Kurt's mom is still alive. He comes out to her. (Only mentioning of Blaine)
“Mom?”
“Yeah baby? What are you doing up so late?”
“Couldn’t sleep. Can I sit with you?”
“Sure baby. Come on.”, she patted on the bed.
He sat down and just hugged her. It was a long, tight hug.
“Is there something wrong, Kurt?”
His eyes started tearing. “I need to tell you something.”
“Okay.”, she just waited. Mary knew knew there was something wrong. He had been distracted the last weeks, he acted weird and he wasn’t happy.
“You know Brittany, the girl I’m dating?”, he started.
She nodded.
“I’m not in love with her”, he confessed, “I don’t think I’ve ever been in love with her.”
His mom raised her eyebrows. “Then why are you dating her?”
“Because everyone else has a girlfriend. So I figured...”
“You are not that kind of boy, Kurt. You don’t date girls because everybody has a girlfriend,” she sighed, “but do you have problems with that? Girls and stuff?”
Kurt took a deep breath. “I don’t like girls. Not as girlfriends.”
Mary smiled and looked at him. “Do you mean that you like boys more?”
He bit his lip and looked down. “I think I do...”
“That’s okay, honey. Don’t be embarassed about that. There’s nothing wrong with being gay.” She gave him a big hug. “I’m glad you told me. So... is there a boy in particular you like?”
He flushed and let out a little laugh. “There’s this guy in my geometry class, Blaine. He’s really handsome.”
Mary laughed. “And does he like you too?”
“Well we went to the movies last week”, he confessed, “that was the geometry assignment...”
His mom laughed. “Oooh yeah... I already thought there was something weird there.”
“Yeah, sorry about lying...”, Kurt said, “I didn’t know what you and dad would think of that.”
“Nothing special, baby. So have you kissed him?”
“Mom! I am not talking about that with you”, Kurt said loud and clear, “It’s not because I’m gay that I’m going to tell you everything... I am a teenager and a boy, mom. I’m not talking about kissing.”
“So you haven’t kissed him. Yet?”, she simply stated.
“Mom!”
They looked at each other and laughed.
