Author's Notes: Based off the promt word: MODELS.
Kurt Hummel looked in the mirror as he adjusted the hat on his head. He saw his partner Blaine Anderson in the reflection as he stepped into the room. Kurt smiled a little bit to himself as he watched Blaine button up his red vest. Kurt wasn't going to lie. He was very much in love with Blaine. Blaine was beautiful inside and out. He made Kurt laugh. He kept Kurt company when he was feeling lonely or missing his friends and family back home. Kurt had been in New York City for two years working as a model with Blaine but New York was still new to him. Kurt was happy to have a friend like Blaine, though.

Kurt knew Blaine's feelings were much different that his. There was just no way that a guy like Blaine was as in love with Kurt as he was with Blaine. Kurt let that get him down though. He loved Blaine enough to just be his friend. Kurt wanted to keep Blaine in his life no matter what.

He caught Blaine's eye in the mirror and smiled at him a little bit. Blaine smiled back weakly. He looked tired and a little bit sick. Now that Kurt thought about it, he'd noticed that he looked that way more often than not lately.

"Are you feeling okay?" Kurt asked him as Blaine sauntered up to the mirror straightening out his outfit.

Blaine seemed to pause before he said anything but he looked at him, "Yeah. I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

Kurt turned to him and helped him straighten his jacket, "You just seem tired and a little under the weather is all."

"Well I did stay up pretty late last night," he said looking at himself in the mirror as Kurt brushed some dust of his shoulders. Kurt could tell by the look in Blaine's eyes that his heart was not in modeling. Kurt could level with that. He was simply doing this so his name was in the fashion business. He had big dreams of becoming a designer or maybe a fashion magazine editor. But with Blaine, it was not even that. Blaine's dreams didn't lie in the fashion field at all. Not everyone saw what Kurt saw in Blaine when he showed a little less enthusiasm than the other models.

Blaine always seemed to shine the most when he sang or play his guitar. He looked genuinely happy and Kurt could tell by the way his eyes literally sparkled at the end of every song he played. He was happier playing and singing in coffee houses or on the corner of a street in New York that he was participating in a photo shoot or in a show.

Kurt never understood Blaine's motive behind the modeling but he never questioned it.

Blaine stepped back from Kurt, "What do you think?" He was sporting a three piece suit that was all red aside from the under shirt.

"You look great," Kurt said, "Red is definitely your color." Blaine smiled.

"Thank you," he said making his way to the photo shoot room. Kurt sighed. He really did look quite amazing today.

During the shoot, Kurt and Blaine took turns posing for the camera and a few times they were asked to pose together. Blaine every now and then caught Kurt glancing his way. Did he notice something? Blaine hoped that his clothes didn't cling to his body very much.

Blaine would be the last to admit it but he had pretty strong feelings for Kurt. He wished he wasn't too afraid to act on them but he had a job to do. Modeling wasn't the ideal job for Blaine but it was only way to get his father to be less ashamed of him. To get him noticed.

His father had been less than loving towards him since he'd come out to his family when he was 16 years old. He didn't physically abuse him but he ignored him. He never spoke to him unless it was necessary and never told him he loved him. It broke Blaine's heart and he'd do anything to get that love back.

To do all that Blaine had to be perfect.

Blaine wished he looked more like Kurt. Kurt was the most beautiful boy he'd ever seen. He was tall and skinny. His eyes were the prettiest shade of blue Blaine had ever seen and Blaine had to stop himself from running his hands through his hair sometimes.

Blaine's stomach made a loud grumbling noise. He commanded it to shut up in his mind as he fell into his next pose. Blaine hated how much his stomach bothered him. He didn't want to eat. He wanted to be perfect.

Being hungry was a good thing.

It meant strong.

Right?

Sick was something Blaine was supposed to feel?

Right?

His train of thought derailed when he hit the ground.

Kurt rushed to Blaine's side and grabbed his shoulders only pausing for a split second to notice how frail they felt. He lightly shook his friend as tears flooded down his face.

"Blaine," he sobbed, "Please wake up." It took a few moments before Blaine resurfaced from his subconscious. Kurt sighed in relief.

"What happened?" Blaine asked rubbing the back of his head.

"You passed out," Kurt said, "Blaine. Please tell me what's wrong." Kurt had been suspecting something for a while but he never would have guessed the problem would be enough for Blaine to completely pass out.

Blaine froze before he stood up and said, "Nothing." He ran off to his dressing room stripping his vest and jacket in the process. When he finally reached the mirror he was crying and pulling off his undershirt.

Blaine was extremely thin. His ribs and hip bones protruded so far out that he looked like a skeleton with a layer of skin. This was not what Blaine saw. All he saw was ugly, ugly, ugly.

He hated that his stomach folded over his pants when he sat down. He hated everything about the way he looked from his horrible complexion to his unruly black hair that took a gallon of gel to hold down.

He jumped when he say Kurt staring wide eyed at him in the mirror. He scrambled for a towel and held it up to his chest and said nothing.

"Blaine…" Kurt whispered, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Blaine turned away from Kurt so he wouldn't see him cry, "I didn't want you to see me like this. Not at least until I'm perfect…"

"What could make you possibly think that?" Kurt asked picking up a hooded sweat shirt from the floor, wrapping it around Blaine's frail body, and holding him while he cried on the floor.

"I need to be perfect so my father will love me," Blaine sobbed into the crook of Kurt's neck. For the next hour or so Kurt coaxed Blaine's story out of him. It took a lot of Kurt's willpower not to cry. He needed to be strong for Blaine.

"I don't understand what I did," Blaine said after he'd calmed down a little bit. He still had a steady flow of tears.

"You didn't do anything," Kurt said stroking Blaine's hair, "Your father is clearly a horrible man. I don't like seeing you work so hard to try to impress a man who is unwilling to love his own son."

"Then who is going to love me?"

"I love you, Blaine."

Kurt didn't think about what he'd said until after he said it. The next thing he knew Blaine was upright and staring in his eyes, "What?"

"I love you, Blaine," Kurt said, "And it's killing me inside to see you like this."

"Because I'm not perfect…" Blaine's voice was thick with melancholy.

"No no no," Kurt said letting his tears flow, "I miss the old you. I miss the boy I met when I came to New York. The boy I fell in love with. Blaine this isn't healthy."

"But I…"

"Blaine what do you picture yourself doing? Your father's expectations aside."

Blaine thought about it. He'd never been happy with the modeling life. He loved signing for people in coffee shops. He loved play his guitar and writing songs.

"Music," Blaine replied truthfully.

"Then go for it," Kurt holding Blaine's face in his hands, "What's stopping you?" Blaine smiled through his tears and leaned forward to kiss Kurt.

"I forgot to tell you that I love you too," he said after he pulled away.

"Please tell me you're going to get help," Kurt begged, "I can't bear to watch you wither away like this…"

"Will you help me?"

"Every step of the way," Kurt said standing and helping Blaine up, "Come on. Let's get you home for now."

Kurt helped Blaine changed into other clothing and they left the studio together. Things we're going to be okay for a long time but both boys had hope.
