Author's Notes: There is character death in here, but it doesn't happen until the character is good and ready. Aka old and grey.
Kurt had a bunch of different ways to kiss Blaine, each of them precious to him.

There were ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ pecks, which were always shared before and after school. They may not be the most important type of kiss, but they held a special place in Blaine’s heart, because in a couple months he wasn’t going to be able to give nor receive them.

There were the types of kisses they shared when they said goodnight after a date, which tended to be longer and often cut off by Burt flicking the porch light on and off and then peeking out the window. When that happened, Blaine knew that the night truly was over, because once they had ignored him and it was both one of the most embarrassing and scary moments of Blaine’s life. Burt had opened the door and cleared his throat, and the two of them jumped apart blushing furious shades of red. Burt had simply stood aside and gestured Kurt into the house. Kurt gave him one last peck, said goodnight, and rushed into the house. Blaine awkwardly said goodnight to Burt and then basically ran to his car, though he smiled the whole way home.

Then there were bedroom kisses (or couch-when-nobody’s-home kisses), ones that had tongue and sometimes teeth. They made Blaine hot all over and arch up for more. They were kisses that lead to either great things or cold showers. They always saved those ones for private, unlike so many other teenagers.

Then there were the types of kisses that turned Blaine into a puddle of useless hormones, they were so feather-light that their lips barely touched, and they made Blaine chase his lips with every single peck. These ones left bats in Blaine’s stomach; they made him feel like he did when they had first started dating, all sweaty hands and fumbled words.

There are also kisses that they have yet to experience.
Like the one that unintentionally copies The Notebook, a month after they break up in Blaine’s senior year. Or the one on their wedding day, right after ‘I do.’ Or the one when they’re looking through the viewing window at their brand new baby.

Or the last one they ever share, when their old and grey, the day before Blaine dies of old age, or disease. And Kurt goes on to tell everybody the tale of high school sweethearts for the hundredth time, only in this last story, his high school sweetheart is no longer beside him, telling him to shut up because he’s watching the American Cinematheque Salute to JLo.
