Blaine was at work today and Kurt had finished everything that he had planned for his day. He was bored. He was just about to take their dog Noelle for a long walk around the park when he heard a knock at the door, there at the door was their neighbor, Claire and her baby. Her little baby Lily was the cutest baby (besides the pictures of Blaine) that he had ever seen. She was so beautiful.
“Hi Claire, is everything okay?” Kurt asked, smiling at the tiny baby.
“I’m so sorry to ask this but I have to go into work. It was supposed to be my day off but they need me in urgently and Lily’s dad is working so I was hoping that maybe you could look after her until I finish.” Claire’s eyes were desperate and Lily’s eyes were so big and blue.
“Yeah okay, is there anything i need to know?”
“Her feeding time is at twelve and her next one is at two, in this bag is everything she needs. Her diapers, her pacifier, toys and a couple of change of clothes. Oh and if she needs bathing then i’m okay with that and there is diaper rash cream in there too. She loves a walk in the park, if she doesn’t calm down then do that. I know you pick up Blaine later so here is her car seat.”
Kurt’s jaw dropped as Claire gave Lily to him before wheeling in the pushchair with a car seat in it as well as a couple of bags of things. This he didn’t expect. He held Lily in his arms and she just smiled at him with her gummy smile, she looked about the teething age and knew that he was in for a rough day. He smiled at her and held the hand that was trying to pull on his hair.
“Right, this is everything. Oh and you might have noticed that she’s teething so she might be in a bad mood. Thank you so much Kurt!” Claire kissed her baby’s head before kissing Kurt’s cheek and disappeared.
Kurt looked at the little girl and sighed, he kicked the door shut and took the baby into the living room. He sat down on the couch and looked at the baby, he had no clue what to do with her.
“It’s just you and me now, Lily.” He said as he held her up and looked at her. “No mommy and no Blaine to help me. I can’t even call him. So you be nice to me and we’ll get on fine.”
The little girl giggled and kicked her legs and waved her arms which Kurt couldn’t deny was the cutest thing. He smiled and kissed her cheek, holding her close as he went to get her stuff from by the door. He put the baby in the car seat so he could move her stuff into the living room. He carried the baby in the car seat to the couch where he sat down and started going through the baby bag, pulling out the bottles and taking them to the kitchen. He put the baby in the car seat because he knew that babies could easily get hurt and fall over. Once everything was in their right place, Kurt went back to the baby and let her out of the seat, putting her don on the floor. She started crawling around and then rolled onto her back, kicking her feet and giggling, she was having so much fun it seemed.

Kurt sat on the floor and took some of the baby toys, he held them out to Lily who grabbed onto one and tried to take it from him but Kurt wouldn’t let go. Lily giggled and tugged harder, so Kurt made out that she was stronger and let go.
“Look what you did! You’re so strong!” Kurt grinned.
Lily sat and shook the toy in her hand, mesmerized by the bells on it. She stuck the toy in her mouth and drooled all over it. She seemed to be enjoying it until she started hitting herself in the head with it, but Kurt quickly stopped her. She was so cute until she started crying. Kurt looked at the clock and saw it was twelve. He picked up the little girl and took her to the kitchen. He got a bottle, while holding the baby in his other arm. He had no idea what temperature to do the bottle at so he grabbed his phone.
“Hey kiddo!” Burt called down the phone.
“Hey dad. I have a question about babies, I’m looking after a neighbors kid and she’s about four months. She needs feeding but I don’t know how to do the milk.”
“You’re babysitting?!” Burt gasped in shock, this made Kurt roll his eyes. “Okay, you need to heat the milk up so it’s tepid, not hot, not cold but not to warm. Don’t forget to wind her when she’s done.”
“Okay dad, thanks. She’s crying and she won’t stop so I can’t hang around, I need to heat up this milk. Thanks dad, I’ll call you later, love you, bye!” Kurt hung up and started heating up the milk. He had to put the baby down so he could test it, it was a little too hot so he put it down for a couple of minutes. He knelt down and made soothing sounds to Lily but it wasn’t working, she just kept crying. Once the milk had cooled down, he picked up Lily and took her to the couch along with the milk. He started feeding her and she calmed down, he was so grateful for this and embraced the silence.
Once she had drunk some of the milk, Kurt grabbed a cloth from the collection of her stuff from next to him on the couch. He put it on his shoulder and began winding her. That took a fair few minutes. But she was quiet so Kurt was happy, she also had milk all around her mouth so Kurt had to clean her. He put her down and watched her roll around the floor, grabbing her toys and looking at Kurt with her toothless smile. Kurt melted and got down on the floor and played with her. He tickled her and rubbed her tummy, not expecting what happened next, which was sick all down his designer clothes. He gasped and was about to shout before realizing that this was only a baby. He stood up and looked at his clothes, knowing that they had been ruined because of baby sick. He took a deep breath and went to the baby stuff, picking out an adorable pink shirt with a denim dress that had a pretty pink flower stitched on it.

