”Put those back.”

“What? Why?”

“Because Good & Plenty is not an acceptable companion to buttery popcorn.”

“And Milk Duds are?”

“Yes. Here - get these if you don’t want chocolate.”

“….Jujubees stick to my teeth.”

“Do you want candy or not?”

Silence.

“Oh, come on, don’t pout at me over a $4 bag of candy. There are better things to do with that face of yours than stick your lower lip out at me.”

More pouting. Kurt sighed.

“Blaine, honestly, can’t you settle for something else? What about those Sour Patch Kids? You love them!”

“I got a stomach ache last time I had those….”

Kurt eyed him shrewdly. “You ate one of those enormous bags in one sitting, didn’t you?”

Blaine looked away, and Kurt rolled his eyes. “What about these?” he asked, pointing to one of the boxes.

“Oh my god, Haribo gummy bears. Kurt, get those for me, please???”

Kurt laughed. “Only if you share a few with me,” he said.

Blaine’s face fell. “But…there’s hardly any in these boxes…”

“And we can go get more at the grocery store after the movie if you like them so much. But I’m buying today, which means you have to share.”

Blaine pouted for a moment, then sighed heavily.

“Okay,” he said. His eyes lit up.

“This means I get some of your Milk Duds, right?” he asked eagerly.

Kurt rolled his eyes. “Of course you do. And half the popcorn - but don’t even think about asking for extra butter. Movie theater popcorn is unhealthy enough without adding that junk.” Blaine stuck out his lower lip a little. Kurt leaned in close. “Put that away before I start biting it,” he whispered. Blaine’s eyes grew huge, his mouth dropping open into a small O as Kurt took a place in line to order their snacks.

10 minutes later, the boys and their refreshments were seated in the theater, waiting for the previews to start. They happened to find a loveseat-style chair, and blaine dropped down onto it, tugging Kurt along with him. Once Kurt was seated, Blaine turned, resting his back against Kurt’s arm and draping his legs over the armrest. The week had been long and tiresome for both of them, and Kurt reached an arm across his chest to gently run his fingers through Blaine’s hair. Blaine sighed softly, relaxing into Kurt a little more.

When Kurt glanced down at him a few minutes into the movie, Blaine’s eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling gently as he slept. Kurt pressed a soft kiss to his hair before returning his attention to the movie.

“Blaine.”

“Mmm.”

“Blaine, wake up.”

“Don’ wan’ ‘o. ‘omfy.”

Kurt sighed. “I’ll tickle you if you don’t open your eyes,” he threatened.

Blaine mumbled unintelligibly, twisting in the seat and wrapping his arms around Kurt and burrowing his face is his shoulder.

Kurt sighed. "Don't say I didn't warn you..." he said, one hand trailing up and down Blaine's side.

Blaine squirmed beneath his hand, wriggling in the seat and smacking at Kurt's hand. "Wake up ~" Kurt sing-songed.

Blaine grumbled some more, grabbing Kurt's hand and holding it in his. " 'iss," he mumbled.

"What was that?" Kurt murmured.

"Kiss," Blaine said, opening his eyes a little.

Kurt rolled his eyes, leaning down to press a kiss to Blaine's nose. "Not there," Blaine grumbled.

"Can't reach anywhere else," Kurt replied.

Blaine grumbled some more, and Kurt shoved at his shoulders. "Sit up so I can kiss you properly."

Blaine sat up slowly, his feet dropping to the floor as he sat up a little, his eyes closed and his head still resting against Kurt's shoulder. "Kiss," he demanded petulantly.

Kurt leaned down, tilting Blaine's head toward his and kidding him softly. Blaine whined when Kurt pulled away, his hands reaching up to tug Kurt's face back to his.

"I am not making out with you in the theater, Blaine," Kurt said, gently removing Blaine's hands.

"Let's go home, then," Blaine mumbled, running his eyes and standing up.

"I thought you wanted to go get more gummy bears," Kurt replied, gathering their trash.

Blaine perked up a little. "Oh yeah! Can we get a huge bag? I'll share, I promise!"

Kurt rolled his eyes. "Of course we can. Now come on - it'll be getting dark soon and I want to be home before sunset."

------------

"But, Kurt, why did we have to be home before sunset?"

Blaine set his bags down on the table - they'd picked up far more at the store than they'd planned - and began tugging of his coat. "Kurt?" he called. "Babe, where'd you go?"

"Back here," Kurt's voice floated to him from the balcony.

Blaine draped his jacket over a chair and followed the sound of Kurt's voice. When he reached the balcony, he stepped out, resting his hands on the railing and inhaling deeply.

"Blaine." Kurt's soft voice startled him, and Blaine whirled around.

"Jesus, Kurt, you scared the life out of...." Blaine's voice trailed off as he glanced down at Kurt.

"Oh my god." Blaine's hands flew to his mouth. "Oh my god, Kurt, what are you-"

"Blaine Anderson. I promise to love you for every single day of forever." Kurt took a deep breath, closing his eyes and reaching into his pocket. "Will you marry me?" he whispered, opening the small box and holding it out to Blaine.

"Oh, Kurt..." Blaine felt tears well in his eyes, and he dropped to his knees. "Of course I will."

Kurt opened his eyes, smiling hugely as tears slowly made their way down his cheeks. He carefully removed the ring and slid it onto Blaine's finger.

Blaine dove at him, scooping Kurt up in his arms and dashing inside to toss him onto their bed. "I love you," he whispered, clinging tightly to him. "I love you so much."

Kurt hugged him back just as fiercely. "I love you, too," he whispered.

-------------

The next day when Kurt came home from work, Blaine was lying on the couch, a blanket wrapped tightly around him and his eyes squinched shut.

"Blaine, what on earth..." Kurt began, and then he saw the half-empty bag of gummy bears on the floor.

"Kurt, my tummy hurts," Blaine whined.

Kurt sighed. "Oh, Blaine..."
