Goldfish have less than 20 seconds of memory.

It was something he knew for a fact, he just have constant memory lost. His parents told him that it was due to a car accident he had two years ago, he had loads of blood in his brain, and they had to perform a surgery to keep him alive.
But in return, it damaged him.
Blaine wasn't overly unhappy because of it, yeah it can be so frustrating sometimes, but it's not something he can't deal with. Even it was inconvenient.
He would be walking out of his flat to get something, then when he reached the grocery store he would completely forget what he needed to buy. He would be buying the same music sheets over and over again, and kept thinking he didn't have it. He would be forgetting his coursework and exam dates, but luckily, his medical situation was reported to the school and Julliard was happy to keep him as a student despite that.
But the worst thing is, he kept thinking he was forgetting something important, so very important.
Somedays, Blaine would find himself baking batches of cookies, even he didn't really want it. Somedays, he would find himself buying a packet of Juicy Fruits, even he never liked chewing gums. Somedays, he would find himself looking at McQueen or Marc Jacobs designs, even he never liked them.
It was some sort of hidden habit.
And he kept hearing an angelic voice, it was always a flash, he can never catch what the voice was saying, but he remembered a voice.
A singing voice, beautiful, clear, perfect.
It was so familiar, too familiar that it frightens him. And he always get a massive headache whenever the voice came up, as if to spilt his head apart and to retrieve those lost information. But almost immediately, he forgets about the occurrence. Sometimes, he'll manage to note it down in his notepad, he didn't know why, but he never told anyone.
Not even his best friend Wes.
Wes was the only person he remembered, other than his parents and Cooper. It appears that they were flatmates, even Wes goes to Columbia.
He told them their Dalton days, the Warbles especially, and all the details that Blaine didn't remember at all. He was glad that he could have someone that would stand by his side.
Wes sometimes stare at him whenever he thought Blaine wasn't paying attention, and he would look sad. He hope he knew why, but he never asked. It felt like opening Pandora's box.
So day by day, he went to lectures, did his coursework with the constant reminder by Wes and his tutor, practiced his piano and cello and violin and guitar, have dinner with Wes, call his parents. Nothing really happens to him. Until life decides to blow him away with a massive hurricane.
He found a small velvet box in the stuck drawer of his wardrobe.
It wasn't meant to be opened, because he found a lot of stuff that wasn't mentioned by his parents or Wes, and not in the photographs.
A stack of photograph, with him, and another boy. Beautiful boy, handsome man, he can hear the voice again, softly but merrily. Who is this? Why doesn't anyone told him about this boy at all?
As Blaine flicked through the photographs, speeding up every second, his headache grew as well. But he ignored it, he doesn't have time for that.
The ring, what about the ring? What was that about? Was he married? Was he engaged?
Before he knew it, he blacked out, and the pile of photographs shattered on the floor.
The sky was bright when he woke up in the hospital bed, he couldn't recall why he was there, but his parents only shushed him and kissed him on the forehead. So he went back to his routine.
