When I was Your Man
This is the way I hope things go between Kurt and Blaine when season 5 picks up. Neither one of them is really ready to get back together yet, there is still some growing up that needs to be done for both of them but first, Blaine needs to get some things sorted, as does Kurt.

When I was Your Man
Everyone was heading out of the choir room now that the wedding was over and all the sparkling cider drunk. Kurt had stayed to help Blaine clean up and was eyeing him suspiciously as they did so. Blaine had been acting strange all evening, too quiet, too introverted. Very unlike himself.
"So what's the plan for tonight?" Kurt asked. The night before they had gone to dinner with the older lesbians and the night before that they had gone to a showing of The Great Gatsby. Blaine shrugged as he continued picking up the cups that littered the choir room. "Is something the matter?" Kurt asked as he walked over to Blaine. "You've been acting weird all night." He thought he would be ecstatic now that they were one step closer to a second national championship.
"No it's cool. I mean, I'm fine." He kept staring at the floor, his voice stammering. His heart was beating a mile a minute. He ran a hand over his pocket, making sure the ring box was still there. He really wanted to propose to Kurt but after the last few days, he really didn't know if Kurt would accept. They hadn't even kissed or touched since he had been back and it was driving him insane. And he had stopped counting how many times Kurt had said they were "just friends." He was really starting to hate that expression.
"Blaine I know you and something's up. You might as well tell me now because you know I am going to find out." His tone was teasing. Blaine merely shook his head. Kurt looked at him sternly. "Come on Blaine, spill." Blaine walked away before sitting down at the piano.
"Kurt, there's something I wanted to ask, to say to you tonight but . . ." his voice trailed off and he started playing a few notes on the piano.
"But what?" Kurt looked at him curiously.
"You know I'm not all that good at expressing my thoughts and I want to play something for you, something I've been working on." He motioned with his head for Kurt to have a seat. Kurt smiled nervously as he sat down. He really had no idea what Blaine was going on about.
"I don't think you've ever sung to me here before." Kurt said quietly. It was true, there had been flirty duets and a lot of solos by each of them but just the two of them, together in this room, this was a first.
"There's a lot of things I haven't done" Blaine said softly as he launched into the song.
