Blaine surprises Kurt on their 5 year anniversary.
Author's Notes: Enjoy and thanks for reading!!
Blaine had been planning this day for weeks, months. This was it. Kurt and him were celebrating five years together and his impending graduation. The place had been rented out and family and friends would be there. Only the closest would be present. Burt, Carole, New Directions, Nick, Jeff, Wes, and David.
He got out of his car running inside. Traffic had held him up but the surprise wouldn't be ruined. It was a very simple get together but Kurt didn't know what it was.
“Hey guys!” Blaine said walking in. They smiled and said hi. He made his way over to the DJ. Thankfully, Burt had helped cover costs and even suggested the little party.
“Blaine...” he heard and turned around. There stood the most amazing man ever. Those lips, the hair, those eyes. All of it still amazed him. He smiled and went over to him and hugged him
“Happy five years baby,” he said. Kurt hugged him back tightly and kissed his neck lightly.
“Happy five years. I love you so much,” Kurt said.
“Okay! Kurt sit down!” Rachel said. Kurt looked confused as Rachel led him to a chair. He sat down looking at Blaine even more confused. He took the microphone and turned it on and watched as Quinn started the camera and gave him a thumbs up.
“Kurt...this is for you and only you. And no...it's not Teenage Dream,” he said smiling. Kurt chuckled and looked at him lovingly. The music started and he looked directly at Kurt.
“I wanna know whoever told you I was letting go. The only joy that I have ever known. Boy, they're lying,” he sang. So he changed a word. It was better than saying “girl”.
“Just look around and all of the people that we used to know have just given up, they wanna let it go but we're still trying,” he sang remembering the past few years. They had seen many break ups and came close once but they didn't stop fighting. That night was Blaine's fault but he did everything he could to make it better for them.
“So you should know this love we share was never made to die. I'm glad we're on this one way street just you and I, just you and I.”
“I'm never gonna say goodbye 'coz I never wanna see you cry. I swore to you my love would remain and I swear it all over again. And I, I'm never gonna treat you bad 'coz I never wanna see you sad. I swore to share your joy and your pain, and I swear it all over again,” he sang the chorus meaning every damn word he sang.
“Some people say that everything has got its place in time. Even the day must give way to the night. But I'm not buying.”
Kurt was smiling so wide at him. He wanted to just stop and hold him but he went on.
“'Coz in your eyes I see a love that burns eternally and if you see how beautiful you are to me you'll know I'm not lying,” he sang every single word to this man. Kurt was beautiful. He may not think he is but Blaine knew he was and would tell him that forever.
“Sure there'll be times we wanna say goodbye but even if we try there are some things in this life won't be denied, won't be denied,” he sang. It was true though. They never said goodbye, even when they fought. Goodbye was forever. They would never say it.
“I'm never gonna say goodbye 'coz I never wanna see you cry. I swore to you my love would remain and I swear it all over again. And I, I'm never gonna treat you bad 'coz I never wanna see you sad. I swore to share your joy and your pain, and I swear it all over again.”
“The more I know of you is the more I know I love you. And the more that I'm sure I want you forever and ever more. And the more that you love me the more that I know oh, that I'm never gonna let you go, gotta let you know that I,” he sang while kneeling in front of Kurt smiling. The tears glistening in Kurt's eyes were now over flowing. Blaine held his tears back, he had to for now.
“I'm never gonna say goodbye 'coz I never wanna see you cry. I swore to you my love would remain and I swear it all over again. And I, I'm never gonna treat you bad 'coz I never wanna see you sad. I swore to share your joy and your pain, and I swear it all over again. All over again...all over again.”
“And I swear it all over again,” he sang finishing the song. Kurt was smiling and crying and leaned down to kiss him. He kissed back happily and pulled away looking at him.
“So...Kurt Elizabeth Hummel...I swear my love will remain. I swear to share your joy and your pain. I swear I will give you everything you ever want or need. I swear to be by your side forever. Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, will you marry me?” he asked pulling the little black box from his jacket and opened it. Inside lay a white gold band with three tiny blue sapphires. On the inside of the band “forever” was engraved.
Kurt's hands flew to his open mouth and he cried harder. He pulled the ring out of the box and set the box to the side. Kurt attacked him kissing him and hugging him tightly.
“Yes,” kiss “I will,” kiss “marry you,” another kiss and his amazing blue eyes captured Blaine's hazel ones.
“I love you so much,” Blaine whispered to him.
“I love you too. Thank you so much,” Kurt said. Blaine pulled Kurt's left hand up and slipped the ring onto his finger. Kurt eyed it for a minute and looked at him lovingly.
“I swear my love will remain. I swear to share your joy and your pain. I swear I will give you everything you ever want or need. I swear to be by your side forever Blaine. Forever. I love you so much. You've dealt with my bullshit for so long and I owe you so much,” Kurt said crying.
“I've given you more bullshit than anything. I'm never going to do that again though. You are my priority and I'm going to love you forever and never let go. I love you so much,” Blaine said kissing him.
“I love you too,” Kurt said. With that, the camera stopped filming. The rest of the night was spent with friends and family. Eating and dancing ensued but they were together the whole time. The last song playing was “When You Kiss Me” by Shania Twain. Blaine had made sure it was the last one. Actually, he had chosen all of the sings played that night.
“Oh, when you kiss me I know you miss me and when you're with me the world just goes away. The way you hold me, the way you show me that you adore me, the world just goes away. And when you kiss me I know you miss me oh, the world just goes away when you kiss me,” Kurt sang softly ending the song and pressing a kiss to Blaine's lips. His hold tightened on Kurt and he kissed him back eagerly.
“Forever,” Blaine said when he pulled away smiling.
“Forever,” Kurt said. Only then did he notice the camera recording them. He laughed and couldn't wait to watch everything.
