So, that was my first attempt at coach!blaine! Definitely think Ill write more, not sure about posting them, though, I guess thats up to the reviews!
So what if Kurt Hunmel was slightly attracted to the William McKinley basketball team coach? So what if Kurt happened to think he was super cute. So what if Kurt happened to notice just how nicely Coach Andersons pants fit him. And so what if Coach Anderson possibly felt the same way back.
It all started the beginning of senior year when Kurt heard there was a new coach. He didnt think anything of it, seeing as hes in glee club, but then he entered Coach Andersons history class. It all went downhill from there.
You know, Kurt trying to answer as many questions in class as possible to impress the short, adorable coach, trying his best not to get caught staring when Coach Anderson swivels around to face the class, and succeeding in becoming the teachers pet. Kurt was very proud in all of this, earning the upmost respect from Coach Anderson, even the snickers from his other classmates didnt matter to him.
Kurt quickly managed to slither his way into becoming water-boy of the basketball team. Now, telling that to his friends was a shock to them. Finn had seemed dumbfounded; "Since when? I could have sworn it was Jacob Ben Israel yesterday." Rachel had furrowed her eyebrows; "You what? Basketball? Whats a water-boy?" And Mercedes had smirked knowingly; "Mhmm. Get it, white boy."
So thats how Kurt ended up on the basketball bench with twelve sweaty, stinky basketball players on a Friday night.
"Hudson, in for Puck. Hurry, go!" Coach Anderson pushed on Finns back to make him speed up to a jog towards the announcers desk.
Kurt couldnt help the smile form as he watched Coach Anderson throw his hands in the air, yelling something about Sam fouling or what not. This entire season, Kurts had no idea what happened on the court, nor does he really care. Coach Andersons ass is in his face for a good half of the game, nothing else is really important after that, right?
"No, no! I said run West, Hudson, up top!" Coach Anderson started stomping the ground, huffing in annoyance. "Go up, go up, yes!" He fist bumps the air when Sam retrieves the ball and makes a three pointer.
Kurt was slightly more amused with this game than the other two so far. This game was against a school about an hour away, and it was a close one. There only was a four point difference, and Coach Anderson was getting riled up. Hes already yelling like hes never before, and its only third quarter. Kurt was beyond amused at Coach Andersons frustration.
Kurt came back to reality when he saw Finn foul as the other team went up to shoot, and Coach Anderson yelped, "No! God- time out!"
Jumping up, Kurt took the water bottles as the boys gathered around Coach Anderson. His eyes were burning into each player, and he huffed. "What are you guys doing out there? All of you are playing like fifth graders." And so on he ranted.
"Now, get back out there and play like your age," Coach Anderson shooed everyone away, and Kurt retrieved everyones water bottles. "No more fouling, Hudson!" Coach reminded Finn, pointing before turning to Kurt.
Kurt fumbled with the water bottle he was putting back in its spot when he made eye contact. He was taken aback when Coach Anderson smiled at him. Sure, it wasnt all that strange for that to happen, but at a time like this, it was weird. Kurt couldnt help to smile back, though.
The whistle blew, and coach Anderson redirected his attention to the game, "Hands up, D!"
Kurt returned to his seat.
Before he even knew it, they had two minutes of the fourth quarter left and the score was 51-52, them losing. Coach Anderson had so far broken his clip board, sat Finn out, and gave Kurt one more weary, unsure and nervous smile.
"Dont be a wimp, Puck, get the ball! Take it!" Coach Anderson directs, pointing at Puck. He stomps his foot when the ball flies past the mohawked teen, who grunted in frustration. "Oh my god! Play defense right, boys! Okay! Okay, good, Evans, take it to the hoop!"
Kurt smirked slightly as he watched Coach Anderson throw his hands into his, now loose from gel, hair, and held his breath. He watched Sam square up, and shoot the ball. The entire crowd stands, and then cheers loudly when it goes in. Coach Anderson claps, and nods. "Alright, keep it up!"
Though only thirty seconds left of the game, the other team takes the ball and runs down the court. They quickly got past our defense and scored two points. Kurt was pretty sure that Coach Anderson almost had a heart attack before yelling for a time out.
Kurt had never seen Coach this frantic before, he was yelling every word, making sure to make eye contact with each of the five that were playing. Sam reached for a water bottle, and Kurt handed him it, before returning his attention to Coach Anderson who was now informing the players of what to run on offense next.
Sam handed it back, and Kurt smiled slightly at the man, but grimaced when he realized how sweaty he was. Boys are disgusting, he thought, but then shared a moment of eye contact with Coach Anderson, so he gave him what he hoped was a confident smile.
It was, apparently, because Coach gave a smile back, just not as sure as Kurts.
The game started again, and they ran back and forth for a bit before the clock hit ten seconds and Puck grabbed the rebound, running it down the court. He passed to Sam, who passed to Mike, and by now the crowd was on their feet, suspense in the air as the clock ticked quickly. Puck got the ball once more, dribbled once in, and went up for a shoot.
Coach Andersons hands were on his head as the team bounced to their feet, too, as everyone watched the ball fly towards the goal. The entire right side of the gym erupted into cheers as the ball went through the net as the buzzer went off, and Coach Anderson jumped so high, he was almost as tall as Finn.
Kurt even stood to clap himself, a smile on his lips from watching his Coachs winning smile as he high fived Puck before Puck was picked up by all of the basketball team. Kurt looked at Coach Anderson again as the man turned to look his way, too, and Kurt grinned at him, hed never seen Coach Anderson that happy before. He even began to walk over to Kurt.
"Kurt?"
Kurts eyes widened, "Yeah?"
