Characters: Blaine Anderson,

Blaine has always loved the crackle and pop of vinyl records, he'd always made the stupid analogy that when listening to good vinyl was more like feeling the music rather than hearing it.  Another analogy was that music on vinyl felt like sitting next to a warm, cozy, welcoming fire, y'know, because of the popping. He had developed a million ways to explain his obsession with this long outdated technology over the years, even though no one had ever really asked. But all justifications aside, he really loved vinyl for a select few reasons, one was because he and his father had bonded when he was very young over his father's extensive collection of records, back when their relationship flowed smoothly, Blaine's dad loved him, but there was always that slight awkwardness that would roll in like a sudden fog whenever Kurt's name was mentioned in his father's presence, another reason that Blaine loves vinyl is because it's a special occasion when he brings out an old album, the listening is deliberate and the moment belongs to the music, rather than most of the time when a song is just playing in the background as soundtrack to a shower, or dinner, or sex.
He and Kurt are perusing Blaine's old crate of LPs now in search of music to play at their upcoming wedding, the both of them have a deeper connection to their music, each song must be carefully selected, this collection has so much meaning to Blaine so it's only natural they would start here.
Kurt thumbs through the stiff cardstock sleeves and draws in a quick, sharp breath and shows Blaine the album he's found, it's ' the mamas and papas deliver' Blaine arches an eyebrow at this, it doesn't seem like the kind of album Kurt would get excited about, Blaine himself didn't really know why he had it, but Kurt explains, "my- my mom loved this album, sh-she used to play it when she was cooking, we knew all the words-my dad got it for her"  he starts to hum under his breath and Blaine gently takes it from him, sets it up on the nearby turntable and Kurt snuggles himself into Blaine's shoulder.  He sniffles to announce his sentence and in a voice just above a whisper asks Blaine " can we play this when i dance with Carole?"  Blaine knows the signifigance and he whispers back into Kurt's usually perfect but currently touseled hair " of course."
