Dancing Happiness
Kissing at prom isn't so easy. For those who haven't read my older work, this is what I do--explain away things I didn't like or didn't see in episodes. Promasaurus post-ep ficlet/drabble.

"Blaine," Kurt chastised gently, leaning away from his boyfriend. Blaine looked back petulantly, though his lips twitched with mirth. Kurt smiled fondly back.
They easily fell back into the rhythm of the song, swaying together just a little bit closer. When Blaine's lips ghosted across Kurt's neck again, the taller boy pulled back with a quiet gasp.
"Blaine," Kurt whispered. "Did you drink the punch?" he teased.
Blaine huffed out a laugh, eyes flickering away as they continued to move to the music.
"No," Blaine answered quietly. "Just water for me tonight."
"Hey," Kurt said softly when Blaine kept his gaze averted. Kurt slid his hand from Blaine's shoulder to his collar, just barely tracing his thumb across warm skin. Blaine shifted his gaze to Kurt's necklace before lifting his eyes, his expression earnest.
"I just want to kiss you at prom."
Kurt offered an understanding smile before pulling their clasped hands to his lips. He pressed his lips against Blaine's fingers, feather-like kisses on each digit before he settled their hands against his chest. Blaine sighed, closing his eyes and leaning his forehead against Kurt's.
"I know," Kurt assured. "But I don't think we're there yet."
"You mean, this school isn't there yet," Blaine said, bitterness creeping into his tone.
"Nothing's happened so far. I just want to keep it that way."
Blaine nodded his head minutely, tipping it back to look at Kurt.
"Well, we do have the after party," Blaine offered, a ghost of smile appearing on his lips. Kurt quirked an eyebrow.
"That we do," Kurt agreed. He leaned in conspiratorially. "And no one in New Directions is going to be able to pry me away from you."
Blaine's eyes widened, his grin turning salacious.
"I can't wait." Blaine tugged Kurt's hand to his lips to press his own kiss against the other boy's fingers, winking as he did so. Kurt laughed as they swayed a little more to the music.
"Can we go now?" Kurt asked, his sudden eagerness making Blaine laugh.
"No," Blaine answered happily.
"No?" Kurt asked in disbelief. "You're singing a different tune all of a sudden. What about the kissing?"
"Not yet," Blaine insisted with a chuckle.
"Why?"
"Because I want to do what we can at prom," Blaine answered vaguely, his eyes sparking with mischief.
"And what would that be?"
"Dance."
Before Kurt could reply, Blaine stepped back and grabbed Kurt's other hand, pushing them apart and back together. He twisted their hands over Kurt's head and led him in a turn, then, using his other hand, Blaine pushed gently against Kurt's back so that he spun out. Kurt laughed, flinging his arm out dramatically at the end of the turn. When Blaine tugged Kurt back into his arms, happiness danced in both their eyes.
