Author's Notes: It's unbetaed it's off my head. It probably sucks. But it's the first thing I have felt like writing in days so I went with it. I haven't given up on You're the Only One, for anyone reading that. I just have major block at the moment. Title is from the Beatles song of the same name.
Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da

The funniest things make Blaine realize what a fool he's been. Today it's an old Beatles tune he hears in the car on the way to McKinley. It's supposed to be fun; and usually Blaine would find it fun and upbeat. But today it just reminds him of everything he's thrown away. It is also not lost on Blaine that it comes from the same album as Blackbird. The song that started it all for him and Kurt. The song that woke him up.

He finds himself humming it all through school. Doing what he usually does; imagining that it is him and Kurt that Paul McCartney is singing about. Which is why when he gets to lunch he asks Jacob Ben Israel to loan him a camera. He also asks Tina to upload something for him after glee and send it to Kurt. She readily agrees, saying she hates to see him so unhappy.

Mr. Shue is more than willing to allow Blaine the floor. Tina takes one side as his backup singer. Sugar the other. Jake more than willingly mans the camera. He even makes Blaine explain to Kurt why he's sending this. And so he does. He pours his heart and soul out for a good fifteen minutes. By the end of it he's not sure he can sing he's so emotional. But then the music starts and he loses himself in the song of true love. Of true love. Which is what he now realizes he and Kurt are. He's pretty sure he's always known it, but this, today singing this one song for Kurt, made him realize it all the more.

Tina uploads the video and Blaine goes home. He does his homework and has dinner with his parents, who are for once home to have dinner with. Then he goes up to his room and waits. And he waits. His fingers tiwitch to call Kurt. To ask him if he's bothered to watch it. But he doesn't want to seem pushy. So he makes busy work for himself. He cleans out his sock drawer. He re-alphabetizes his cds. He listens to the song the whole time. He's about to start it again when there's a knock at his bedroom door.

He expects it to be his mother. He is both shocked and overjoyed when the person on the othrside throws themselves at him. He just holds on for dear life. Finally the person pulls away and takes his face in both hands before kissing him soundly.

“I want all that too you know. With you. I don't want it with anyone but you.”

“I'm sorry. I'm sorry.” Blaine says sobbing to the point Kurt can barely understand him.

“Ssh. Just a little bump in the road. We're fine. We're going to be fine. My silly silly goregous boy.”

“I just... I thought... I was trying... I....”

“Ssh. Come on, you look about as tired as I feel. And Isabelle could only give me a day to come home. I'm sorry it's not longer.”

“You're here. That's all that matters. You still want to be here.” Blaine said breaking down once more.

“Of course I do. Always. Now come here. Ssh. Oh Blaine no... ssh... honey. It's all right I'm right here.”

“I just... I thought I'd lost you. I couldn't even make it a week. I wanted to be all noble and let you go and I couldn't even last a week.”

Kurt says nothing. He just goes over to the cd player and pushes play starting it back on repeat. He holds Blaine while he cries himself to sleep before singing the song to Blaine once it's gone through.

“ob la di ob la da, Blaine, that's all it is. We're meant to be.”

{End}
