Rachel Anderberry knows that there's obviously something going on between her brother & her best friend, and attempts to stop things before anyone gets hurt. However, things may not be as chaotic as she expected.
Author's Notes: This is a fic based on all of the Anderberry (aka Blaine and Rachel as siblings) stuff running around on Tumblr. In the story, Rachel & Kurt are seniors & Blaine is a junior, just like it is on the show; Blaine is Rachel's little brother.
Rachel Anderberry liked to consider herself a very bright girl when it came to love, especially with all of her experience in the matter. After all, she'd dated quite a few boys before settling with her current (not to mention on-and-off) boyfriend, Finn Hudson, thus providing her with enough insight on love to help others in need of guidance. So it came of no shock to anyone that she often stuck her two-cents in her younger brother, Blaine's, love life whenever possible.
This was especially the case when she began to notice that he'd taken a fancy of her best friend, Kurt Hummel.
As a matter of fact, the two had gotten much closer ever since they first met at Dalton Academy upon Kurt's transfer to the all-boys private school. She didn't realize how close they'd gotten until they both transferred back to McKinley and joined the glee club, where she was in a position to constantly watch over them. Sometimes she would catch them glancing at each other with a faint smile and blush, or even see them brushing by each other with playful laughs and staged apologies. It was beyond obvious something was going on, and frankly, it surprised her that no one was clever enough to see what she saw.
Either way, the growing relationship between her brother and best friend was unacceptable, and it was her mission to put a stop to it.

Rachel decided that the best place to start would be with Blaine, since she assumed it would be easy to persuade him from getting too involved with Kurt. She had a feeling, however, that he was too far gone at this point to even consider ignoring whatever feelings he had for Kurt, but she still needed to try to put the impending relationship to a stop while she had the chance. She found the perfect time for such an intervention one morning when both she and Blaine were using the vanity in her room to doll themselves up for school.
"Have you spoken with Kurt recently?" She asked offhandedly while rummaging through her make-up bag, trying to act as casual as possible. She looked into the mirror curiously and saw Blaine stiffen for a brief moment, an obvious sign that he was trying to figure out how to answer her question.
"Not exactly," he replied cautiously. "Why do you ask?"
"Oh, just curious," she lied with a reassuring smile. "I mean, you two have gotten pretty close and usually call each other on a daily basis. Almost like a couple, actually."
"We're just friends," Blaine mused with a simple shrug. "I mean, we do call each other a lot, but it's as friends."
Rachel, despite her better judgment, quickly blurted out, "It sure doesn't seem like it."
She took notice of how Blaine froze in place, eyes going wide in surprise. Rachel kept her head held high confidently in hopes that the curly-haired boy would cave in from being discovered.
"Are you trying to insinuate that Kurt and I are romantically involved?" Blaine questioned with narrowed eyes, only to get a guilty shrug from his sister in return. "I can't believe you, Rach – I told you to stop getting involved in my love life!"
"Well what do you expect me to do?" Rachel sighed frustratedly. "You've spent so much time with Kurt lately, and I can't help but jump to conclusions. You know how I get!"
Blaine merely shook his head in exasperation and began to hastily clean up his section of the vanity, desperate to escape the questions his sister would no doubt pummel him with. Rachel quickly took Blaine's hand tightly in hers, giving him a sad smile through the mirror.
"I'm just worried about you, Blaine," she explained gently. "As your big sister, I only want what's best for you." He still seemed unfazed by her little speech, so she pressed further, "Look, Kurt's leaving for New York soon, and I don't want you falling in love with him-"
"Well, what if it's too late for that? What if I've already fallen for him?" Blaine snapped bitterly, yanking his hand free from Rachel's grip. She looked at him in shock from what he'd said, the atmosphere in the room suddenly becoming tense.
Blaine, trying to ignore the lump in his throat, feebly grabbed his bag from the side of the vanity and practically yanked the bedroom door open. "I-I'll see you at school."
He slammed the door shut as he left, leaving Rachel to wonder how she could possibly keep her brother from falling any harder.