"You mind coming down to my office after everything settles? You know where its at right?" Coach Anderson asks, the smile never fading from his face.
Kurt nods, "Yeah- yeah, of course. No problem."
"Cool." He gave him a thumbs up, "What a win, am I right?"
"Right you are, coach. The boys did good." Kurt smiled to the older man, admiring the way his eyes were shining with excitement and adrenaline.
If it was possible, Kurt wouldve thought Coach Andersons smile grew even more. "Oh yeah, they did. Couldve been better, but at least we won, right?"
Kurt nodded, before being pulling into a hug by his stepbrother. Kurt laughed into the taller boys chest, "Oh, Finn, I think youre crushing my bones."
"Oh, sorry, dude." He let go a little, but didnt let go all the way. "Im just so excited, did you see it? The winning shot?"
"Yes, Finn, I sat right here." Kurt pulled away, with some difficulty, and gestured to his previous seat.
Finn smiled as he nodded, "Right, I forgot. Oh, hey Sam! Good fake out right before Puck made it!" He walked away from Kurt, and Kurt realized that coach Anderson had already walked away to talk to Figgins.
Kurt wasnt sure what Coach Anderson wanted to talk about to him in private, but he was sure its nothing bad. Especially not after the incredible win they just had. Though, he was still just a bit worried. Maybe he was no longer water-boy? Maybe Coach just wanted to tell him good-job?
The boys all eventually rushed down to the locker room in a group of excitement and sweat. Kurt was relieved not to be constantly high fived by smelly boys, and now just watched as a line of people just flowed through the doors. Kurt realized that its probably a good time to walk down to the locker rooms and go to Coach Andersons office.
Kurt had been in there only once before, and that was when Coach had asked him to be the water-boy, instead of J.B.I this year. So, Kurt hesitantly knocked on the door, and waited for a few seconds. There was no answer, so he knocked again, but jumped when there was a hand on his shoulder. "Oh, sorry about that. I was talking to the guys about the game. Glad to see you came, though."
Kurt blushed at the touch, he legitimately blushed, and nodded. "Of course."
Coach Anderson turned the door knob, and opened the door for Kurt, allowing the younger boy to enter first. Then, he joined himself, before closing the door. Kurt wasnt sure, but he couldve swore he heard him lock it.
"So," Coach Anderson started, looking at the bobble head of a NBA player on his desk. He hit the head once, causing the bobble head to nod viciously, "Did you enjoy the game?"
"Yeah. It was pretty good. And usually, I dont even like basketball."
Coach Anderson gasped at him, "Oh, Kurt, you wound me." He pretended to be shot in the heart before smiling at him. "Yeah, I could tell you werent really into the other games last week."
Kurt shrugs, "Broadway and singing is better."
"Take that back." Coach Anderson smirks, shaking his head.
Kurt shakes his head no, "I wouldnt lie to you, Coach."
"Take it back, Kurt, or there will be consequences." Coach Anderson warned, stepping closer to Kurt, yet it wasnt very intimidating since he was a good half foot smaller than Kurt.
"Like what, Coach? Are you going to un-water-boy me?" Kurt smirked, staring right into Coach Andersons eyes, raising his eyebrows.
Coach Anderson doesnt say anything for a few seconds, just stares Kurt down. Kurt licked up lips, suddenly nervous for some reason as he stared right back at Coach Anderson. "Kurt Hummel."
"Coach?" Kurt answers hesitantly, unsure of what was happening currently.
"Its Blaine. My names Blaine. Call me it." Coach Anderson told him.
Kurts eyes widened. Oh. He stuttered at first, "Uh- Blaine..?"
Kurts breath was immediately whipped out of him when Coach Anderson pulled Kurt to him, and meshed their lips together in a kiss. Kurt let out a gasp, eyes wider than before. Coach Anderson- Blaine was holding him tightly to himself, his hands both on Kurts back, but then one runs all the way up to hold the back of his head.
Kurts surprise wears off, and he has to mentally tell himself not to squeal like a thirteen year old girl as he relaxes into the kiss. Kurt brings his hands up to rest on Blaines shoulders. Their lips were heated and slick against each others and it almost made Kurt melt into a puddle on the ground because it felt so good. Kurt couldnt even help but let out a slight moan when the older man slipped his tongue into his mouth.
"Mmhm," Blaine gasped into Kurts mouth, "Wanted so long," he mumbled, kissing him again, "God, Kurt."
Kurts hands went into Blaines hair as he grew more confident in the kissing, and kissed Blaine harder to show him just how much he wanted this, too. Blaine whimpered against him, breathing harshly through his nose for the air he desperately needed.
"Hey, coach, its Finn, I needed to talk to you."
They jumped apart at the knock and Kurts stepbrothers voice. Both of their eyes widened at what just went on, and Blaine ran a hand through his hair before answering, "Yeah, okay, be out in a few." Kurt noticed his voice was just a tad lower than usual.
"Um, I should go." Kurt licked up lips unsurely, and eyed Blaine.
Blaine only nodded, "Yeah, yeah I guess. But first," He yanked Kurt towards him once more, and kissed him full on the lips in a sweet, longing kiss.
The kiss made Kurts heart flutter, and his knees shake. It was everything he wanted as his first kisses, not in the right order, but still.
"Coach?"
Finns stupid voice broke them apart again, and Blaine smiled sweetly at Kurt before opening the door to Finn. Kurt smiled at his stepbrother before passing him, and started to leave before Blaine stopped him.
"See you tomorrow, Kurt." He said, and Kurt turned to him.
"See you tomorrow, coach." He smirked as Blaine gave him a subtle wink.
