A fluffy klaine fic under a sheet fort. Warning: pillow fight.
“Do you miss Dalton, Blaine?” Kurt gazed up at the light filtering through the sheet suspended over their heads, as the question hung in the air. He heard Blaine shift on his pile of cushions. Kurt felt a surge of guilt. “I’m sorry, Blaine, it’s fine if you do, it’s just like how I missed McKinley when I first left.” He bit his lip, worried that he had made his boyfriend uncomfortable.
Blaine’s velvety voice broke the awkward silence. “I’ve been at Dalton for so long, it just takes some getting used to, not being there. It’s not better, or worse, just...different. And I do like living here. It’s nice to have a break from my dad.” Kurt heard Blaine sigh, and rolled over to see him lying with his hands clasped behind his head, gazing up at the sheets hanging over them. Another minute of silence broken only by their breathing, before Blaine suddenly said, “Kurt?”
Kurt turned his head to look at him. “Yes, Blaine?”
“How did you get so good at building sheet forts?” Kurt laughed, and sat up. Blaine watched him, and felt the sound deep within him, and he listened to it as though it were the sweetest kind of music. Kurt’s eyes sparkled in soft light, and Blaine couldn’t find the courage to tear his own eyes from them. Kurt realised he was staring, and blushed, his glowing skin cream and roses. “Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are, Kurt?” Blaine asked, awestruck as the light from above the sheets encircled his lover’s head in a dimly shining halo of light. Kurt blushed even deeper.
“Only you,” he replied teasingly, stretching, his fingers brushing lightly against the sheet above their heads. He pushed his pillows closer to Blaine’s, and lay down on them, his head resting on Blaine’s warm chest, right over his gently beating heart, feeling his heat radiate through his body. Kurt brought a hand onto Blaine’s chest, next to his head, and heard the boy’s heart flutter, before falling into its regular, soothing rhythm.
They stayed there for a while, Blaine intertwining his fingers into Kurt’s hair, playing with it, as Kurt softly smiled to himself.
“Blaine?” Kurt’s voice came out barely above a whisper, as it broke the silence.
“Mmhmm?”
“I love you.” Kurt could almost hear Blaine smiling.
“I love you, too, Kurt, which is why I am so very, very sorry.”
Slowly, Kurt sat up, frowning slightly. “What do you mean, Blai-?”
WHUMP.
A pillow hit him square in the nose, and he heard Blaine laugh. “Blaine!” he shrieked, reaching for a pillow of his own. Blaine dodged his poorly-aimed attack and retaliated by whacking Kurt in the chest with another pillow. Kurt gasped in surprised, before throwing the pillow back at Blaine, who, this time, forgot to dodge and fell over laughing.
With a devilish glint in his eyes, Blaine lunged at Kurt, and tackled him to the ground. His eyes locked with those of the laughing boy beneath him, and all time froze, just for a second. Vaguely, Blaine felt gentle fingers brushing a flyaway curl off his slightly flushed face.
The same hands pushing him away brought him back into reality, where he found himself kneeling up, face to face with Kurt. Breathless, bodies almost touching, and the air sparkling with electricity, the hazel eyes locked once more with the cool blue ones which danced and twinkled in the light.
Blaine closed the space between their lips for just a moment, before pulling back, wearing a silly grin on his face, eyes sparkling, cheeks flushed. Kurt smiled at him teasingly, kissing Blaine back almost as soon as he’d pulled away, and Blaine responded, pressing his body against Kurt’s, and feeling how they fitted together perfectly, as though they were created for each other. A hand slid into his hair and knotted into the messy curls as the world dissolved around them into a spinning mass of blurred lights and colours, and was consumed by their passionate embrace. Blaine’s hand found the small of Kurt’s back as he pulled Kurt closer to him, pressing their bodies together as their lips pressed together and gasped open, and fireworks exploded around them.
Blaine shivered as Kurt gently traced the shape of his lips with his tongue, and his fingers grasped and intertwined into his curls, before Kurt gently pulled away, and Blaine followed his gaze to the white feather that Kurt had pulled out from his hair.
The hazel eyes met the blue, and both started laughing. Blaine kissed Kurt playfully, and they laughed again, before the world collapsed around them, smothering them.
“Kurt?” Blaine said in a muffled voice from beneath the fallen sheet fort. “I take back what I said before. About the sheet forts.”
He heard Kurt’s slightly muffled laugh, and tried to free himself from the sheets, only to entangle himself further. A flicker of movement made him turn his head, and he saw Kurt lying next to him, also struggling to remove the sheets. Blaine wriggled himself over to Kurt, who he softly kissed, before laughing again as another layer of sheets fell on top of them.