"Whatever is going on between you and my brother needs to stop."
Kurt gently shut his locker with an exasperated sigh, looking down at a fuming Rachel. "What on earth are you babbling on about this time?"
"Look, we both know that we're a shoe-in to get accepted into NYADA," Rachel began, "and we'll be leaving our friends and family here while we go off to chase our dreams-"
"Please get to the point. I have a class to get to," he cut in and briskly took off to his class with Rachel right at his heels.
"My point is that whatever you've got going on with Blaine needs to end before you're both left heartbroken upon our departure," she hissed, trying her best to speak while rushing after her best friend. "I don't want to see my little brother hurt!"
Kurt stopped dead in his tracks and Rachel came to a halt behind him, taking a few steps back in preparation for what his reaction would be to her words. He quickly spun around to face the brunette and she winced at the hurt evident in his eyes.
"You listen to me and you listen good, Rachel Berry," he said in a low, dangerous tone. "You and I are best friends, so you of all people should know that I wouldn't ever dream of hurting Blaine. He means more to me than you could ever imagine." He quickly turned back around and cast her a glance over his shoulder, "Besides, Blaine and I are best friends too, in case you've forgotten."
She watched Kurt storm off down the hall and called out feebly, "This can't possibly end well for either of you!"
Rachel wasn't quite sure Kurt heard her, so she could only hope that her words eventually got through to him.

The day had been quite tense for Rachel, to say the least. After her confrontations with Blaine and Kurt, both went out of their ways to avoid her and even refused to speak to her at all if their paths crossed. Not only that, but in all of the chaos, she'd forgotten her sheet music in the auditorium when she and Finn had been there practicing their glee club assignment earlier that day. With this new dilemma, her plan to bombard the two at their lockers was put on hold.
"Of all the times I forget something," she cursed as she rushed through the doors of the auditorium. Upon entering, however, she was greeted with the sight of Kurt and Blaine discussing something on the stage. She let out a squeak of shock and quickly threw herself into a seat before they noticed her.
"What happened between us was a mistake," Kurt said to Blaine as the curly-haired boy took hold of his hands. "Rachel's my best friend, and...and I can't do this to her."
"Do what? Date her brother?" Blaine scoffed as he wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist. "Don't give me that crap, Kurt. What happened between us meant something – I felt something when we kissed."
Rachel gasped, quickly covering her mouth to attempt to muffle the noise. She couldn't believe it; Kurt and Blaine were seeing each other in secret, if the current conversation was any indication. Clearly Kurt saw the error in this, from what she could tell, but her stubborn brother was intent on having a relationship with him despite the obvious consequences that could come from it.
"And," Blaine continued as he pulled Kurt closer, "I know you felt something too."
Blaine captured Kurt in a kiss, which the countertenor eagerly returned as he threw his arms around Blaine's neck. The two continued to kiss passionately and Rachel looked away with a roll of her eyes; how could they possibly be so blind as to disregard her advice?
Kurt broke away momentarily and murmured, "W-We shouldn't be doing this-"
"Why?" Blaine questioned as he locked gazes with the brunette. "You keep saying this, but then you end up kissing me again. Why is this bugging you so much?"
"It's just...what if Rachel's right?" Kurt sighed and clutched Blaine tightly. "I don't want us to have some nasty break-up and never speak to each other again when the time comes for me to go to New York. I'd never be able to live with myself if that happened."
"I know you probably believe whatever Rachel told you," Blaine replied with a shaky voice, which could only mean he was on the verge of tears, "but please, just give us a chance. I...I love you, and it'll hurt even more if you don't try to make our relationship work."
"Oh Blaine," Kurt choked out as he was overcome by tears as well. "I love you too – so, so much."
The two collided in a deep, sensual kiss and Rachel looked away once more, but this time, it was so she could give the two some privacy. She quietly slipped back to the doors and proceeded to open them, glancing back briefly to smile at her brother and best friend. The odds might have not been in their favor, but after seeing how much they truly did love each other, Rachel knew that they would find a way to pull through. Besides, maybe if she was lucky enough, she'd get Kurt as a brother-in-law; that was a pretty sweet deal as far as she was concerned.
