Kurt and Blaine meet over the summer.
Three weeks.
It’d been three weeks since school started.
Three weeks since he’d heard from Blaine.
Three weeks since “I don’t love you.”

Kurt opened the door to the empty auditorium and stepped inside. He looked around to make sure no one was there before stepping out onto the stage. He set his bag down in the corner and walked over to the piano.
He sat down on the bench and scooted forward, resting his finger on the keys. He sighed softly and closed his eyes.
“Kurt there’s no discussion on this, your Aunt needs your help at the dock this summer and you’re going! She’s paying you guys too.” Burt stated from under the hood of the car he was working on.
“Aunt Celia hates me. Why would I want to spend my summer with a woman who can’t stand me?” Kurt crossed his arms and huffed.
“You’re going Kurt.”
Kurt rolled his eyes and went inside.
Kurt started playing a slow and soft melody, his eyes still closed as the memories filled his mind again.
“Excuse me?”
Kurt looked up from the net he was repairing. In front of him stood the most gorgeous man he’d ever seen before. The man had curly brown hair and tanned skin. He looked strong too, not buff like a lot of the other men Kurt had seen walking around, but more lean like a swimmer.
“Y-Yes?” Kurt stuttered slightly, standing up from his chair.
“My boat was damaged in the last storm we had and I came over to see if someone here could help me fix it up.” The man smiled and held out his hand, “I’m Blaine Anderson.”
Kurt smiled softly and shook Blaine’s hand, “Kurt Hummel.”
Blaine raised an eyebrow, “Are you Celia’s son? I didn’t know she had children.”
Kurt smiled and shook his head, “No I’m her nephew, my stepbrother and I are here for the summer to help around the shop.”
Blaine nodded, “I see, well do you think you could help me with my boat?”
Kurt shook his head, “I don’t really know anything, and Aunt Celia doesn’t trust me around anything. I can call my brother and see if he’ll help you.”
Blaine’s smiled faltered but then he nodded, “Sounds good to me.”
Kurt nodded, “I’ll be right back.”
Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind

The day after Blaine came in asking for help on his boat; he came back and asked Kurt on a date. Kurt accepted and now he was walking down the boardwalk next to Blaine.
“So you’ve never been to the beach other than now?” Blaine asked with a smile.
Kurt nodded and laughed lightly, “Ohio really doesn’t have a nice beach located near it.”
Blaine nodded and smiled brightly. They were silent for a few moments before Blaine grabbed Kurt’s hand and pulled him towards the entrance to the street carnival, “Come on, I love when this comes to town.”
Kurt chuckled and walked with him, holding tightly to Blaine’s warm hand.
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick
They’d been seeing each other for two weeks. For their date tonight Blaine had cooked dinner at his beach house.
“Come here.” Blaine said, smiling softly. He was sitting on the chaise lounge with a glass of wine in his hand. Kurt walked over and sat down beside him, resting his head on Blaine’s shoulder.
“I really like spending time with you.” Blaine said softly, kissing Kurt’s hair.
Kurt smiled softly and looked up at him, “I like spending time with you too, I never thought I’d actually have fun this summer.”
Blaine smiled and pressed a soft kiss to Kurt’s forehead, “Creo que estoy enamorado de ti.” Blaine said softly, holding Kurt closer to him.
Kurt looked up at him with an eyebrow raised. Blaine just smiled and shook his head.
I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do
Kurt reached up and wiped the tears sliding down his cheeks. He continued playing, looking down at his hands.
We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me

