knows Adam can hear it in the darkness, and he knows that Adam is staring at Blaine and sizing up his competition. He grips the aisle armrest tightly, hoping that he can get through this without losing it – aside from Christmas, he hasn't heard Blaine sing since that fateful night at Callbacks.

He expects Blaine to open his mouth and start singing "Carry On" by fun., but that's not what happens.
Blaine opens mouth and he does start singing, but the words that leave his lips shock Kurt to his core.

"Never knew... I could feel like this," he begins. Kurt's hand raises up and covers his mouth because this can't actually be happening. "It's like I've never seen the sky before. Want to vanish inside your kiss, every day I'm loving you more and more."

The music grows slowly as Blaine continues. "Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing? Come back to me and forgive everything!"

Kurt can't breathe. There are tears in his eyes, and his heart is beating so fast. Adam is staring at him, obviously wondering what he'll do and Kurt can't handle this – this cannot be happening.

"Seasons may change, winter to spring," Blaine keeps going, though he sounds near tears. "But I love you... until of time."

Kurt knows this movie. He knows what part of the movie this is from. He knows what's supposed to happen next and there is silence. No one else joins in. Blaine is standing there, waiting for someone.

Waiting for him.

Kurt doesn't know how he knows that, but he does.

He's out of his chair and standing in the aisle before he's even realized what he's doing. "Come what may," he sings, and Blaine's face is worth everything in that moment. He keeps singing the line, over the murmuring the crowd who have no idea what's going on. He heads for the stage, his gaze locked with Blaine's as he climbs the stairs up and then finally, finally, Blaine is within reach.

"I will love you, until my dying day." They finished the song together, singing in harmony. The curtains close on them, amidst applause and cheers from the crowd on the other side.

Kurt has no idea what happens now. He has no idea what he's going to tell Adam. What he does know is that Blaine is here in front of him.

"Kurt," Blaine breathes out, tear tracks on his face as he stares at Kurt with wide eyes.

"Shhh," Kurt says quietly, and then they're kissing. Kurt never knew that one kiss could say so much. It says "I love you," and "I'm sorry," and most importantly, "I forgive you."

Kurt's done fighting himself. He's done with hiding, done with running away. He's ready to face his feelings head on now.

Blaine's joyful laugh fills his ears as they separate and Kurt can't believe for one second that he'd deluded himself into thinking they could be just friends. Blaine's words from Valentine's Day echo in his head and he realizes how foolish he's been.

"I love you," Blaine whispers. Kurt smiles, tears spilling from his eyes.

"Until the end of time," Kurt promises.