He took the clothes and the baby to the bathroom so she could get washed, there was no baby wash stuff so Kurt had to use his own. The baby was going to smell like apple (thanks to Blaine’s great love of apples). Kurt ran the bath so it was a suitable temperature for a baby and the good depth before undressing the baby. He cringed at the naked baby, the first time he had actually seen a fully naked girl. Thank god he was gay. He lowered the baby into the bath and held her up with one hand while washing her with the other. He reached over and grabbed the wash stuff, squirting it onto his hand and rubbing it on the baby, being very careful. When the baby was all washed and dried, Kurt held her and was about to put some clothes on her when he felt something wet down him. He put the baby down when the wetness stopped and cringed. She had peed on him. First the sick was down his shirt and now the pee was down both his shirt and pants!
Oh god! He was going to need a raincoat when he and Blaine had their children, no child was going to do this over him again. He dressed the baby and put her down on the floor with her toys so he could get dressed. He put on the worst clothes he had before reentering the living room to see Noelle sniffing at Lily. He was worried because Noelle had never been around a baby before, he had no idea how she was going to react but then along came the kitten, Amber. Both of the animals seemed to love Lily, tiny little Amber curled herself up against the baby while Lily poked Noelle in the nose. Kurt walked over and sat down, pulling the baby into his lap and playing with her arms. He held her arms and reached them out, gently showing her how to stroke the dog. Noelle was so happy at the attention that she rolled over and asked for her belly to be stroked.

It wasn’t long before Lily started crying, well screaming. Kurt held her and rocked her gently and trying to calm her. He gave her the pacifier but she still kept crying so Kurt decided that it was time for a walk. He got the pushchair and got the little girl ready, putting her in and strapping her securely. He got a bag ready and put the leash on Noelle and tied her to the pushchair so she could come too. Once they were sorted, Kurt led them all out of the house and went for a walk in the park. Claire was right, the walk calmed Lily down straight away and when they got to the pond, they could see ducks. Kurt took Lily out of the pushchair and sat down on the grass by the pond. He held Lily tight and got out some bread from the bag. He broke a little off and put it in Lily’s hand, holding her arm and showing her how to throw the bread into the water for the ducks. He did some himself and very soon the bread was gone and the ducks were swimming away. Lily pointed at the ducks and looked at Kurt sadly.
“It’s okay sweetie. It’s time to go home and take a nap for them, they’ll be back soon. Let’s go walk some more and then go home for a nap ourselves.” Kurt kissed Lily’s cheek before putting her in the pushchair and took her and Noelle home.
When they got home, Kurt could tell how sleepy the little girl was so he put her in the car seat and took the car seat to the bedroom. He put her in there so she couldn’t get disturbed. He came out of the room and started putting some of the things away and cleaned up. He fed Noelle and gave her and Amber some fresh water before getting a sandwich for himself. He was hungry and he earned it.
Lily slept for a couple of hours, it was now time to pick Blaine up so he carried Lily in the car seat to the car and put it in securely. He was so excited to see Blaine and tell him about his day. He drove there and saw Blaine leave the building, he lit up and his stomach exploded with butterflies and his heart raced. He was so excited to tell Blaine that he so wanted to have a family with him.
Later, when Lily was home, Kurt was sat on the couch while reading a magazine when he saw something stuck in the pillow. He pulled the thing out and saw it was a little sock. He smiled to himself and held it in his hand, realizing that he really wanted to have children.
