Petty Differences
Summary: Kurt comes home, where Blaine is not-so-patiently waiting for him and to hear the results. Alternative Summary: Because sometimes you just need the one person who understands you on the worst day of your life. Spoilers/Warnings: SPOILERS: Graduation Day (Season 3 Finale) WARNINGS: Pouty Kurt. Pure, unadulterated fluff. No more joy than in the show because that's all my stupid muse would give me (probably stunted by the lack of show goodies).

Blaine jumped up to greet Kurt with a smile when he heard him open the door. "Hey, Kurt!" Then, he noticed Kurt's red eyes and crestfallen expression. He hurried to meet him and took his shoulders gently, searching his eyes. "Kurt, what's wrong?"
Kurt looked at him. "What's wrong?" Kurt said, his voice still thick with the tears he'd shed and the new ones forming. "What do you think is wrong, Blaine? I didn't get in." He moved to flop onto the nearby couch, folding his arms across his scrunched torso. "Finn didn't get into the Actor's Studio, either."
Blaine was almost afraid to ask. "What about Rachel?"
"Oh, you mean the one who choked on her audition? The one who got told her audition was over, as opposed to me, the one who got high praise?" He curled up even further into himself. "What do you think? Ms. Berry gets all the solos, all the--"
Blaine sat down next to him and put a soothing hand on his knee. "She got in."
"Yes. She got in."
"Your friend got in." Blaine reminded him. "Our friend got in."
Kurt gave him a sidelong glare. "I'm sorry, Blaine, but you're going to have to let me be petty for at least a day on this one."
Blaine smiled and patted Kurt's knee before lying into the back cushions with him and snuggling up against him. "Okay, but just this once."

I like that this wasn't a huge attack on rachel like. Let reaction fics. It had just the right amount of upset, but it also stayed true to Kurt's character, which is an incredibly forgiving one. Love it!
Thank you very much! I try very hard to keep all my fic in character when I'm writing in the fandom's universe. I think it's really bad when people write characters OOC just because they don't like them. I had that issue with one of my favorite characters in the Buffyverse. I only knew about three other writers who liked him. All other authors either wrote him like a whiny heavy-maintenance boyfriend or a homicidal maniac.Rachel (especially Finchel) isn't my favorite character on the show, but I'm not going to have Kurt bash her. For one thing, he'd never do that behind her back; for another thing, deep down inside he's happy for her. He's just angry/frustrated with the situation at this point. That's how I saw it, anyway.
Thanks! Yeah, I'm not mad at Rachel. I'm not even particularly mad at the writers per se. I just think their choice(s) didn't make sense...unless their "exciting" plans for S3 are to do something like have Kurt be the new director of the glee club to create lots of conflict with friends and Blaine alike. Though, I don't know that I'd like the potential disaster that would hold for Klaine. Thanks again for the review!
