Author's Notes: Reaction ficlet to 'Dance With Somebody'. Mild spoilers. I was emotional okay and this just came pouring out.
They still walk as if on eggshells around each other for the rest of the day, but by the time 4 o’ clock rolls around, and Glee’s ended, things are relatively back to normal between the two of them.

Blaine’s busy putting his books back in his locker when Kurt skips up to him, beaming smile on his face. Blaine can’t help but smile back, even though he has no idea why Kurt’s so happy.

“So I was wondering if you wanted to come over tonight; we still have those DVDs to watch and Finn’s doing something with Puck.” Blaine’s about to nod when a thought suddenly occurs to him.

“I’d love to, but Kurt… It’s Friday. Don’t you have dinner with your dad tonight?” Blaine asks, shouldering his bag and turning to lean against the bank of lockers. Kurt’s smile just grows even wider.

“Actually, dad wanted you to come; he said it’s been ages since you’re been to our Friday dinners and…” He trails off, glancing almost shyly at the floor. “And I really want you to come, too; I hated fighting this week and I just wanted to spend some time with you.” Blaine’s heart leaps in his chest and he ducks his head to try and lock eyes with Kurt.

“Hey, hey. Look at me.” He says gently and Kurt slowly lifts his head, a watery smile on his face. Blaine strokes the backs of his fingers down Kurt’s cheek, smiling as Kurt’s eyelids flutter and he swallows heavily. He grips Blaine’s hand tightly and quickly leans in to kiss him, for once not caring that the hallway might not be totally empty.

The kiss tastes vaguely salty; both of them have tears running down their cheeks and it’s a little more desperate than how they usually kiss but Blaine; slanting his lips over Kurt’s, letting Kurt press him against the lockers, can feel happiness rising in his chest like a balloon and he can’t remember a time when he’s ever felt so loved.

Later, when they’re curled up together on Kurt’s bed, the tv playing quietly in the background, Blaine has his head on Kurt’s chest, tracing swirls onto the skin of his arm when Kurt speaks.

“I think we’ll be okay.” He cups the hand that’s been running through Blaine’s hair around his neck, stroking down the length of his neck and dipping beneath the collar of his top. Blaine hums in agreement, closing his eyes as Kurt kisses the top of his head and curls around him, reaching behind him for the remote to turn the tv off. It’s moments like this that both Blaine and Kurt will cherish the year they’re apart, during those long evenings spent listening to Rachel practice, or crying over chick flicks with Tina.

I waited forever to find you, Blaine thinks. I can wait another year.
End Notes: I will never be over this episode. It was everything I'd ever wanted for these two and then some.