They were walking through town, Kurt needed to stop at the store to get groceries for Aunt Celia and Blaine decided to tag along.
They walked past an alley where a group of men were sitting playing different instruments. Blaine stopped and leaned against the wall, pulling Kurt off to the side away from the crowd.
“Blaine I have to go to the store, Celia will be pissed if I’m late with the food.” Kurt frowned.
“She’ll have to deal with it.” He looked around and then grabbed both of my hands, “Dance with me Kurt.”
“What?” Kurt raised an eyebrow as Blaine pulled him close. They danced in the alley while the band played next to them.
Blaine smiled brightly and spun Kurt, laughing lightly. Kurt shook his head and laughed with him, “You are such a child.”
“Nah, I’m just young at heart.” Blaine grinned and kissed Kurt’s cheek.
And when you left you kissed my lips,
Told me you would never ever forget these images.
They ran up the steps and onto the front porch of Celia’s beach house. When they were out walking on the beach a storm and blown in, causing them to have to run back to the house.
Kurt laughed lightly and looked at Blaine, his curls plastered to his head from the rain, “You didn’t check the weather today?”
Blaine rolled his eyes, “Neither did you.”
Kurt chuckled and nodded. He looked out at the rain and then back at Blaine, “You have to leave tomorrow right?”
Blaine sighed and nodded, “It’s only for three days and then I’ll be back.”
Kurt frowned and stepped closer to Blaine, “I already miss you. Celia’s gonna make my life a living hell while you’re gone.”
Blaine smiled slightly and reached up, putting his hand on Kurt’s cheek, “I’m just a phone call away, you know that.”
Kurt nodded softly, “Yeah but it’s not the same.”
Blaine sighed and leaned in, pressing his lips to Kurt’s. Kurt’s arms slid around Blaine’s neck and pulled him closer.
They stayed like that for a moment, wrapped in each other, before Blaine pulled back. Their foreheads were still touching.
Kurt smiled and closed his eyes, “Don’t forget me when you’re gone.”
“Never.” Blaine breathed and then crushed his lips back to Kurt’s.
I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should've known you'd bring me heartache

Kurt opened his eyes and looked out into the empty chairs. Different scenes playing out in front of him.
I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you're gone and I'm haunted
And I bet you are just fine
Did I make it that easy
To walk right in and out of my life?
“Blaine, you don’t mean what you’re saying. This isn’t you.” Kurt cried.
Blaine shook his head, he reached up and ran a hand through his curls, “Don’t you understand that I don’t want you here anymore? The summer’s over, go back to Lima, I don’t need you here.”
Kurt shook his head and stepped closer to Blaine, “Blaine, no, I love you; don’t do this.”
Blaine shook his head again, “No Kurt.”
Kurt reached out and put his hand on Blaine’s arm, Blaine flipped around, pulling his arm away, “I don’t love you Kurt!” He screamed.
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should've known you'd bring me heartache

As the last note rang out through the auditorium, Kurt curled in on himself, letting out a sob that he’d been holding in throughout the song.
The silence was interrupted when someone in the other end of the auditorium started to clap.
Kurt sniffled slightly and looked up. He gasped and jumped up.
Blaine was standing in the back of the auditorium, clapping. He stopped when he’d gotten Kurt’s attention and walked out into the aisle. He walked down to the edge of the stage and looked up at the teen, “Hello Kurt.”
Kurt raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, “How did you find me? Why are you here?”
Blaine sighed and walked onto the stage, “Finn called me. He said you weren’t doing very well.”
Kurt scoffed and rolled his eyes, sitting back down on the piano bench.
Blaine frowned, “Kurt, why haven’t you been eating? Finn says you quit your glee club, you’re failing your classes. I even talked to your dad and he said you don’t come out of your room when you’re at home. Why are you doing this?”
“Because.” Kurt mumbled, crossing his arms.
Blaine sighed, “Because why Kurt?”
“Because I loved you and you didn’t love me back.” Kurt glared up at him, “Hell, I still love you. I can’t stop how I feel.”
Blaine frowned and looked at his feet, “I did love you Kurt.”
Kurt’s eyes widened, “You, you did?”
“I love you Kurt,” Blaine looked back up at the teen, “But I’m scared, I don’t how to do this. You’re the first person I’ve ever had feelings for.” He took a deep breath, “I know I ruined this for us. I was scared, I didn’t want to mess us up, but I ended up doing it anyway.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? Even when I’d left and came back here, you had my number, why did you call?” Kurt looked up at him, standing up and walked over to Blaine.
“I figured you hated me for what I did.” Blaine said simply.
Kurt shook his head, “I could never hate you Blaine.”
“I love you Kurt. With everything that I am.” Blaine looked into Kurt’s eyes, searching for some kind of forgiveness.
Kurt looked down and thought for a minute before looking back up, “But you said I was too young, that we were wrong in being in a relationship.”
“You’re eighteen now, it doesn’t matter. I should’ve realized that I could love you even if you were younger than me.” Blaine reached out and held Kurt’s hands.
“Blaine, are you sure we can do this? I can’t go through losing you again.” Kurt said quietly, looking up at Blaine through his eyelashes.
Blaine nodded and pulled Kurt closer to him, “I know we can do it this time. I made a mistake that I won’t ever make again. I won’t lose you.”
Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine and rested his head on Blaine’s shoulder. Blaine wrapped his arms around the teen and held him close.
“I love you Kurt. Nothing will change that.”
“I love you too.”
“Forever?”
“Forever.”
